Another example of just how close labour and Tory are now in policy. This is the woman who's husband was a tory MP for a decade before being found guilty of being a sex offenders and the tories then made his wife the candidate for the party. 14 years of tory scandal which she and her ex husband contributed too, and now welcomed with open arms in Starmers labour. Like I've said, all the same !

Why do you vote for certain politicians Phil? Is it because they promise things that you believe are appropriate? If they stop doing that, don’t you stop voting for them? What is the point of rallies, meetings with party members, community outreach and conferences etc if not to figure out what your voter base wants?

Nope but isn't it telling she calls tories incompetent untrustworthy and defects also lampoon's the small boat policy Which is her revisionism to appeal for a longer tenure. She voted for the Rwanda scheme: members.parliament.uk/member/4795/voting and has blasted Labour for rejecting it. It’s almost as if she’ll say anything as long as she has a job…..

i dont care about which party but defections do show a lack of scruples
again regardless of parties this is a fair statement
A Conservative member of Dover District Council says he is "sickened" by the Dover MP's decision to move to the Labour Party.
"I'm saddened," Councillor Stephen Mannion tells the PA news agency, "because we gave her a lot of support down here."
"A lot of the members of the association were out there week after week campaigning for her. It feels like a kick in the stomach really," he adds.

i dont know if any of these defectors are good and constituency MPs if they are I assume they fear for their seat at the inevitable culling of tory MPs and jump to th enext party that keeps them on the gravy train
for labour its holding thier noses as it damages the tories more

If that MP wants to run again under another party, they should be allowed to (if the party wants them). To join your political rival who are supposed to be anti everything you believe in is bullshit. To accept them is equally bullshit.

Good to see Sunak squirm even more but would rather have seen her do it by resigning and forcing a by-election. I will put up with this as long as she doesn't get put forward as a parliamentary candidate or a member of the Lords.

She definitely doesn’t seem to fit with Labour values…

All we have known is labour or Tory rule for decades so people are now wanting to vote for change. Whether it makes a difference who knows but at least there is alot more people than in years gone by wanting to vote elsewhere.

I appreciate Natalie has seen the light, but it's a slap in the face to those who voted her in on a Conservative ticket.

I'll keep reminding you about what Labour voters are voting for in the mean time 😉 Kind Regards, One of the few lefties left on the oatcake

The labour party has changed and left wing politicians like Diane Abbott, Jeremy Corbyn, Conor McGinn, Nick Brown and Kate Osamor are no longer welcome. But tory MPs like Christian Wakeford, Natalie Elphicke and Dan Poulter are welcomed with open arms. Doesn't matter how good the candidate is. That's not a left wing party anymore.

Awful pmq's from Rishi who with every passing weeks grasps at more and more straws
Publicity stunt given she's not standing at the next election. Probably worth the embarrassment ratio to Rishi.
Some of her stuff about building homes for the homeless sounds good.
Sadly though this is proof there's no conviction politicians any more.
Unless of course you vote loony.
We will combat corruption in public life by taking part in it openly, we will introduce the Board of Bribery who will set standardised rates?. #sleaze for the many not just the few
Vote Loony

Publicity stunt given she's not standing at the next election Sorry mate but this doesn't stand. We can't use the "oh she's not standing at next election" line to try and justify what has happened here. It's a fucking disgrace that a woman with her views was welcomed into the party with open arms - there's no justification for it at all. And she's certainly not done it just to disappear off the earth at the next election and expect nothing in return. It's even worse when you think of the many brilliant Labour members and candidates removed, suspended, banned from standing from the party. And this hateful bigoted woman can walk straight across the commons and be accepted. As Starmer reminds us, "the labour party has changed", and that it has for the worse.
