Let's just assume this twitter guy is the real deal and Liam signs on loan for next season. Who truly believes that MON will pick him on a regular basis or indeed pick him ahead of Vokes ? You're forgetting that any half decent (or otherwise) player Stoke get on loan will have a clause in the deal that "if he's fit he starts"

Add Doughty & Matondo into the mix and it's quite a pacey looking front line..

Getting mentioned with Anderlecht now. Could see that being an attractive option with the Kompany link - and European football?
Suddenly, the management of Anderlecht could once again turn to Manchester City , so much last season they were happy with the performances of Luka Nmecha . This time, it is Liam Delap who is targeted. But again, nothing will be easy
The English striker, who plays with the U18 national team and who played in the U23 championship last season (24 goals in 20 league games) was also close to Guardiola's team. He had indeed started in the EFL Cup against Bournemouth on 24/09/2020, even scoring the first goal of his colors.
As the club are still counting on it for the future and his contract is currently only until June 2023, Manchester City would like to extend it before loaning him to Sporting Anderlecht for a season, without an option to buy.
The original plan was to loan him to the Championship, but Anderlecht could very well be a better destination.
The three parties are expected to meet soon, and a decision should fall fairly quickly. By the way, if his name rings a bell, it's because he's the son of Rory Delap , former Premier League midfielder (Southampton) and former Irish international.

"former Premier League midfielder (Southampton)..." like my arse! While this is certainly not untrue, every man and his dog recognises Rory from his time at Stoke...bastards!

Maybe but the belgium league is probably not that much of a standard higher than the championship, a few games in europe might be attractive for them but then he is cuptied and cant be recalled in January if needed for any reason so fingers crossed.

Anderlecht are a big club with a good history. Yes But they play in a poor league If they get CL group stages then that's a different angle

Anderlecht sadly makes way more sense than anyone in the Championship.
He doesn’t overly need to learn English football and roughhousing. He needs to learn in a set up that play fast, intense football. And if that’s what they do (and presumably they do or they wouldn’t have sent people there before) then it makes total sense as a preparation for him for life in the Man City squad.

The Championship is way more than roughhousing - those days have surely passed, but agreed on the other points. Anderlecht would appear a better fit for City’s ultimate aims for him.

I don’t think much football breaks out in your average Championship game and most teams don’t mind a tackle. With lenient/shit refs. I hate this league with a passion though, the standard is so bad.

As it ever been that good though? I can't remember now tbh. I agree, the last two seasons have been horrendous for the standard of football. 90% of teams cant string 3 passes together. Delap is much better off playing in a European League.

But when we got promoted it was about the same wasn’t it? Football would happen for 30 seconds and then be forgotten about for the rest of the match. From what I’ve watched he’s a tough lad anyway and if anything maybe a bit too angry. Needs calming down without taking away his edge.

If we were to lose out on signing Delap I'd much prefer it being to a foreign team. Would be painful seeing he play & shine for any of the Champo teams that have been linked to him & score a shed load whilst propelling a team up the league.
Course I'd like him come to Stoke as really do rate him, but going abroad I could cope with.
