Weeks have passed and still haven't seen many of my new neighbours anywhere, for instance the one's on the same floor.
In the laundry room there was a difference. I'm thinking now about what it could mean.
As I've said the number of things on the wash basin have increased from three, to four, then soon after to five. And it was five today as well. But the position of the dish brush was very different! Instead of standing up against the wall as it did during a period or just laying on its back as it normally does - it was now turned to the side and the head so to say was pointing its straws to the nut and screw.
A new beginning of formations - as with the insects a long time ago? A code system of some sort?
I wiped the floor and cleaned the washing powder compartments and on top of the machines. Going down again within 2.5 hours.

I'm obviously missing some subtle clue that Musik has masterfully woven into the current plot line. A red herring? Perhaps. Well played Musik, well played.

I'm most interested on why a dish brush would ever not be bristles down. Because it wouldn't last that long then, due to the constant pressure. π

Our eyes met. In the backyard. I was on my way to collect my clothings and the other person seemed to heading for the laundry room as well, but stopped immediately when he saw me.
It was me and the guy who once seriously asked something like "are you going to beat me to death now?" when he used washing machines during my laundry pass.π€£
Provocatively I collected my things very slowly and checked everything thrice. But he didn't dare to come in. When I went back across the backyard and to my stairwell, looking through the window I saw him sneaking out from his stairwell and to the laundry room.
It was obviously he who had started the two washing machines during the latter part of my laundry pass. What if I only went up to collect some more clothings to wash?
I have a problem with my key lock now on the laundry pass table on the wall. It's very difficult to move the key lock. The key and the lock don't work that well together, so I brought it back here. Let's see if it needs a bit of oil.

Thursday 2nd Feb 2023
I went down there an hour ago with as much as I could carry, since I've got skeleton pain. (The blood values returned today by sms btw, and they were fine. I will begin w exercises I've found.)
However. Things were different down there, in the laundry room. For a start there were three things again! The screw and the nut were removed. I couldn't find them anywhere. And the three items were very much apart. As if you have organised a dinner. The yellow cloth to the left on the edge of the wash basin, the light green dish brush on the other side, the right one and the wash basin plug in the middle next to the faucet, I felt the things were placed like a knife and fork plus glass formation.
What's more. On the board on the wall, the key lock before my laundry pass had no number!! And it had different colours as well; the basic colour was deep red and the colour around the lock where you put the key was black. I thought of a black communist.
And the third different thing was this. The calender on the wall declared today noone celebrate their name, there's no Name Day today here. I've never seen that before! π²
Fourth. In the drying room someone seemed to have left in a rush, forgotten to put the clothing wagon to its place, instead just left it in there.
And fifth. I've got a feeling this is someone who have noticed how I leave things down there, or even someone who reads this thread?! π€ The door to the tumble dryer was standing right out! I never leave it like that! And the washing powder compartments on both washing machines were closed. I always leave them open. So not only the three things formation was very different - the opposite in fact.
I will go down there now again to put the stuff in the drying room.

Musik, do you live in a lunatic asylum? (if itβs not a personal question) I don't know but have started to seriously wonder. π₯Έ For instance, I have a neighbour who ALWAYS walks very fast and opens his bathroom door and knocks on the wall, if I'm wringing out something I've washed so the water drops bounce in the tub! It doesn't matter what the time is. Last time therefore I tried it late, after midnight, 0:55 I think, but then he jump out of bed obviously and ran to the bathroom and knocked.

Correct. Adjusted above. Hopefully I haven't done the laundry the wrong afternoon/evening now. π₯΄ Addith: Checked. I haven't, I was supposed to do the laundry at the time I did. Addith: I collected the stuff at 21.00 yesterday. Turned the noisy big drying thing off at 20.59. Pew!π₯΅ I almost forgot about the laundry when text messaging my brother in a music discussion. Two things. The dust person had returned to the scene. Now it was dust on the floor here and there both in the laundry room and in the drying room. I swiped it up. When doing so I heard a person outside. It seemed to be a man, my intuition and from the sound when he walked. I think he pushed himself towards the door and listened. I moved my key lock to another date, very easy to remember so I didn't make a note of it.

Laundry pass 15 Feb
Absolutely nothing special happened. No panties on the floor. No stranger lurking around outside looking in from the backyard. Noone in the stairwell. No dust on the floor. No strange sounds from the appartment above.
I remember the washing powder compartments were wide open for me. That's nice. I never use them since I have a wash liquid, but at least I can see if they're clean then.
The three things were where they use to be. It was as if someone hadn't touched them for 13 days.

