I broke my wrist totally at Christmas just before the gathering for Christmas dinner when I fell backwards on an icy hill. So I spent Christmas at the Emergency unit almost alone for 2-3 hours and got X-rays done both before and after the relocation of the forearm and the gypsum package was made and positioned. Severe surgical case obviously since 1/4 of the forearm was next to the hand after the fall. But they've tried the re-positioning first. Let's see what the X-rays says on Thursday. What I'm saying is, there won't be any laundry room today. I'm going back to the hospital today as well though, since I didn't get any written info, even though the journal says so. However, the friendly nurse told me to avoid water on the arm package and to move my fingers and try to use the hand as much as possible in daily activities and to hold it upwards all the time. No exercise program given though. However I haven't been able to use the fingers, from the beginning not at all due to the injury (day 1), and then it was hard because of the tight package (gypsum and bandage). I don't know, maybe the resistance from the tight package is the purpose? If my not injured hand had the same resistance it would have the same difficulties to move, I guess. The package is too long, I can't move my elbow all the way as I'm supposed to if their pamphlet I found online with exercises is correct. I will tell them personally today. Maybe they didn't give exercises in my case straight away. However "daily activities" could easily be much tougher for the hand. I will get a work therapist for this I guess. My main physio therapist I had for the dislocated disc in the neck told me to contact them for a working therapist for the broken wrist. Unfortunately, I can't do the neck exercises now. However, the neck is better. I will ask at the hospital today what working therapist they want me to have, maybe their own since they have the X-rays and orthopedist nearby. I've thought about putting ice on the thumb joint if it's a good idea since the area is very swollen. Today it's day 5. It takes a year for the bone to rebuild. Look after yourself and eat well!

Look after yourself and eat well! I have to, noone else does. I've thought about buying more cheese and broccoli.

Went to the laundry room. The shit doesn't clean itself, does it. Met the guy who thought he lived in my appartment. No conversation. Went to the drying room after an hour. Realised he had moved the dish brush and cloth far to the right and the metal plug was also on the right, but closer to the tap. A bit greasy and dirty. He seemed anxious and forgot to bring his laundry bag back with him. I can have that impression on people.

Look after yourself and eat well! Thanks! I'm trying to. Thought about buying some extra b-vitamins, not too much of the B6 though. Just had whole grain rice with pork filet, bean sprouts, onion, red curry, coco milk, bamboo shots and pomegranate juice.

Most articles I've seen focus on the negative effects cannabis has on bone health, bone density et cetera. Before the operation I was given a paper saying I shouldn't smoke or drink alcohol. CBD could possibly have some advantages within this, as far as I understand it, mentioned in this article as well. THC on the other hand, as this article also points out, has the opposite effect.

You can get CBD without the THC, perfectly legal in this country, amazingly the sky has yet to fall in 🙂

I will try to clean my off white spring jacket on Thursday. It won't be easy, it looks a bit yellow, possibly from old sweat around all of the collar but not only there.
I plan to use Grumme bleech salt and Grumme stain remover, and then clean it normally in the machine with washing powder.
I haven't used this jacket for more than five years. Went through the closets to see what I could get rid of. So far only a black mc jacket in cotton. They have put a container for people to throw away their stuff, but for some reason they put it in the garbage room instead. What a waste when we've waited three long years for this rented container to arrive.

Laundry pass daytime Thurs
I didn't manage to get the old spring jacket to "as new". I realised it wasn't sweat. It was a colour bleed from the inside of the jacket. Difficult case. So it looks dirty even though it's not. Next time I see a jacket with this label: "only wash with similar colours" I won't buy it.
I washed mostly towels today. Can't carry heavy loads either with a fractured wrist, even though I used my other hand.
Two things to mention, since nothing looked strange in the laundry room or in the drying room, and the three things were placed as usual, the cloth, the dish brush, the metal plug for the wash basin. 1) a strange little young man was lurking in the dark outside the door to the cellars. He excused himself. 2) then later, when I was going to collect my things, another older man was lurking in the dark in the little passage to the back yard.
🤔 Who were they? FBI? The first one looked Italian.

At some point I'm going to need a sketch of the "crime scene" posted here. It's been going on several years now, and my "theater of the mind" with this whole laundry room business has become murky.

Laundry Evening Pass 1st March 2024
I didn't even notice if there were three things on the wash basin. I'd been to the radiologist and surgeon earlier today, so my thoughts were elsewhere.
Watching Jake and the Fatman now, which won't end until 18.00, so I won't go down there to put my things into the drying room until after that.
I suppose noone else can complain about it, since it's MY laundry time and noone else's?! They can't assume I'm not going to fill the machines again ...

Hmm. Searched for a wrist fracture thread but obviously I hadn't created one. Maybe you wondered what I mentioned in the last post.
Anyway. The X-rays 8 weeks after the distal radius fracture operation looked very good! 🥵
The problem is the median nerve. It's very sensitive, irritated and I have some problems. When I fell and got my whole hand, wrist, forearm and elbow blue (a mega hematom) I also broke my ulna bone head during the fall, it got smashed to pieces, and the broken radius bone was broken all the way to the hand. A ligament on the ulna side got injured and and two tendons. I might get a cortisone injection later for the thumb tendon. He wanted to wait. That's wise.
The movement exercises are successful, already on 75-80% of my maximum movement after 4-5 weeks.
I'm pleased the screws on the metal implant were still attached.

Sorry, I forgot to mention, as I said earlier my mind was elsewhere after Friday's adventure at the hospital. And I didn't sleep good at all either.
But two things comes to mind from the Laundry room Evening pass on Friday. 🤠
First of all, there were actually FOUR things on the wash basin now. The metal plug The light green cloth The dish brush And now also a White cloth. I took a closer look at both sides and one side had brown marks as if it had been in contact with a hot iron.
Secondly, and that's probably more interesting. As i stood there collecting my things I heard a female voice or should I say female aroused sounds. Then after a while talking. It was difficult to hear them, but I know where they came from. The ventilation system very close to the first washing machine. I haven't noticed the ventilation there, I've seen it inside the drying room before - and now it wasn't there so they must have moved it and the pipes since I was there last time fourteen days ago.
Next time I will clean the outer metal parts of that ventilation so the sound comes out easier.

It had those typical burning marks. Maybe someone even tried to set it on fire?

I'm more interested in the sound from the ventilation system. I've thought about it since then.
More to come next time this month.

Musik is this a front for a money laundering business and you're actually metaphorically documenting your washing of money. Some criminals are known to get cocky and leave little clues. Is this yours?

Is this yours? I once got a 20 note completely soaked in the heavy rain. I realised then the paper can't stand water, so no I don't wash any money. I keep them dirty. However, I haven't asked at the dry cleaner's, they do dry cleaning as far as I know.

Friday Day pass
No person anywhere. Four things placed on the wash basin: all organised and close to each other, the new white cloth, the metal plug and the dish brush. And the old cloth hanging on the faucet.
Some white washing powder on top of the two washing machines when I went back to collect my stuff. Worst problem was the stuff was still wet. And still are.
Nothing special to tell. Maybe next time.
This is non fiction.

Tuesday Evening Laundry Pass
A neighbour had the laundry pass just before me today and showing me tremendous respect by cleaning everything in the laundry room thoroughly and had left in time. The things on the wash basin were placed in line, almost like an exhibition; The metal plug in the middle near the faucet, the dish brush in the middle close to the wall, the cloth hanging on the left side of the wash basin and next to it a new item, a white neat piece of a cotton sheet, folded exactly. He'd also open the window for me so the air was fresh inside. Both the washing powder compartments were open and clean.
