Who’d win in a fight between Charles and Lennie? Lawrence is clearly the better physical specimen (Coventry away), but Charlie is from Scotland and looks like the sort of bloke who if he wasn’t a footballer would be sat staring at people in a Dundee estate pub with a flat roof with a Doberman on it.

Just like when you missed us getting promoted to make a childish point about a great manager in our history to fellate a fat nobody in our history. Oh hang on....that is actually true isn't it! You're going to have to try much harder. I understand your sense of shame. I'd feel exactly the same way if I'd done what you did.

What a fucking joke of a club we truly are. This is getting more and more embarrassing by the day. Yep. Is Lennie just bitter he's not part of the coaching staff or bitter he got shipped out or is he just trying to get onside with Stoke fans. His articles remind me of the ones Lou Macari used to write for the Sentinel.

Just suppose he came out, named names, said exactly what was going, on do you think the board would be happy that it had failed to keep it quiet. Who do you think Liam is getting his information from? It doesn't take much intelligence to work out that it is one of two possibly three people who work for the club. What position would he put these people in? Of course he isn't going to name names. At the moment he can say it is just rumour that several fans have also heard once he becomes specific then the board have to investigate. I am assuming that we would still like to recoup some of the money and don't want to damage players' reputations.
From Jones's point of view it is not either just the players we have sent out on loan. He has never met them. I'm sure they were involved and may even have been the instigators but there are others still at the club. From Rowett's point of view as I said earlier he talked about it as early as July before the summer signings came in so we can assume they weren't who he was talking about although they may have caught the bug by now but I suspect most of them are totally fed up and lacking confidence because of the dressing room they have joined. How many times over the past few seasons have we been lied to about it being a great dressing room?

We're ultimately never going to know the truth because neither side are going to come out and name names or own up themselves. It wouldn't surprise me if Bojan and Bauer are two of the ones Lawrence talks about. They misbehave, get isolated but the club can't come out and shame players in public. They have the option to sell Bojan but can't because they know the fans wouldn't be happy (like Bojan came out and said himself). These might well not be involved but I can't see why players consistently get dropped and isolated for no reason. It would be nice to know what's going on but that's never going to happen. What's becoming apparent is how hard a job this was for Rowett and he took the brunt of it. He made some fatal errors though like isolating the fans so he had to go but you can understand why he didn't do as well as he could have with the right players (he did sign plenty of the ones here, mind). Jones has got an absolute massive job on his hands and possibly the most difficult of his career so far.

This season is a clussterfuck of players on the pitch stinking the club out with:
a piss poor attitude at times an inability to put the MINIMUM required effort in you could say lack of pace but equally you could point to lack of positional nouse
The pre season was a joke The real season has nor got much better
For me ---- and it is a gut instinct .... I like Jones and have ( as most I guess ) written this season off ... However it does not mean that players can do the same thing
So disappointed in so many aspects of the way the club has performed on and off the pitch . Even in our darker days this season has to be one of the worst

We all know the issues the club has, we all know that we have bought some bad eggs and this is currently being sorted, or being attempted to be.
What is it with us as fans, those linked to us and others constantly dragging ourselves through the mud. It's bizarre. We MUST move on, we can't sort the problems if we keep dwelling on them, improve don't look back!
We know what the problems are, we are currently trying to resolve the problems. What we don't need to keep doing is giving the club and ourselves 12 lashes, it's helping no-one. Lawrence, as much as I love the bloke, needs to keep his gob shut. Well done to Adam for rubbishing it.
Just pack it in!

I have been thinking of the demise of Ryan. Having recently seen photographs of him in our early Premiership seasons celebrating with the likes of Delap, Fuller, Huth and Lawrence etc and thinking how happy he looks as opposed to the peripheral figure he has become in our celebrations. We knew he had good friendships with Huth and Delap. Can you even imagine who he gets on with in our current dressing room? When he became captain he was surrounded by a group of players with the same ethos as him in Whelan, Delap, Wilkinson, Sidibe, Huth, Begovic and may be some I've missed. These players gave everything to the club, and more importantly away from the club were family men who were never seen out in the early hours or getting drunk or going on flashy holidays which they posted all over twitter. They didn't show off flashy cars or wear showy attention seeking clothes. Who in our dressing room is like that now? I would suggest besides Ryan probably only Allen, Edwards and McLean (and even he says too much on social media)

The article is pretty damning of the senior members of the squad and any leadership there. They probably became disillusioned during the relegation season under Hughes when a 'blame culture' was starting to develop. (Pieters, Fletcher, Shawcross, Adam, Diouf, etc). Shawcross had a little spat with us fans back then and I think it's fair to say (great servant to the club that he is), he hasn't really recovered from that (and probably lost a lot of love for the club in the process). Hopefully Jones can get rid of all the players that are either bad apples, past it or both and start afresh in the summer. Fingers crossed he does.

