Did Ireland ever play with Kompany? Probably. His son is meant to be one of the best players in his age category too. This is really bad if he doesn’t stay with us.

Not a great move at that age though is it? I would question the wisdom. We are currently good payers with great facilities and great prospects near his family home. Is he going to move away from his parents in their Prestbury Mansion to swap a youth team for a youth team? It’s not like he is going to be anywhere nearer their first team is he?

www.voetbalkrant.com/nieuws/2020-07-20/anderlecht-heeft-joshua-ireland-een-contract-aangebodenAnderlecht are always looking forward to young talent. Stephen Ireland's son has been training with Vincent Kompany for a few weeks. And that apparently went well. The Purple & White have offered him a contract. The 16-year-old midfielder is an English youth international and is known as a great talent. However, Stoke City, where he played in youth so far, also wants to keep him and has also made him an offer.

Gets to move to a cool city and learn under players who have been in and around European competitions for much of their career. I mean, its either that or sit and wait for another five years in the U23s of a relegation threatened Championship side.

Personally I think it's great to see youngsters going abroad - they will get far better coaching and get great life experience. It's going to happen in all walks of life - not just football.

I don't think it's a case of getting their act together is it? Surely the standard in the Premier league and the Championship is now so high that young players are really going to struggle to get game time in the top two tiers.

The Bundesliga is better than the Championship and then you have Bayern and Dortmund who are comparable to the PL top 7 but better than them all bar the top 2? So I’d say it’s very similar standard.

Anyone with any sense or talent shouldn't stay in this country. There are only so many vacancies for pro footballers, sfter that its like the Mary Celeste.