Laundry pass 1 March (yesterday)
A shortened pass since I had to go to work. That's a shame since it was the brunette female hairdresser who had her laundry pass right after me. When I was down there to collect my stuff 90 mins early, I noticed she had already begun to use the two washing machines - on my laundry pass. She wasn't there, just the filled IKEA blue bag with towels and stuff. The machines were already spinning.
This week I've been told the Radio man is still missing and noone knows where he is. A neighbour thought he'd moved. But it doesn't make sense with the name still on the door.
The hairdresser chases me on the board with her key lock. Next time I won't go to work ...
Addition: the three things were the same, but with a difference: they were ALL placed in the wash basin: the cloth, the brush and the wash basin metal plug, and not on top.
Maybe a message from her? She's given upp on me? Or something naughty (not suitable to text).

Laundry room pass morning Wed 29th March 2023
Report on Thursday, the day after
Yesterday I went to the laundry room early in the morning before my brother and I at noon were looking at some of the huge amounts of pictures our mother obviously had in the family photo collection. I think we have passed 0,5% of them during the three hours he was here. I've planned to buy a writer/scanner combo this year to digitalise them if we all want a copy of some of them to print.
However, in the laundry room four things were placed at the metal wash basin instead of three. The ordinary cloth, the dish brush and the metal wash basin plug, but now also the grey bucket for the first time. What was it doing there? Usually it's standing on the floor near the wash basin.
One of the first things I saw was an insect on the floor moving very fast, like a grey striped worm with legs. I just wonder how many spiders et cetera there are in the old basement!? A guy told me noone(!) had been there for more than 30 years. The basement isn't in use for anything. No wonder if there are thousands of things crawling around there. Or maybe a homeless person eating insects every day and hasn't seen the daylight for many years? It might be one of my summer projects to have a look. Maybe the Radio man has got lost in there for some reason?
12th of April is the next laundry pass; after the Holiday.
Addition: My greatest concern atm is the workers running up and down the stairwell to fix some leakage (I assume they mean water leakage, not semen, blood or anything else). When I was about to go to the library the other day I overheard a mobile phone conversation where the guy in the stairwell said: "If there is a leakage, it must be because the gypsum boards aren't tight enough!" When the other person on the phone replied something, and the guy here continued: "If it's the PIPES it's such a hell of a job!" π€£π€£π€£ He thought initially the leakage was due to the gypsum board. So today they are up there again between the third and fourth floor fixing something.
I have always thought the dreadful pipe noise in my appartment was caused inside my own appartment or just above mine or from the appartment beside mine.

Laundry Pass Report Wed 12 April
Was working late yesterday and then back at home stayed up too long as well, but still got up early today and two and a half hours after that I went to the laundry room for a morning pass. Normally I pick the evening pass. π₯±
Anyway, three things again, not four or five, so back to normal. A dusty yellow cloth, a dirty dish brush and the wash basin metal plug, all up there on the wash basin but this time much more separated from each other; one were even partly on the white coloured wooden bench next to it.
After I had put all my clothing into the two machines I went to the grocery store. There I bought two bottles of pineapple juice, two bottles of meat sauce, two packages of porridge, two packages of pea soup, fish burgers and salmon burgers. The packages with salmon burgers were all damaged due to a much too narrow space in the freezer, so when the cashier were to use the scanner the burgers flew out of the package, but he collected them and put them back.
At home I went to sleep for the missing two and a half hours.
65 mins ago I was down there to collect my stuff and noticed someone had put small pieces of cotton on the floor in front of the two machines and the tumble dryer and just one(!) little piece of cotton inside of the drying room. I used the broom. Then I turned on the water and used the cloth to clean the washing powder compartments thoroughly.
When doing this I heard a key in the key lock. It was a little brunette. We spoke a bit. She was good looking and nice. The same key lock that's always chasing me on the board. Apparently though, they are (at least) two different birds, using the same key lock.
Next time I will mention that the only thing inside the drying room that had moved compared to how I'd left it four hours earlier, was the little wagon with my underwear. But I forgot.
Now I just remembered. I forgot to remove my key lock. I might go down there again then, even though I have a LOT to do here (as usual). Or wait until later today. Anyway, next time I will pick a day when I have more time to spare, a day off from work.

