Welcome stranger. I have no idea who you are or your accomplishments to date so I guess you may start with a clean slate. Hopefully you have the ability to turn this shower of shit around and the Board give you a some money to work with and quickly. First priority = Defence. Stabilizing that will free the midfield and the goals will come. I feel the same, but the more I read about him the better it feel. Nice piece on him d3d4football.com/a-shock-for-luton-but-a-shot-in-the-arm-for-stoke-city/

I hope he can deliver what he says because the stuff he has mentioned, hard working, pressing, attacking, club values along with his way of playing and his teams scoring lots of goals is the holy grail really for stokies. Really hope he can handle it and deliver the goods. If he delivers what he says and keeps that sharp & alert attitude he will go a long way.
It almost sounds too good to be true
Just don't read the oatcake after we lose a game jonesy for your own sanity ππ€

To be honest this appointment frightens the life out of me. Itβs slightly better than being bored to death

I have always liked Paul Hart and his ethos on the game, never convinced he was manager material but as a number 2 and coach he could be excellent for us..Really hope he comes as part of Jones backroom staff.

I've watched some of the highlights of Luton on YouTube under Nathan. I am really hopeful. Some of the goals are from shots from outside the box which is encouraging. What did look a bit of concern is the opened at the back. Teams were able to get space and shots away but they either missed or went to the keeper. I don't think the Championship will be as forgiving to allow players space and shots coming in.
Hoping for a good end to the season anyway! π

Welcome aboard mr Jones. Unlike Rowett he will have a lot more patience from the support. I think expectations are different since Rowett had time and a large budget and brought in a lot of players...and made things worse. Nothing to lose for Nathan Jones this season so I hope he's bold and has a few fresh ideas Will he have more patience from Rowettβs biggest criticπ€ Absolutely. Rowett was given everything he needed and is a manager all about quick results, he didn't deliver. I've read nathan Jones interview and straight away I'm impressed. It is clear what his intentions are and he is clearly more hands on, especially in coaching and improving players. This is a very different appointment signalling the need for a change in culture, change in our style of play, creating a winning mentality. The passion is clear from his interview and with that determination he will succeed given time

I'm a Pulis fan, but that would make a nice change to the 40-point target. Jones doesn't sound like the kind of guy to get carried away either - I'm sure there would be realism amongst the ambition.

Forget the manager, we do not have the players for promotion. We may not have the players for promotion but we do have a squad that is capable of much more than we have seen in recent months. Nathan Jones may just be the man to unlock the potential. I think itβs a slightly risky appointment but Iβm more excited than nervous. Welcome Nathan, weβll be with you.

So, Mr Jones favours a diamond 442 with overlapping full backs.
Should be entertaining at least.
I just hope we, the support, give him time if it doesn't work out immediately with our PL Hangover XI.
Good luck to him, hopefully we'll be on the edge of our seats again, in a good way...

Evening Stoke Fans
Mr Jones is very well regarded down here. As soon as I saw his name mentioned it was obvious he would get it.
You've probably already seen how he has developed into a young bright, intelligent and progressive manager. Luton must be gutted.
Cult player for Brighton with his famous "step over".
Hughton brought in his own assistant after Nathan's caretaker stint, but Nathan left on very good terms. It was obvious he was ready to be a number one somewhere.
Great appointment for you. Hope you storm up the league, we know how difficult it is to get out of.
All the best and hope to be back up your place soon in the Prem.

At last we have diverted from the usual old guard circle of managers for a bright young manager, this reminds me of when we signed another young ambitious manager from Shrewsbury, Alan Durban. He grabbed the club by the scruff of the neck and got us back to the top division in his first full season in charge. I hope Nathan Jones [ can't stop singing that bloody Bananarama song ] emulates Alan. I hope everyone gives him the best welcome possible and that he loves being manager of Stoke City. Good luck Nathan.
