When....if I mean if his managerial career goes tits up he’s got a catchy name for a loan company here. I'm going to love it when Jonesy proves you wrong. You're really painting yourself into a corner, Bayern I had images of Kevin Keegan’s melt down. ‘I would love it’ if Bayern was wrong

I think he's serious about avoiding loans if he can
He may be forced into one or two out of expedience, rather than as a part of his strategy.
NJ is stubborn: Stubborn on certain players, stubborn on creating his diamond, stubborn on this. Its a delicate line sometimes between being focussed and pig-headed.

In our current situation it would be ridiculous not to consider any option that would improve us.
Rowett said he didn't like loans but still used them. Jones might not like them but has used them in the past. I'm sure he'll use the loan system if there's no better or affordable permanent signing available.

But he did and they're in a situation where they've got to use what they've got. Who's available presently? There's real standout. Their fans pretty much disliked Sarri so he quells that. They're going to have use academy players and he and Morris know them well. I think it's a great appointment tbh. But he did what? Bielsa would've been a better appointment than Lampard, for all he's mad as a box of frogs. I'm no fan of Eddie Howe but surely even he's more qualified than Lampard? Allegri is available. Yer man at Wolves would've taken it. The bloke at Watford has done more than Lampard and is a rising star. I don't know how people can say it's a great appointment based on one season in the Championship, just because he played a few youngsters. And that’s the exact reason it’s a great appointment.

You're really painting yourself into a corner, Bayern If (I'm not confident enough to say 'when') Jones proves bayern wrong and leads us to a glorious promotion, I'm going to make it my life's mission to reply to every single post he makes on here pointing out what a negative, know-nothing he really is...to the point he feels compelled to leave the board forever, exile himself in Siberia and quietly moans himself to death in a sparse and bitter landscape. Or I might just keep him muted so I don't have to read the backtracking drivel he'll inevitably come out with.

Well said. I call him Mary but nothing seems to have the desired effect. His knowledge of the academy seems good so some credit there but my heart sinks each time I see him post. Compare that to fuller magic who seems to spend an equal amount of time on the board. Difference is he’s constructive and performs a valuable service scouting the internet on our behalf. On one post this week I could not believe Bayern bringing up piegate . It wasn’t thrown he insisted. The guy is a complete knob and talks tripe. He drains the energy out of the board

I think Bayern is going too far with his negativity and is far too firm in his view at the moment with so much unknown - but he's always polite and he does passionately and genuinely believe what he says.
And if someone replies to something he says, I think he feels obliged to respond.

FM that’s the problem isn’t it? He has to have the last word. Even raised piegate this week. The board would be a lot better without him imho

They’re going to have to play the likes of Abraham and Mount this season. No one knows them better than Jody Morris. And then you have Fat Frank as the spearhead to quell the fans for a bit and to develop them. It’s exactly what that club needs. They have a wonderful academy that bring through wonderful players and it’s about time they used them.

It's true that top young players on loan from the prem, had a big impact on the championship last year.
But the problem we will have compared to Derby and villa is that the cream of Chelsea youth man utd youth etc, have actually heard of John Terry and Frank Lampard. They have seen them play on MOTD hundreds of times, and they appear to know, whatever it is you need to know, to be a winner.
We are run by a bloke who played for Brighton, scholes and carto. I am fairly sure the cream of Chelsea youth man utd youth etc have never heard of them. And I am fairly sure it would never cross their mind to think of them as winners.

There’s precious little evidence Fat Frank is the man to take them forward, just because they did him a favour sending him a few loanees in the Championship. It’s a seismic shift to Chelsea and the demands and expectations there, even with the transfer ban.

It’s a pretty ideal set of circumstances. They have to be patient though. Which is where the issues lie. But having Kante always helps.

He's signed eight players I'm definitely happy with five of them and the other three I've an open mind about. Obviously we need a decent left back and ideally a quality striker And of course we need lots to leave.

I'm going to love it when Jonesy proves you wrong. You're really painting yourself into a corner, Bayern You can't be happy with his signings so far surely? Not really, no. Looks like an object lesson in trying to finish 13th in the Championship on paper, Powell aside...and his hamstrings could go at any time. But Jones' unshakeable confidence is freakish - so with so much unknown, I'm just going to buy into it, assume he's a shrewd operator who's got a plan to back it up, even with apparently severe financial restrictions in place, and see what happens!

You can't be happy with his signings so far surely? ... But Jones' unshakable confidence is freakish - I take it you've never been to any Born Again Christian conventions? I have, unfortunately. You'll find his attitude is common place, it's all blind optimism trust me, it's all part and parcel of how they sell and deliver their beliefs. They believe in what they are saying whole heartedly with unwavering conviction and even when it all comes crushing down they'll still continue and argue that it was all meant to be for the greater good.

It's possible. Anything's possible in early July! But he did back it up at Luton (okay they were a relatively big fish there). But only fair to give him a decent chance to see IF he can walk with the walk with his team without going stupidly negative.

The story of the season is yet to be written - we have got half a new team, with hopefully at least a starting left-back to come and a squad who'll be indoctrinated in the formation he's built his career (such as it is) on. We don't know what flaws will emerge, or how serious they'll be. It's a magical mystery tour.

Maybe so I’m judging on what we do know and how we know managers people and the games themselves and that was poor. As I’ve said I’m hoping for a diamond epiphany but until I see it then he’s gonna get nothing from me. It’s made pre season interesting though and I should be there to judge at two of them so that should be fun!

I wasn't particularly negative towards him when he joined, he wasn't my idea of a proven manager who's got teams out of this division before and thought it was a big gamble. I've got more negative as it's gone on, his team selections and subs were as baffling as Rowett's and performances didn't get any better. The signing of Cousins to play DM and then the signing of Ward to play as his mobile attacking Left Back have erased any positivity I had. As a person he's very difficult not to like but that's not going to get us promoted.
