He didn't do any damage to Joe and I don't think he meant to either. Looks like he was just having a bit of fun winding Joe up. Why am I not surprised that you are of that opinion.

Can't believe any of our fans are actually defending the cunt Deeney...Beggars belief. It is only alster - so it is only one fan really. Since when was Alster a fan, unless that warrants criticising all and sundry?

Duncan ferguson did less than that and got convicted of assault. Troy could find himself in trouble. He's crossed a line there that you never usually see on a football pitch, or even rugby pitch for that matter. If he got a yellow card for it which I think he did he can't be touched as the ref saw it! Which is a shame because it should have been a 3 game ban for the little scrote! Stupid rule,so if you go out to break someones leg but only get a yellow, the powers that be can't do fuck all sbout it. Like I said, a stupid rule.

Ryan did nowt, and Deeney wants banning. End of. Thuggery of the highest order. Imagine a young lad, or girl for that matter, seeing that picture. A disgraceful episode IMHO. I wonder what your opinion is on Taggart vs Wise. That incident was about 13 years ago so give over.... But wise was a massive cunt so well done our jerry đź‘Ť

Robo did that's why I said "Thuggery is thuggery right?" then I used an example of when a Stoke player was in a situation similar to Deeney.

If it was Allen that had done it or any other Stoke player it would have been a straight red!

Just on another point. I saw a challenge by an Everton player this afternoon, that should have been a booking. The same t--t of a referee would have definitely booked a Stoke player doing the same challenge. I don't think I need to mention said referees name!

Deeney should definitely be banned for that. When you see how Affelay got a red against West Brom, and Ric against Griffin, to allow something like face gouging to go unpunished is not acceptable. Has there been anything in the media to say it's even being considered to look into the incident ?

The problem is, if we made a complaint it would highlight Ryan sticking his head in so I think it's best all round that we just get on with it and keep Ryan on the pitch.

I obviously fully agree about Ryan, but it's not right when Deeney's assauilt on Joe can go unpunished. I dread to think what the media's reaction would have been if it had been a Stoke player doing the same.

What Deeney did to Allen would be unacceptable in any walk of society. If it was as bad as it looked on television the it is a no brainer - 3 match ban. I was present at the West Brom match when Geoff Cameron got sent off for "felling" Claudio Jacob with a scuff on the head - an act which a T.V replay showed was simulation on Jacob's part. Was Jacob done for simulation? No. Geoff's red card stood, though (if memory serves me correctly)

It looks pretty horrible what Deeney did, he definitely deserves a longer ban than 3 games. Joe Allen had marks on his face after the game

The problem with thes bans after the game is that it benefits other teams not us. I think if there is retrospective bans of say 3 games 2 should be the next 2 games and the third should be against the team in which the incident occurred
