That doesn't quite tell the full story does it, I'm sure if someone came in with a big offer it would be hard to turn down, its not as if he's a player that could win you games on his own, like Fuller could for example.

Surely £25m to man city or huddersfield is the same outcome for us.

Bear pit are reporting. Probably good news if true. Sorry if already posted Didn't West ham and Swansea offer 30 million. All this does is invites other clubs to go higher. Club should of not put a price on him and said the only way he would be allowed to leave is if top 6 come in. Why the fuck do our club insist on publicising figures.

fuck taking the money if we want to get back up we must keep all our best players for at least 12 months. if not we will be in the championship for a very long time. looking back the biggest mistake last season was letting arnie go for what now seems like peanuts. do the right thing mr Coates and family keep our best and add to. the team 3 or 4 good signings will see us back up.

No way on this earth is Allen a top 6 player! Those clubs require more than a lot of running around and the odd big tackle from their middle men.

We need to take a tough stance on our players. Joe always comes Accross well and I could see him not rocking the boat if he didn’t get the move. There’s not many of the others I could say that about.

I think the 25m would be better spent on a Championship level striker and a midfielder with guile.

Laughable , hard stance my arse , he’s here £25m gets Him . It’s the most laughable hard stance since John Inman threatened Cassius Clay .Do ed himtly th8nk the price is going up fom there £40m might have at least set a daft bar in a daft market .
Hard stance is he’s not for sale at any price he staying to lead our charge or say nothing, like Demi Moore we’ve just said to Richard Gere , principal established you can have him / her we just need to discuss the detail , it’s as pathetic as it gets in a week when the management of our public utterances have reached an all time low

Otherwise he's going nowhere.

I think the 25m would be better spent on a Championship level striker and a midfielder with guile. But we'll get more than enough for that from the sale of Butland and Shaqiri.

Maybe he is actually for sale but we just want to ensure get a serious bid for him.
I don't agree we should keep everyone. the financial hit will soon become very real and you would need to bounce back 1st time to ensure it doesn't go tits up.
we need to make money off the 3 big players and get shot of the useless, old, past it deadwood. then we can consider keeping the likes of BMI, Ndiaye etc

What a mess we appear to be in, bumbling from one cock-up to another. Let's hope that come 8pm tonight or tomorrow, we have a clear statement of intent from PC and JC (and DC if you like) that resolves any doubts about the manager, the recruitment process, money to spend, management structure, and a clear vision of how we are going to meet our aims with the relatively shorter off-season window we have because of the World Cup. All due respect to the Coates family but if we don't get this vision soon along with appropriate action, then I'm afraid I'm in the let's look for a new owner camp because as many have said so many times, the buck stops with the Coates family who all along have had the power to sort our sorry mess out.

The 'other than top clubs hands off' part is the most important in my opinion. The £25m figure is irrelevant as it's unlikely to be triggered.

If the money is invested properly then i would happily sell. Not because hes a bad player but hes a player we never needed and problems started when we signed him.
Whats his actual role? No where near disciplined enough to be a DM and no where near creative or decisive enough to be an AM. He just runs around a lot, yes he gives 100% but the amount of gaps he leaves in midfield is frightening.

I'd snap anyone's hand off for £25m. He's alright and works hard but he has so little influence on the game.