Acute Laundry Pass on Wed 19 April
I made a terribly movement in the Wednesday morning and managed to flip my full bowl upside down in bed, resulting in a lot of youghurt and corn flakes on my sheets.
After I'd tried to clean them in my bathroom I realised I had to go to see if the laundry room was unoccupied or not. It was. By a key lock belonging to one of my neighbours in this stairwell. Luckily the machines weren't on. So I decided to go back home and collect the sheets and go down there again to give it a try before the person appeared. But in the backyard I met the neighbour in question and she said she didn't have any laundry pass now and couldn't understand why a key lock with her number was on the board. Anyway, we talked about the noisy pipes and she said someone else have had a leakage and they had been here to fix that. I know, it was the guys who said the leakage was caused by untight gypsum walls. She had heard many complaints about the noisy pipes. I got the impression she thought it was caused by me. Everyone's going around suspecting someone else. Her explanation was the pressure in the pipes, and I said they've told me it's the gaskets instead. I also said they've checked my kitchen and the problem has its origin elsewhere. I washed the sheets and noone came down there during the laundry pass and the person with the key lock after me on the board - whoever it was - removed his/her key lock while I was up for a while. I put my rather new IKEA bag inside the bin since it wasn't tight; there had been dripping water from the wet sheets in it in the backyard while talking to her. Btw, I told my neighbour there were two key locks on the board with the same number on them, a different coloured outer ring on them though. Very weird. It's a mystery, they only use one.
The three things were the same, cloth, metal plug, dish brush. In fact I didn't see the plastic bucket this time. I wonder where it was.
10 May next time.

Laundry pass
When I went down there I didn't know who had had the laundry pass before me, but I found out directly since the girl was still there. The one often close to me on the laundry board on the wall with all the key locks.
She said she would come down there again in a while to collect some more of her stuff. The tumble dryer was probably filled with panties and other stuff so obviously she wanted to get back.
In a female logic reasoning perspective that means she wanted to know if I stayed ... but silly me I went up, had things to do.
For the first time I'm not sure about the three things, I forget all about them ...
However, what's been on my mind lately has been the still existing noise from the pipes and the fact that ... HURRAH!!! ... the fan works at last!!!
It was a week ago precisely; on Saturday evening at 19.30 all of a sudden the fan for the kitchen worked. Why? No service person in sight, no service car, noone on the roof (the fan is on the roof, the same canal for four appartments). And it was Saturday for Heaven's sake, noone calls for such a help on a Saturday, it's not an emergency.
So why did it work all of sudden?
I can think of 3 possible reasons:
1) There has been a dead bird up there on the roof blocking the fan and now it was removed by another bird, or had its own body size diminished over time. 2) A neighbour fell badly on the stairs the night before. Maybe someone cared for him on the Saturday to make sure he was ok, and noticed he had blocked the canal in his kitchen. He lives exactly under the fan on the roof. It must be disturbing. 3) I have a neighbour who is extremely sensitive for certain sounds. He can't stand water dripping for instance. During the day I was in my bathroom trying to fix the ventilation outer metal ring in there with some paint or white tape attached to the ceiling. Normally it's the same company who does the checking in the kitchen and bathroom every fourth year or so. Obviously the neighbour in question heard me in the bathroom (he always do), and maybe he then thought it was the ventilation service company who did controls in the bathroom and kitchen. So he might have been removing whatever he had put in the ventilation canal to block out the fan noise.
All speculations of course, but all equally possible.

Laundry Pass Sun at noon and five hours forward
I went to the laundry room today to discover it was empty down there when I got there, and it was empty when I left. In fact I haven't met a single soul today except for a dog I didn't recognize.
The dish brush was standing up against the wall, the metal plug and the yellow cloth was lying on the wash basin.
I cleaned the tumble dryer thoroughly even though I never use it. I noticed people clean the filter but not the frame around it. So I did, it was like half a sheep made of dust.
What's more important than this laundry pass is the visit from a plumber on Tuesday! At last.
The strange thing is that is has taken my landlord 11 months to deliver the service I asked about 11 months ago. So basically I have forgotten all that I wanted then.
They have started to clean the stairwell again. They have fixed the broken stairs it seems. They fixed the fan on the roof. On Tuesday now they will fix my radiator in the hallway, it's leaning towards one side. And I will mention the pipes in the kitchen with the dreadful noise, at last to a professional plumber, and not to an ordinary service team guy who blames the bad gaskets for the loud noise.
There must surely be a way to find out EXACTLY where the noise has its origin?? Some kind of measurement? Do a humidity measurement?

