He's going to need at least 18 months with this squad. Give him time. Brentford 2 Stoke 1 “Blokes out of his depth. Fuck him off back to League One” Unless he recognises quickly our weaknesses in defence I can see some heavy defeats initially if he changes us to a pressing team overnight. That is very true. After what we’ve had this season, we need someone who can hit the ground running. The choices we faced were either write this season off and hope to get a new upcoming manager, or aim to get instant results and bounce back straight away. We’ve gone for the first one so need give him time. |

Defo a glass half empty person, but I think has disaster written all over it. A new manager is exciting, especially after the shit we have had to endure, but you would hope due diligence has been done. This look fair to risky in terms of our parachute payments run out in a season and a half. Not for me. George we are one of the richest club in England, I don't think the family will be that worried about Parachute payments at the moment I suspect they will back the guy to get us up asap ,and to be honest I think we need to offload some of the big boys and replace them with players that are a fit to the league we are in with a splatter of experience players ,Derby are looking ok with a mix of young and old . I really think you are deluded. If we are one of the richest clubs in England why didn't they properly invest while we were in the Prem? Did you see our frontline last season. We have rich owners but they do not invest their riches in to the club that is mostly sustained around SKY TV money. I think our club will be very concerned if were not up by the time the payments stop. This is why I dont get excited if we appoint Jones, his appointment needs time which we dont have. |

Lambert got neither the time nor the resources. Rowett had nearly £50M in transfer resources but wasn't showing any signs of developing a successful playing style or making a serious attemot at the play-offs. Jones will have more resources than he had at Luton. I hope he uses it wisely. He's going to be expected to do it here ready for next season At least he has two transfer windows to do it, and Rowett already started the job for him with his signings: Afobe, Ince, Clucas and Woods are all decent signings, Williams and Martina no so but they'll be gone in the summer. I hope we give him the backing he needs starting today, he needs a decent budget for this window and a decent budget for the summer too, there are still big changes needed to turn us into a side capable of going on the long winning run we need to challenge for promotion. |
