Rather watch this as a fan than get mullered 7-2. Besides, they’ve had the Aarons chance to make it 1-1. Are you watching the game? It should be 4 or 5 nil. They don’t look in any way solid against Man City. I’d much rather the 7-2. This is an awful watch. I hate the big losses but accept that they are going to happen as the top 5/6 are so far away from the rest at the moment. It’s the games against teams around us I judge us on. Yeah but if you divert your eyes away from the scoreboard toward the pitch we're pretty fucking horrific in those games too.

Well stop the likes of Man City and Man Utd spending the equivalent of a small nation’s defence budget on their defence would be a start. Pathetic engineered competition who wants to win a handicap, the Derby is a classic for a reason may the best horse win. No whinging about who cost what or one bloodline being too good for the others so being penalised just proper sport not there to make the losers feel better about themselves. I'd rather see some semblance of competition than this one sided shit. Domestic leagues via Arab blood money are becoming laughable.

Somehow we’ve gone from playing some of the best football I’ve seen at stoke AND getting results to barely scraping results playing awful football resembling Pulis times.

You just have to find the money or another way to compete all the bollox people come out with wanting to rig the competition to make it closer just lowers the credibility of the competition. Its basically sour grapes if someone made us into a Man City type we'd be lapping it up virtually to a man. All this locally owned bollox is just that bollox.

So, who thinks we can hold Man City to just the one goal when they come to us later in the season?

87th minute and Newcastle start having a go, and look quite good and Citeh don't look brilliant under a bit of pressure.
They started trying to make a game of it with 3 minutes to go.

So, who thinks we can hold Man City to just the one goal when they come to us later in the season? Not me . Man City could have had 4or 5 but I felt they looked a little complacent tonight even though they had all the possession . It wasn’t much of a spectacle.

I think Newcastle will beat us, all the same! Just got no confidence in Stoke at the moment. None at all.

Another telling statistic:
Richard Jolly (@richjolly) Passes completed in Newcastle 0-1 Man City:
Newcastle's 13 outfield players: 115 Nicolas Otamendi: 122.
Close win for Otamendi.

Quote of the season from carragher.
That first half was so easy it wasn't even a training session, it was a warm down!

So, who thinks we can hold Man City to just the one goal when they come to us later in the season? Depends if Man City's finishing is pathetic as it was tonight and we have the luck Newcastle had. They should've been playing with ten men for 75 minutes.

83% possession. Sadly this is not that far removed from any big 6 v the rest game, home or away. Absolutely tedious. God knows what we can do to change it Simple. You let the big teams get what they want which is a European super league. Let them break away and take the majority of the money with them. Let the money fall out of the premier league and let football return to what it once was, about coaching, skill and ability. Not who has the biggest wallets. Long gone are the days where the title was anybody's. Clubs like Villa and Forest even Wolves being successful in Europe. The league isn't competitive anymore. Man City, PSG, Chelsea, Madrid etc are everything that is wrong with football. Let them fuck off into their own league

rafa has every right to be pleased with that result, considering how many have been conceded by other this year that's virtually worth a point at the end of the season when goal difference could be crucial.
we had more of a go, which was pleasing in some ways, but we finished on -5.

What the big clubs are generally doing now is they're buying their way to the title. Have a look at the top 4. How many have got home grown talent in their squads playing regularly? Lingard, Kane are probably the main two. Instead it's spending big on proven players from abroad or from other clubs. Theirs less emphasis on the coaching because clubs now are waiting for players to become the finished article and then spending big. How many top flight players 30 years ago worked their way through the leagues and developed into top players compared to today? A hell of a lot more. How many players in the premier league now started in the lower leagues? Westwood and Vardy are two off the top of my head. It's all about instant success. Managers aren't given time to develop squads. They're sacked if they don't win a trophy in two to 3 seasons. If Ferguson had started managing United now, he wouldn't have been given the time he was 30 years ago.

The big clubs, most of them, won't want a super league. Lots of them wouldn't be in it - you can't have a league of forty clubs so some would miss out -.
Then those who did get in would find they get beat on a regular basis.
& Even the really big clubs would find not winning the title Avery couple of seasons tarnishes their image.

Being bankrolled by disgusting people just so they can swing their dicks is not why I support my team. If it was I would have chosen Liverpool when I was a kid like all the wankers at school did.

No I think a European super league would actually fold in on itself. Part and parcel of football are the fans. Fans wouldn't be willing to travel to Moscow, Munich, Istanbul, Madrid on a weekly/fortnightly basis. I don't think the next generation would jump ship too much. My son's got stoke in his blood and it's not because of the premier league it's because it's a day out with his dad, I took him down and he loved it. To do with the big time were out of it now anyway. The Premier League is almost split in two as the top 6 are out of sight and the gap is getting bigger. We don't have a hope of winning the league, we get the odd live game and 10 minutes or so on MOTD. The big time now is top 4 and Champions league. We're in neither

If Ferguson had started managing United now, he wouldn't have been given the time he was 30 years ago. The Ferguson thing is a non argument if you didn't move your manager on to keep things fresh you'd hit on a SAF type dynasty once in a generation and every other time your inaction would bite you on the arse, you're effectively backing a 1000/1 shot. Many big name players were exposed to lower league football through loans Kane and Beckham for instance They were coached by big clubs then sent out on loan to toughen them up. The system is nowhere near as broken as you think. Its mainly sour grapes because we don't stand a chance of winning it which I understand but I just don't want to see some false competition because I'm sad we're not at the top table. More investment would help us compete better the Coates' should provide it or find somebody who will.
