Bob Dylan wrote a song about his first day at Stoke: "...Because something is happening here but you don't know what it is Do you, Mr. Jones?" I've been humming it all morning!

Talksport 2 have been talking to an ex teammate of Jones just Adrian Clarke and he says it’s well known that Luton are the fittest team in League One and the running stats prove it.Said he was the fittest player he ever played with also so I’d expythe pre season to be tough. Nothing but positives to say about him👍Still talking Stoke now for anyone interested

I really like this from his in profile on the OS
"Having come through the ranks of Merthyr Tydfil as a youngster, he was soon on the road to join the Hatters in 1995 - marking the first time that he had permanently ventured away from his country of birth. Jones was unable to settle in Bedfordshire however, failing to make a solitary league appearance for his new club - putting his struggles down to ‘homesickness’. Rather than opting to move back to his roots though, the defender bravely, and boldly, decided to make a move to Spain in a bid to snap out of the predicament he found himself in."
I think it shows a different mindset to most people and certainly the vast majority of English/Welsh professionals.

Please Please Stoke fans if Nathan does not play Bojan straight away or ever again can we move on and just except it , As long as he Doesn't complain about a lack of creativity in the final third and keeps leaving him out of the squad. I hope he plays him and he does brill ,but if he plays and bombs out then at least we tried (again) to fit him in .

Please Please Stoke fans if Nathan does not play Bojan straight away or ever again can we move on and just except it , No. Hell...I'm not sure I would pick Bojan "straight away" in the first game! He hasn't played for several weeks/months and has apparently been told to train with the youth team. Under those circumstances his fitness levels won't be up to 90 minutes and his touch may not be with the other players, although an intelligent player like Bojan will always be able to connect with others. Questions is if they might connect with him after a lengthy absence. But he should be on the bench, and hopefully make an appearence longer than of cameolength. If Bojan gets a fair chance to prove himself over a stretch of games and then it turns out that he simply is not good enough, then we may put our pen down. But his song will always be sung, for the next twenty years at least.

Have any of the players posted anything on social media since becoming official?

Nice to see us step off the pre-historic merry go round and go for something a bit different. Good luck Nathan.

Well, he certainly said all the right things. His infectious enthusiasm, positive demeanour, hunger and determination are all there to see. I'm not sure how any player wouldn't respect him.

Exciting appointment. Fingers crossed. I hope he enjoys the three weeks honeymoon period before half the Oatcake posters decide that he's actually crap I see the Supremes video but for those of us who are children of the 80s...

That’s a great interview. Noted he spoke well of peter and John didn’t mention the rest. I thought we needed a big name with experience but he fits the bill. He’s what Rowett should of been. Humble willing to work hard. I get the long term plan. If he steps up it’s a great appointment He states his aims and culture without the arrogance. He knows he has worked hard to deserve this chance as opposed to being parachuted in Nathan Jones Barmy Army

What an incredibly impressive character.
Even if he had to follow Fat Sam & Moyes into the boardroom interview that would have blown them both out of the water. I can see exactly what Coates Snr & Jnr saw in him.
Hopefully, he can walk the walk now.
But for my money, if we, as a club and especially the players, can't get behind this guy and give ourselves one hell of new manager bounce, we really do want shagging.
Edit:
I'd also back him to take no crap whatsoever from the backroom already here. Hopefully, he's just the catalyst we need to shake things right up.

Probably the best first public interview of any of our managers for a very long time. He's clearly "driven" and very enthusiastic - and being articulate he manages to get his points over very well. After watching that, I suspect most of our players will be feeling happier than they have done for some time. Very early days - but so far, so good.

He’s got till half time at Brentford to impress me. After that he’s fair game...... What’s so special about this bloke that he gets the full 45 mins before we decide?
