Anyone else completely underwhelmed by the players we’re being linked with?! There’s quite a step change in the transfer budget available to Jones compared to the previous incumbents

I'm reasonably happy with our 'alleged' signings so far. We could do with a couple of wow factors, but presumably that ain't happening until we can start to unload some, preferably for money.

Being fair some of the "big timers" from Harrods were faulty goods.

I was underwhelmed by the second half of the season more than the first half and that was bad enough.

Well spending shitloads last season didn't work, so I'll reserve judgement until seeing the team play.

Entirely predictable this. If you spunk megga bucks up the wall repeatedly and without accountability and then, have to account for exhorbitant wages for said wasters. What do you expect but free transfers after ???? Actions and consequence.

I'm just hoping it all comes together mate. I get the new approach of going for young, lower league players who are hungry to impress, and even though I was hoping we might splash out on someone a bit more experienced and proven at this level in addition (like Gayle) I've kind of accepted that with the pulling power we've now got it's unlikely to happen. What I'm a tad concerned about is that after Nathan Jones' comments towards the end of last season - the wait and see/after players metaphorically prepared to kill for Stoke City stuff - it looks likely that he isn't even going to manage to acquire the likes of James Justin/Romaine Sawyers either? We could genuinely end up doing extremely well with new players from the likes of Barnsley, Wigan and Millwall - not sure what's going to happen if we get off to yet another crap start though.

To be fair I'm fed up with bigger names winding up here thinking they are doing us a favour and then being a total let down
Would rather see us go for hungrier lower league players

I think any thoughts from the club about a big promotion push and a quick return to the Prem disappeared when we sacked Rowett and appointed Jones. Jones himself thinks it will take 3 years under his management. The calibre of potential signings indicate a season of midtable consolidation.

Altbough I've got the knives out for certain people at the club I'm hopeful our new manager manages to somehow overcome and even, mitigate their sheer and repeated incompetence.

Not interest n who we're linked with. Only interested in what players we sign do on the pitch

We got promoted with a variety of frees and loans.
I’m not enamoured with some we’ve signed so far (Powell) but I’m so fucked off with the utter wankers we’ve been stiffed with for years that I’m looking forward to a bunch of fresh faces.
At least they might actually look like they give some semblance of a shit about playing for us.

I don't really know anything about the players we have been linked with, so I can't give an opinion either way. I will judge them, if they sign, by what they do on the pitch. By the same token, I knew nothing about Imbula, Ndiaye, Etebo until I saw them play, yet we spent a lot of money on them, so one might be forgiven for thinking that these 3, and others, were pretty special...at least 2 of them proved to be far from that

Agree with this but actually think Powell will turn out to be one of the best signings in the league this coming season and some of the others may surprise a few if they have been brought in for a system

I have found shopping at Aldi and Lidl with the now occasional visits to Sainsburies & M&S for luxury goods is the best way to shop ..same goes for football players given where Stoke City are right now. Its an appropriate metaphore I feel.

There’s quite a step change in the transfer budget available to Jones compared to the previous incumbents It does illustrate the modern fan's lack of knowledge of anyone outside the Prem/Championship. I know very little about those we are reported to be chasing/signing but that's my problem not the manager's.