If you read my post last night the person who gave me the information is a friend of Gary not a particular football fan, couldn't name names as she probably wasn't told them as they would mean nothing to her and I doubt if she would remember if she was told. Most people in the country don't take a great interest in Stoke. I've no doubt she was biased towards Rowett and only heard his side but used adjectives such as vile and horrid to describe some of the players who were making life very difficult for a friend.

I have faith that Jesus Jones will shape this squad like he has said many a times in interviews but this just shows how much of a task it is if Lawrence is correct and it will be a serious effort to get these players who are toxic derooted from the squad as they will dig in to keep their easy life. Other than saido though im racking my brain as to which players are toxic cos the rest seem like a decent bunch really.

I think everyone needs to takes a step back.
I have supported the club for long enough to know that every time we are on a good run everything is fine in the dressing room which is filled with a bunch of honest players who are giving all for the club.
However when times are bad the Lawrence type stories suddenly appear.
Think of your own jobs.Is everyone you work with a good bloke or are there one or two characters who do nothing but moan?
Even football squads you have been in at whatever level, have they always been full of people you like?
My experience was that there were always one or two who I really did not like but got on with solely for the sake of the team.
What the whole squad is like at Stoke of course I have no idea, but I do know that it only takes one or two to moan about their role, usually because they are not being picked to play, and how many has Lawrence spoken to? Possibly only one who perceives he is not being treated fairly and out come the jibes at others.
The characters of the players are the same whether or not the side is doing well but the moaners are only listened to seriously at times such as the one we are presently going through.

It's no coincidence there's a coloration between Liam's story and the turgid, ill-disciplined performances we've seen all season. I'm surprised there's so much vitriol towards someone that's at least shining a light on it when these fuckers get away with murder. It'll be telling with who Jones manages to get rid of if the summer.

Got to agree with Charlie on this one and think Lawrence is on the edge of desperation here. If he wants to say something then say it all, otherwise it's best to just keep it shut. There's already enough negativity stinking the club out without LL fanning the flames.

Fair enough. Who do you think is the problem then, out of interest? I have no idea who but as I said about Shawcross who are today's role models? I love Crouch and think he is probably great to be around but let us take a known trouble maker - Berahino. He comes to the club as a 23 year old who has never really had a strong male role model I suspect. At the club is a very sensible staid club captain and a 35 year old icon who has played centre forward for England. Crouch goes out clubbing, is regularly pictured in the Daily Mail the worse for drink, posts pictures of his wife on exotic holidays. Which example do you think Berahino wants to emulate? And before you say it I have no problem at all with Crouch, he was great for the club, never let his social life interfere with his football and earned the right over a long career to spend his money how he chooses. He in no way is to blame for Berahino. But perhaps the lack of characters people talk about are off the pitch as well as on it. Perhaps Lawrence didn't go the way of Berahino because he was surrounded at Stoke by strong characters. It's interesting that he went off the rails when Beattie came in. It's my opinion that clubs need good characters off the pitch and Stoke seriously lack them leading to most players acting like teenage boys. I have a ridiculous conspiracy theory that is totally unlikely but I do sometimes wonder whether a dressing room could enjoy seeing how quickly they could break a manager and get him the sack. No real main culprits but a bunch of immature males having a laugh.

Out of interest why do you have such a hatred of Rowett? I have noticed that several of your posts on various threads seem to blame the current situation mainly on his shoulders and you bring him up all the time. I don't put it mainly on his shoulders but I think he inherited a bad situation and made it significantly worse. He had the largest budget in the league and completely wasted it on players who either weren't up to it or didn't fit the system he wanted to play. His football was unnecessarily basic and conservative even against the worst teams in the league and he had no inkling or inclination whatsoever when it came to trying to break down stubborn teams. I detested his buck-passing interviews in which he tried to claim he'd played five attackers (including Allen and Clucas at one point) or comparing the way he set up to Man City and Liverpool. He threw players under the bus regularly but despite his 'blame me' protestations didn't actually think he was doing anything wrong. And don't get me started on his dreary, unimaginative, negative substitutions which cost us points more than once. Can't think of a Stoke manager I've disliked more in a long time.
