Would be annoying if us signing Surridge paved the way for him going there.

Just seen Dorsett interview him and ask him about a loan to us or West Brom (for eg) and he just said (smilingly) he trusts the club to do what's best for him. Dorsett himself said "very diplomatically put".

How do we play Delap, Surridge and Campbell? How did Fergie play Yorke, Cole, Sheringham & Ole or Ronaldo, Rooney, Tevez & Berba? The season is long, Delap is 18 with 1 senior start to his name & Campbell is on the comeback from a serious injury. They'll all get plenty of game time.

Where did the training ground thing come from? Was he spotted there? Maybe he wanted to borrow a 5er for chips off his Dad.
As Hackett says, we really only have 3 strikers and a marathon of a season. 2 of those strikers won't play 25 games you wouldn't think.

True, but Man City will definitely have a lot of suitors and will most certainly want him to go to the team who can promise him the most game time. We have Brown, Fletcher and Surridge + Campbell to return in a couple of months. There will never be an option to buy on him, so unless we think he’s going to get us promotion, will it be worth it?

Fletcher is still relatively fresh after a break at the end of the season. It won't take long for him to tire or get a knock, then we will be down to Brown & Surridge. Another striker is a necessity with the amount of games to come especially if we go on a bit of a cup run!🤔

How do we play Delap, Surridge and Campbell? 46 games plus cup games and subs, and two are currently injured or coming back from injury. Also Campbell can play out wide, and we’ve gone two up top haven’t we?

A little wry smile there, hope he comes but the injury might affect that?? Shame if he doesn’t but I suppose he’s an unknown quantity at this level, but a hot prospect in great form at the end of last season

If we get him on loan he plays every match for me. About the team not the individual and need to be top 6 minimum.

Whether or not it's Delap, we definitely need four strikers playing a 352 system. Forwards do more running than anyone, there's no guarantees as regards Ty and Fletch is no spring chick.

It's not U23 football or messing around in an academy. I suspect if we did get him he will do ok and no more. Ronaldo at 18 took a couple of seasons to really get going at Man Utd. That said I would love him to shove my words right down my throat and be an absolute sensation.

A Mancunian Stoke fan who always rings Radio Stoke, and who's been saying all summer that he's heard Delap to Stoke is definitely happening. No idea if he knows anything or not.

Unless he is trully outstanding he will not play every game no matter where he goes and Manchester City will understand that. He will end up at a club that can demonstrate that they will be able to develop the lad's ability and give him adequate first team experience. For a good part of his time, where ever he goes, much of his time initially, at least, will be cameo substitutions in the league and starts in the early stages of any cup games. Only later in the season might he be seen to start league games on a regular basis (unless there is an injury crisis). As the Maestro above points out, he's only 18 and to move straight into playing in the Championship will be a very big step up.
