Conclusion - A percentage of Stoke fans are nobs! Police didn’t act in a responsible, reasonable or proportionate manner. I would imagine jobs will be lost by those acting aggressively. This is far more serious than a debate on a forum! Has above, nobody will even get disciplined let alone lose their jobs. How many coppers have lost their jobs for letting 1000's of Rochdales kids get raped? Answer 0.

I really don't care what the police did, they wouldn't need to do anything of we didn't have this element of low life fookwits following our club. The police should have more powers to incapacitate these pricks. Go on stoke city, if proven on cctv that they were involved in the anti social behaviour..ban them for life. What an absolute redicilous post. Grow up and get your rose tinted specs off. People act up when they've had a beer. It happens it doesn't mean they should be attacked by the police. Calling these lads pricks isn't very clever either. You are portraying yourself to be this all mighty do gooder and then calling some people you dont know or have never met pricks. It makes 0 sense I'm far from a do gooder, but I was brought up to have a basic respect for other people and other people's property. I have evolved enough to understand the difference from having a drink and being high spirited, to being a complete knob, in a gang culture, pretending that they can do whatever damage they want. The sooner they are banned the better..at least my kids will then be able to attend games in safety without having to witness these tits... Hopefully, one day you will also grow up to understand you can't go around trying to kick doors down.

Apart from a bit of singing and taunting I'm at a loss as to why the pepper spray was used in this video?

I had nothing at all to do with the incident, and like you I dont understand why you would want to gode police and kick a door, to me it makes no sense. Like Ive previously said folk are going do that whether we like it or not...Nethertheless it doesn't give the police the right to do what they did. My original post was pointing at the fact it should be used in self defence and not a co-ordinated attack, where one officer makes the decision for the rest of the coppers to spray. That is clear to see and goes against all protocol irrespective of how the stoje fans behaved previously. There was no immediate threat of danger when the copper made the decision for everyone else to spray

Apart from a bit of singing and taunting I'm at a loss as to why the pepper spray was used in this video? Perhaps the powers that be need to look at the body cams etc before a decision is made. The truth cannot be judged on a very short clip taken by a Stoke fan. If you watch much of YouTube you'll find loads of videos taken by people trying to make the Police look bad and by giving a very slanted view of what's actually happened. You have to look at both sides to get a true and balanced view on the events. I'm sure plenty went on before the video started otherwise this sort of thing would be happening every week and believe me we'd know it if it did.

Wouldn’t it be nice if people went to a match to just watch the football. Maybe do t give the police a reason to over react.

If it did that would mean that the spraying was a punishment rather than in self-defence, and it's not their job to dish out violent punishments on a whim. If they've committed an arrestable offence then arrest them, if they haven't then don't, but they shouldn't spray people on the face when nobody's in any danger.

If they've committed an arrestable offence then arrest them, if they haven't then don't, but they shouldn't spray people on the face when nobody's in any danger. Of course it matters because it demonstrates the manner in which they were behaving prior to the incident. Throwing things, aggressive behaviour etc and lets not forget even in that short clip they weren't exactly walking away were they. The video is only really fixed on Police so it doesnt show what they're seeing does it that's maybe why bodycam footage needs to be viewed. Bodycam is an excellent idea as it's there to protect both the public and Police. If they cant justify why they've done something then they deserve to be in trouble but right now it's speculation based on footage from a "fan." In relation to making arrests there are times when discretion has to be used and if they went in to that group and tried to drag someone out it potentially could have made things worse that's why with video and intelligence it's easier to deal with offenders slow time.

There's always the line on here from some that the police have a free rein on away fans whilst ignoring the fact that morons up and down the country seem to think an away match is an excuse for pretty dismal behaviour.
..... and as far as your kids are concerned you'll probably be told that an away match is no place for them.
I haven't bothered to watch the video I've seen enough over the years to know we've got our fair share of embarrassing "supporters".

The police are not above the law(well they are but that's another story) they shouldn't react like I can't. Anyway wouldn't it be nice for the police not to react in this manor, had the spray not been used we wouldn't even have this decussion, some made the wrong choice and should be made to pay. Not losing their jobs though, but to be educated on when best to use this method.

Ive never gotten into trouble or pepper sprayed at a game, but then again i have acted like a normal civilized person, you know following the rules being polite and that. For thise moaning that kids were there guess what my kids were too you know what i did ? Got them away from the situation like a responsible parent should have done as it was obviously a dangerous situation. It may have been over the top but lets be honest here if you go around kicking doors down and antagonisg the situation you shouldnt really cry foul when something happens in return. Same here, as a rule never go into concourse at half time away from home when have kids with me

The "Police Force" has indeed become renamed as the "Police Service". I think that some people have read into this that the "Police Service" is an arm of the Social Services. A senior officer would have been involved here. Lines were drawn, and commands given. Commands given also to the drunken brawling Stoke "supporters".
Heaven forbid that anyone here might one day require the services of a "service" other than the Social Service. You know the one. The one that can actually use a bit of force.

I was pleasantly talking to an ageing female steward before the incidents happened, I suggested to her that she would be better moving away from the area because there was an sense of the atmosphere changing. As I was WALKING AWAY from the area, the police came in and I was pushed from behind,I then turned around and asked the officer if he could give me an explanation for is action, there was no reply.I approached again,he swung his truncheon, I moved away with my hands behind my back then the spray came. Was I aggressive?, YES. Did he feel threatened? No.Shall I complain to anyone ? No.I accept that we all earn a living, and he was doing his job. I Do NOT wear stone island.

Why do they need police at football games. It's some very nice overtime and if you get to use your pepper spray for the first time its a bonus. In recent years I have always had the suspicion that if you removed the police and the lines of stewards so there was no one 'in authority' to dance around in front off for the most part people would simply behave themselves. It's not like anyone wants to punch anyone else these days or indeed less still get punched themselves. That seems to be a thing of the past so its really all about capturing the moment on a cell phone. It's like when they do one of these experiments to remove all the traffic lights in a town and you think it will be chaos but in reality everyone becomes respectful of one another and the traffic flows better than it did before. Try it, trust people, think self service tills in the supermarket.
