And you think we'd be of interest to him if we hadn't? If we’d offered him a long term project of building a team from from under nines up with a healthy transfer budget And of course and say eighty grand a week wages Than yes I think his interest would be peaked Should of gone balls deep for him after Hughes Not a chance. Newcastle is below his level as it is. No way would he then of gone even lower. He’ll be in the Champions League next season. His next step after Newcastle will be the big boys where he knows he belongs.

And you think we'd be of interest to him if we hadn't? AND DAVE the answer is yes - IF we actually behaved like a premier league club in waiting He’ll probably take up an offer in China where he can earn 5x more than we could ever offer him

If we had put a revolver to the head of his adorable labrador puppy, Senor Snuffles...he would have thought it over. For about 3 seconds. Before replying (politely - I like to think he is polite)... "No. Muchas gracias. No".

We rushed into a long term Jones situation. Could’ve easily had someone oversee the remainder of time from post rowett til the end of the season. Because he would have wanted come here? Absolutely not. Not the point I’m making Matty. People above were debating how long it would take people to say We should’ve kept Rowett. We easily could’ve had a caretaker is my point. But I dare say Rafa would think more than once about being properly funded and building his own team.

We could have had a caretaker, but we could also have managed to get a young up and coming manager which will eventually work wonders (hopeful I know). Rafas head would certainly turn at being properly backed. But not by us. He’d be backed pretty much wherever he went. The likes of Milan, Juventus, Roma will all want a man like him if they’re in need. His time at Newcastle will have put him off being at anything less than Champions League/Europa League teams. He will just be running the risk of losing his reputation.

If we were still mid table in the Premier League we would have a distantly remote chance of getting Rafa.
The idea that he would take the job now is preposterous.

Can't blame him
Can't see why Mourinho or Arteta would go there if Benitez not happy.
My bet would be Roy Keane . Cheap and available

I'd like to think the former Desperately wasted at Toon and like many have stated he'll go abroad, top flight or........Chelsea? 😮

Do they really make this betting stuff up? Monk favourite and Leslie joint second fave? Bloody hell, if I wasn't depressed enough as a Newcastle supporter , the thought of either of them pair would tip me over the edge! Mind you, Leslie's still got his hat trick of ruination to go for

We should have done everything in bet 365 powers to get him here 2 years ago.
Things would be very different now.

Linked with ex-Colorado Rapids manager Anthony Hudson. Me neither.
Rafa had some very average players looking very good at Newc. Can't believe they've managed to piss him off to this extent.
Would Chelsea go there again?

££££££££££££££££££££££££'s "You'll have to chase freebies from QPR and Millwall though Rafa, as not only did we arrogantly think we were safe in the Premier League but we also forgot about FFP if we dropped down."

Indeed he would have been perfect for building on what Hughes achieved. If the money was right he might have been persuaded...only a short journey from the Wirral. Sadly the owners don't do foreign managers

Would Chelsea go there again? As an avid watcher of the MLS, Hudson was a bit of a disaster. I think he holds a record of their worst manager ever. Came with a reputation of managing all around the world but on par with the Rapids as Carver was at Newcastle. Can only guess that is a Twitter or something joke from a Sunderland fan.