Report from Tuesday May the 23rd
My next Laundry pass is on Sunday June the 4th, but I want to give a report about what happened today when I got a visit from the Plumber(as I've mentioned him above).
He was supposed to be here at 9 o'clock in the morning, but I wasn't sure the call system to the mobile phone from the street was reliable so I went down there five minutes before 9. However, the only person I saw while I was down there waiting at the entrance door was my neighbour on the fourth floor coming down the stairs. At 9.25 I went up again tired of waiting. At 10.45 I went to Lidl to buy some milk, chicken, bread and tuna. At 11.30 I wrote him a text message to ask where he was. At 11.35 he called me up and said he had an emergency to take care of.
It's actually funny, but he came 11 months(!) after I reported the leaning radiator to the Landlord's service team. He replied he got the mission in April, a month ago.
Anyway, it was more tricky than expected to fix it. There was no chance of moving the radiator by moving the holder a bit, since it was too tight attached to the wall, there were no room. So he decided to unattach the radiator from the wall totally. Some water came out, but not much since he had closed it. He said he don't want to figure out the pipe system in this old building, who knows what it looks like ... Then we both realised how lucky I've been: the holder was actually very loose and attached inside a very big and sandy hole in the wall; it could have come down to the floor any day. So he went for the drill and made a new longer small hole next to the big one, and used a much better screw and plug. But it was a mistake. Somehow he'd managed to place it too high, so now the pipes couldn't reach the radiator. Down he took it again. And made a new hole. This time far from perfect again. And I realised, the best thing to do would have been to fix the wall first and wait a day or at least an hour or two to be able to use the drill at the original spot instead. He asked me to hold the radiator while he tried to move the pipes to the right and he used his tools to do so.
When it was at place straight if you look at it in front of you, you can't say the same if you look at it from the side. What happens when this apartment and building continues to move? A question of time?
And now, even more importantly: I told him about the awful water pipe noise in the kitchen. He went in there and wondered why I had so many little speakers on the table, but I havent, those were packages for my new Ikea Nannarp stands. But it will take some time to have them attached.
He said there was nothing wrong with my water mixer or the gaskets. I knew that already. He explained (like the service team and the electrician had done prior to him, but) in a more detailed way, that the noise comes from the water mixer and/or bad gaskets. The bad gaskets can sound like a mini hammer when the water comes on a little. But also, we have the old type of two-way water mixers and inside of them there are this little spunge to even out the pressure when water is turned on. But over time the spunge gets dry of age and hard, so it can't bo longer do what it's supposed to do and instead it moves inside the water mixer fast to make a sledgehammer type of sound. Since all the pipes here are built inside a gypsum box the noise is reinforced and higher. The new water mixers have another water pressure diminishing construction.
I told him the service team have said they won't do anything about it since I'm not the one causing the noise and the neighbours doing it has to report it themselves as an issue. He said he'd actually done pipe works for the Landlord for 15 years and he thought it sounded silly to say such a thing to me.
The radiator still hangs there now on the wall. I let it do so during the night. Tomorrow I will check for water leakages. If not I will roll out my danish brown leather carpet.
The thing he definitely was most concerned about was the noise from the neighbour above when he was walking. He asked me: does an elephant live there? No, I said, it's a skinny young man.

They will work with the water system in the north so we have no water this weekend from Friday evening to Monday. It means I have to cancel my laundry pass on Sunday.
The kitchen pipe noise is still dreadful. The fan works extremely well now though.

I went down there today before a visit to the Taxman.
I had to move my key lock on the board, since I won't be able to do the laundry tomorrow. I've now changed it to Wednesday the 21st of June.

I've just read Musik's latest addition to the mysterious person in the laundry room thread today. There was no mention of a plug, dish brush or piece of cloth in the last missive. Strange. It seems there are still some issues with plumbing noises and radiators. Are the service technicians in league with these maddening developments or is it merely incompetence in getting it fixed? Curious. I do hope these get addressed soon as my awareness of them, although many miles away in my comfortable home, still raises the level of anguish within this dear reader. The idea of ghostly angular pipes knocking and unknown persons overhead with booming footfalls, not to mention the Taxman. leaves me with not just heightened anguish as I've mentioned, but an entirely new level of physical dread that...that I must admit, I've never experienced before (unless we're talking about relegation a few years ago). Anyway, my God what torment must Musik be living through! What steel resolve our Swede has!
On a personal note, stay strong brother Musik! I can only hope you know there are at least a few fellow Oatcakers out here pulling for you. You can do it! With warm regards and prayers, F
