He’s on his way out of League 1 without our help so I don’t see why he’d relegate us No he's not. Portsmouth are going up and Sunderland will move in the 2nd automatic spot when they avoid defeat in their game in hand. He'll have a punchers chance in the play-offs. It's a laughable appointment if we make it. A semi-literate, born again, God botherer from League's 3 and 4, taking on a club who spent the last 10 years in the Premier League. If we do hire him I can't see any happy end to it. Sorry, but that is shameful, prejudiced, and gratuitously offensive.

Jones is now our manager. In spite of my reservations I like every right minded Stoke fan will get behind his project and hope for the best.
Good luck Nathan.

Comes across very well and from the heart but have to disagree about being no dead wood at the club, one being that dithering speech idiot alongside a number of players.

He’s right about the under performing Premier League players though.

If we do hire him I can't see any happy end to it. I am not the first to say this Gods - but how do you come to the conclusion that he is "semi-literate?" He might not be up to the standard of a Professor of English at a major university, but he strikes me as one of the most literate managers we have had at Stoke for many many years. On the face of it he will be one of the most literate (and certainly one of the most articulate) managers in the league. One thing you often notice about British managers and players is that they often seem less literate than many of their foreign colleagues but that doesn't seem to be the case here. He's a breath of fresh air in terms of literacy - I think you are less than fair with your comments. You've surprised me. Perhaps I'm wrong, I sat through a couple of his post match prezzers on YouTube , perhaps a bit crackers would be a more accurate description, but as I said that may not be a bad thing!

Durham doesn't like us, does he? It's not as if we've dragged him kicking and screaming. He's just wants Luton fans to come on and rant. I feel for them , but it's the way of the world. I hope they get promotion without him. If its pissed Durham off the appointment is fine by me

Welcome stranger. I have no idea who you are or your accomplishments to date so I guess you may start with a clean slate.
Hopefully you have the ability to turn this shower of shit around and the Board give you a some money to work with and quickly.
First priority = Defence. Stabilizing that will free the midfield and the goals will come.

and a good few others Stoke City get it right with Nathan Jones appointment This is bold, this is different and it could well be shrewd. " Jones, a deeply intense and religious man, was given a surprisingly lukewarm reception by a section of the Potters' fanbase ..." Oh come on.
I wouldn't say Gods, RAF, davejohnno1 and a good few others were anything like that enthusiastic.
Come on then smart arse what are my thoughts on him? You obviously know what I think better than me! Actually don't bother, you are making shit up. H

I don't get why everybody is so obsessed with his religious beliefs Darren Moore at West Brom is a devout Christian too but I don't hear or see the West Brom fans going crazy over it if the bloke wants to have his beliefs then so be it what business is it of ours??

On the face of it I'm not really sure about this appointment, but flipping it over it sounds preferable to Moyes, Allerdyce and all the other has-beens and never-weres that were being mooted. Frankly nothing excites me about Stoke any more because we have once again become predictably inept at just about everything. Maybe I've been spoiled by ten years in the Premier League and become one of those fans I always despised. I hope not. We were in the old Div 1 when I first became a fan though, so I'd like to think not. I just can't get excited by this, sorry, but also I couldn't tell you the name of any manager who WOULD have got me excited. Not even the return of The Great Capped One, of whom I'm generally a fan, would have done it. Been there, done that, never go back (though I appreciate with him we did). Maybe I'm all Stoked out and I should finally give it up. Actually I think I'm all Footballed out. Football is not the game it was. It's crap. When the game is crap and your club is crap it's difficult to get excited about very much at all. I hope he does well. My fear is not him, but our players, many of whom are the remnants of the previous season's squad who proved they don't give a damn about anything. Forget the manager, we do not have the players for promotion.

Welcome aboard mr Jones.
Unlike Rowett he will have a lot more patience from the support. I think expectations are different since Rowett had time and a large budget and brought in a lot of players...and made things worse.
Nothing to lose for Nathan Jones this season so I hope he's bold and has a few fresh ideas
