Defo a glass half empty person, but I think has disaster written all over it. A new manager is exciting, especially after the shit we have had to endure, but you would hope due diligence has been done. This look fair to risky in terms of our parachute payments run out in a season and a half. Not for me. I don’t think you even have a glass. |

Save us going out of our minds and asking the club why they haven't said anything they can give us this information, and then finalise everything that needs to be done RE Lutons compensation and any add ons for Jones. George we are one of the richest club in England, I don't think the family will be that worried about Parachute payments at the moment I suspect they will back the guy to get us up asap ,and to be honest I think we need to offload some of the big boys and replace them with players that are a fit to the league we are in with a splatter of experience players ,Derby are looking ok with a mix of young and old . |

I have some reservations certainly and one cannot deny it's a very bold call (some would say last throw of the dice for certain members of the board/executive team) but as with all managers, we've got to see what he can do.
The signs are very promising, there's unanimous disappointment among Luton fans that we're taking him, his sides score a lot of goals and play with a lovely high press. I take the piss out of "pashun", but after Rowett and Hughes it never hurts to have someone on the touchline who looks like results hurt him or excite him.
Some of the comments on here about him beggar belief, this is not David Hockaday, he's been in League football coaching for a nearly a decade now and carries with him a particular ethos and style. He's certainly got a personality on him and hardly looks phased by a challenge.
A massive step up though, in club size and expectations but I really hope he can cut it at this level.

Rowett wasn’t going to change, he made that abundantly clear. Managers generally don’t. His position was untenable. Fair enough but replace him with an upgrade. I'm struggling to see where we go from here manager wise if this fails, we'll be even less attractive. Give it moyes now imo and back him in the summer. I don't believe a club of our stature can't attract 'proven' at this moment in time. We (The shit show) want a lapdog, I don’t think he’ll be a laptop but I think I agree with the general sentiment. This is a weird appointment. It might be brilliant, it’s a step into the unknown, but following up manager who let the job swallow him whole with one who this time last year was preparing for a trip to Chesterfield seems an odd one to me. |
