No. Why? Closest I got was the fa Cup final. Had we’ve won, pottery kiln ands fa Cup with City ‘TIL I die underneath. Sadly, the rest is history. Maybe in another in another 149 years time😉. If we win the game Cup before then.

For those with tattoos, have you ever had skin problems from the ink? I have very sensitive skin and get hives from a lot of things that touch my skin, so I'm afraid the ink will cause an allergic reaction. Tattoos and tattooists have changed dramatically over the past decade. Gone are the days where you can go into a shop and pick from a board to say "I want that one". The majority are top quality artists, and if you do your research, pick an artist you like and a basic concept of an idea, the tattooist will be able to work with you and design something completely bespoke to yourself. I have been getting tattooed for almost 13 years. I am covered from the ears down, full throat and next piece, full sleeves with hands and fingers, chest, stomach, legs, more ink than skin basically and do not regret a single one of them. They have all been done well by an amazing artist and a small fortune paid for them also. One tip is not to worry about what other people think or what their opinion is of them when ultimately it comes down to you, its your body after all. People will always have their opinions and myself personally, due to the amount I have, get stared at quite regularly. But at the end of the day....I like them....if anyone has an issue with them then that is their problem do deal with in my opinion. Do your research, choose an artist who's work you like the look of and go into the shop to discuss what you would like. Work with them to get exactly what you are after. Remember, it's your body, and what you have drawn on it, pierced in it etc. etc. is completely up to you. With regards to the skin issues, speak with a doctor, they will tell you whether it is safe to have them. My partner has Eczema and had a tattoo with no issues what so ever. You may get "the bug" and be covered, or you may have the one and be happy....

How did you decide on what to get - I know you said you worked with an artist, but surely you had a basic idea of what you wanted, no? What parts hurt the most and the least? When you run out of space, do you plan to get something lasered off to create space? Do you think your tattoos have hindered your job prospects, or are you in a line of work where there isn't tattoo discrimination?

I’ve started having some work done down at the DPE lounge in Fenton. I’m not here to advertise for them as I don’t need to there work speaks for itself. However if you are thinking of one then I’d seriously recommend them. You will have to wait to get it (sign of quality if you ask me) but the lads there are first class. Totally put at ease and if your worried about the pain, don’t be. Times have moved on and it’s not bad at all now

I'm reviving this thread because I found a tattoo art that does stunning work. I never got a tattoo because I never saw anything that really made me want to have one. But I'm enamored with this artist's work. However, I'm concerned about how well a tattoo like this will hold up over time because of the superthin lines and detail. What do you think? Most likely placement would be upper back off to one side. www.instagram.com/mowgli_artist/

Something like that with fine lines will lose sharpness, but that artist clearly has a lot of experience and is going to avoid blow outs. It will hold for many years, but the image won’t remain the same as the day you got it. As far as placement, that’s up to you and the artist, and it should be a location that makes sense as a frame for the image. Also, I think I remember you being a yank as well. Depending on your location there are tons of artists that doe this fine line illustrative black work over here. But if this is the artist for you then go for it.

I've got 7, what pisses me off about tattoos more than anything is when people say they don't hurt. YES THEY FUCKING DO. It's not unbearable but neck, feet and back hurt the most.
I've got a stoke badge, my son's name, tribals and a Chinese dragon ( my first one). I've got 1 I regret, my nickname in olde English.

I may be one of the only surviving musicians without a tattoo. (Nothing stereotypical in that statement! LOL) In fact, I've considered having two done and just keep chickening out - 1) a THIS SIDE UP (With an arrow pointing at my head) on my upper right arm (I'm getting so ugly, it would help the responders out if I keel over at the bar) and possibly 2) A Stoke badge on my left arm. (I just genuinely like the traditional Stoke badge) If I ever get the first 1 I will definitely get the 2nd one. (Don't want to be out of balance)
But I totally get it - I have seen some outrageously cool tattoos over the years.

I wonder if the artist in London could design something and send me the stencil, and then I would take it to a local place.

I have 4 and had them all this year. Does it hurt? I suppose, but feels like an intense cat scratch to me and is easy to put up with once you're braced for it.

Anyone got any tattoo artist recommendations in the city now that’s it been a couple years after the thread revival? Someone had mentioned DPE a couple years ago (still look good on their Facebook), I have a couple of album arts I’d like tattooing (so no mention of the band on there etc...),

If it is the artist’s flash (the traditional pictures on the wall that you see in tattoo shops) it would be normal to do that, but not for custom work. I highly doubt the artist would be okay with designing something and sending it to you for someone else to do, and get paid.

Guess I'll have to decide whether to get it done in London. My husband is Irish, and when the pandemic is over, we'll visit his parents. We usually connect through Heathrow, so maybe we can stay a day or so in London. If Stoke are playing a London team then, perhaps I can go to the game!

You could always ask a non tattooist to design you something, there's plenty about, obviously that would cost you more as you'd be paying the artist and the tatooist, have a look on instagram see if there's anybodys work you like and just get in touch see what they say.

I don't but I wonder what proportion of the country now do? There is a tattoo parlour not too far from me and you can look in. There are 3 rows of about 8 seats like a dentists waiting room and I swear on a rainy day there are as many as a dozen young girls just waiting to be processed. When I was a kid tattoos were the preserve of sailors, plumbers and a certain type of gay man and that was about it Back in the day it used to be the hardcore thing to do. These days you've got a bunch of nerds and arty anoraks who have them. It really puts me off getting one.

Here's a 'That must have hurt' tale. Back in 2012 when I lived here previously myself and a mate were propping up the bar in the local passing the evening away quietly. A few others in as well including 3 girls chatting away at a table. In walked two of their girlfriends and one of them announced loudly, "look what I've had done". Without hesitation and in front of everyone she dropped her jeans and pants to reveal her latest tattoo. Low and behold everywhere that you would normally expect to see pubic hair was a multi coloured display of, well, colour!. Having wiped my mates beer off my shirt we both did the usual double take and couldn't quite believe what was happening as she described in detail to her friends what she'd had done pointing to all the relevant bits, quite extraordinary. Once the demo was finished everything was hoisted up and she came to the bar ordered her drinks and went back to her mates. Who'd be a tattoo artist eh!.🤔

But of a bump, but decided to get another one today. Going to get it coloured in at a later date, with 'poison green' tips fading into a deep indigo.
