Don’t get me wrong, I think the right tattoo on the right person looks mint and can be incredibly attractive. However, I’ve yet to see a tattoo on the growing army of 70 plus wrinklies with their weathered and sagging skin that looks anything other than bloody awful 😂

But of a bump, but decided to get another one today. Going to get it coloured in at a later date, with 'poison green' tips fading into a deep indigo. Is that a tattoo of that roundabout in Milton Keynes?

In 1991 I got my first tattoo, I was 16. Hopped on the 101 from Stafford (telling my mum, I was getting an england shirt), went to gentle johns in Hanley.
It was a Tasmanian Devil on my upper right arm, I then had a bulldog on my upper left arm. Since then both of them tattoos are now been covered up lol 😆
However I have a sleeve on each arm, my chest done, my ribs on the right side, my back, my right leg (calf) & recently my hands (right hand is just having work done).
Most of my tattoos now have a personal meaning to them, or tell a story of personal growth. The other thing is I feel it’s being unique. I wouldn’t have my neck or face done & I find some tattoos can look tacky.
But it’s each to their own, in addition I have flesh tunnels, my nose septum pierced and my nostril, plus a daith piercing.
This year I’ll be 48, it’s my image and when you hit forty you seem not to worry as much as you did in your 20’s & 30’s.

I was looking at getting a tattoo last year, but given the piece i wanted, artist reckoned it’d have to be on my chest or calf, so I backed out because I wanted a piece for my arm, so I’m rethinking what to get in the future. For reference, this is the piece I wanted at first -

I got one when I lived in Amsterdam. It’s a universe in a bottle than was nicely done and is hidden on the inside of my right upper arm. I personally like that placement a lot as it’s easy to cover up when the need arises.

Had a "medic alert" one done on my forearm as I got sick of wearing (and forgetting to wear) the very unflattering bracelets!

I have an internal tattoo that marks a place in my colon where a polyp was removed a few years ago. I'm going back in again in six weeks to get the camera up my backside to check that tattooed area and elsewhere to make sure everything is still okay. I hope you all are getting your colonoscopies when you need too so we can all remain on this board bemoaning Stoke's misfortunes as well as other board members comments for many more years. Worst part is the prep the day before. Do it.

I have an 'I' on my left buttock and a 'U' on my right then spreading my cheeks wide open to utilise my freshly bleached anus as an 'O' in the middle my wife takes a photo and we send them on to Scottish Gas, the council and HMRC when their bills come in.

I got one on a whim when I was about 18 as I went with my mate when he got his. Mine is just black gothic letters on my upper arm that says “Stoke City”.
Was meaning to get the old city shield badge beneath (from early 70s) to complete it for a few years but was always too skint in my late teens/early 20s. Now I’m glad I didn’t because I’ve grown to really dislike tattoos. More chance of getting this one removed than more added.
Each to their own of course, but I’ve got close family with fully tattooed sleeves and I think it looks awful regardless of how impressive it might be as an artistic feat.
Can’t stand tattoos on women. Massive turn off for me.

I have none, my family have none, my daughter will still have none when she hits 17 in three years time or she misses out on the small car ive promised her - when i see beautiful girls with otherwise flawless skin ruined by a cheap tattoo it makes me sad.

But of a bump, but decided to get another one today. Going to get it coloured in at a later date, with 'poison green' tips fading into a deep indigo. Please don't go back to this tattooist mate. 1) They have scarred you you can see the patches where you have "blobs" of ink. Looks like they've tattooed you too deep and have been way too heavy handed 2) The line work is dreadful, way too shaky, some don't meet correctly, some over hang, some lines haven't been tattooed deep enough In short, it looks like someone who doesn't have a clue what they're doing, and if they have scarred you on line work, they will 100% scar you when you have it filled in. I'm only telling you to save your skin mate.. If someone put that on me, I'd be wanting my money back and paying for removal. Please find a decent tattooist before you get it filled in and they might be able to correct it. Whoever has done you that needs to shut until they can competently mark someone's skin for life. Not a tattooist myself, but I'm head to toe covered, and have been getting tattooed 17 years, best friend owns a tattoo shop etc. family members who are tattooists, so know what I'm talking about. Wouldn't usually comment but it really pissed me off that an "artist" considers that acceptable to mark you with. DM me if you like and I will pass some details on for an actual tattooist who could sort it for you.

I’m too much of a coward. Sounds way to painful. Plenty of numbing cream available nowadays Don’t mean to gate keep, but half the experience of getting a tattoo is the pain. Maybe if your only planning on the one, or two, fine fair enough. But if someone who was fully inked told me they had used numbing for all of theirs, I’d lose all respect for them 😂🤦🏻♂️. I sound a complete dick head, I am, but I’ve grafted to look like this, hours and hours of pain, and now you can sit there like looking like a work of art with no graft! Not for me sorry. 😁

In my opinion they look completely crap once you age and your skin loses its elasticity Now if you could get one that disappeared/dissolved after 10 years I’d chance the pain 🥹

My latest piece (hand), is without numbing cream but it’s not too bad on there.

Each to their own, and he’s right, you’re not proving anything, because it can fucking hurt, I just enjoy that aspect of being tattooed as well. I find it a good release and in some places quite relaxing. Some hate the pain, but still want to look that way and that’s fine. Hands I enjoyed as well. Under the armpit 🤢 no thanks, no enjoyment what so ever. Eyeball was horrendous….👀

Please god tell me you’re joking about the eyeballs 😳 I'm joking about the eyeballs don't worry! 😆 I’ve got a Stoke City tattoo on my right shoulder. Had no intention of having one but one of my best mates said “let’s get a tattoo”…I foolishly said “ ok…you get one first then I’ll get one”…a week later he’d got one so I had to keep my word or I’d never live it down. That was 30 years ago and we’re still mates now…no regrets at all…it starts conversations with other football fans on foreign holidays too.
