If in the future its goes to more fans standing than physical seats how will the concourses cope. Its just about legal limit for the current capacity of one fan per seat at our place. Extra fans will be a disaster, and this wouldn't be our ground, i can think of several other grounds that are very restrictive. Malcolm mentioned earlier in the thread, Safe standing areas require the neccessary concourse size to fit so the concourses will have to be changed if they're not big enough. Cheers. Must have skipped past that.

Hopefully Malcolm Clarke will appear on this thread to give us the latest info on when and where this is likely to happen first and how soon the experiment will become the norm. Didn't he mention it a few weeks ago Fornie that something was being brought up in the near future? Not a fan of standing personally as too many tall and fat people go to football and I end up looking at someone's back for 90 mins...sometimes a good thing , but be nice to see it back for those who do . Although not quite as vertically challenged as you, I've been pleasantly surprised at how much better view I get from most modern stadia when I stand. When I had my ST in the Boothen end at our current stadium I never had a problem when we found ourselves standing on the odd occasion. If ever Peter Crouch or Souttar had been in front of me I might have had problems but most people over 6 foot posed no problems due to the steep angle of the terracing. The lower tiers of the biggest of modern stadia are a problem - Man City bottom tier springs to mind as a stadium where the view for shortarses like me isn't so good when everyone stands.

Would be good if they expanded the concourse to a good size as well, not the minimum requirement again. Doncasters, for example, was huge when we played them in the cup a few years ago. To me it should come out as far as the top row of seating minimum.

Yep. Isn't for me but seem many want it so no problem with it. Like hummus, or dogging. . 😁I hate Hummus and yet to visit the delights of parking my car amongst Readers Wives readers and contributors. More of an Asian Babes with free VHS reader

Was a bloke the width of a small village in Lincolnshire sat in front of me 2 seasons ago. He walked past me once to go to the toilet and I missed 5 minutes of the game. Thankfully back row now with a clear view although I wish Jabba The Hut had blocked a few certain minutes last weekend.

That rail seating looks very impressive I have to admit.
Wouldn't mind Stoke installing some in the near future.

When we played Brentford in the championship at griffin park ...wasn't that long ago ...I remember we all stood on terracing...and that was a championship game...what ? 3 years ago?
Seems longer , because there ground was two minutes walk from the station, had a pub on every corner of the ground and we stood on terracing to watch the match...like as if we were living in 1973 .
But I reckon it was 3 ? Or 4 years ago? So you obviously can stand on terracing to watch the championship.
Anyway it was great .
Personally, I would definitely prefer to stand

www.bbc.com/sport/football/66527541.ampHopefully this is now something being considered at the Bet365? Safe standing in the south stand and Boothen possibly? The safe standing seats being installed in British grounds are unlocked throughout the match, so you get the choice to sit during parts of the game. This is being done now in blocks 37, 38 basically it’s standing for the first half and then the second a bit of both.

Apparently the Buckingham group is also redeveloping anfield so that should be fun when all the equipment goes missing.

Typical calamity for the Brummies that! It seems that they had a bunch of cowboys who “completed” the stand originally. (No doubt they are long gone and Blues have to meet the entire cost of the new work). Then they appoint someone competent to redo it but they go bump part way through!

Liverpools Rd end development is nearing completion after several delays ..including I believe the cladding & roof company involved in the project earlier going into administration .. bottom half is still expected to open on Saturday ..though the upper likely to be after the international break ,
They held their first test event this week , a bit different from when I stood on there in the early 70s on a then very iffy unsegregated terrace with Stoke ..

Lots more room for the far east tourists now then ... It does look impressive, I'd prefer a ground like that than something like Arsenals of a similar capacity. Wish ours was something a bit different than what it is.

The fact that Liverpool are implementing this on such a large scale, with all the emotional sensitivity surrounding it, means there is surely no excuse for any other club not to at least conduct consultations with their supporters.
My great hope is that we will use this as an opportunity to fully redevelop parts of the Brit and make it a home ground that we can all be proud of. I’m talking some actual stand redevelopment as opposed to just converting the current stands and still having the most basic overall facilities.
Come on daddy bet365 you know it makes sense.

Personally, I would definitely prefer to stand Brentford had special dispensation to have terracing. It’s not generally allowed above League One level. I think it’s laughable that the act of standing has been so vilified that people hail small areas of restricted standing as huge progress.

As long as they can safely Deliver on Standing; then I am all in favour of saving money on seats.
Instead, I could spend my cash on looking flash and not worry for my life.

I think you are going to be very disappointed if you expect tickets in the new safe standing areas to be cheaper than seats in the same area.
