From the 2021 census: Across England and Wales, 46% of people identified as being Christian, 37% said they had no religion, 6% identified as Muslim, and 2% identified as Hindu. Around 2% identified as being Buddhist, Sikh, Jewish or of another religion.

Their plan is working apparently. Yet, the cumulative number of arrivals on small boats so far this year, 4,644, is 23% higher than the total at this point last year, which was 3,770, and 12% higher than the total at this stage in 2022, which was 4,162. So the stop the boats plan is having the reverse effect of its aims.

That's not funny but it's funny that they see him as anything but a total fuckwit. He's making a living from talking shit and doing fuck all. Does that not bother local people? I guess he's the main rep. It just doesn't seem it on here, so perhaps its the silent majority. Ask Huddy😉

Although Labour has announced today they would regulate to prevent bonuses being paid to polluting water company bosses. Another dividing line between Labour and Tories. That good but it needs renationalising, in a world where: Dividends including to overseas owners / investors being prioritised over investment (to prevent sewage discharge and no new reservoirs since 1991). Chief Exec’s (sometimes appointed from OFWAT) are being paid grossly inflated salaries for incompetent performance. Well let them bloody well go bust then and we'll take it back into public ownership! www.google.co.uk/amp/story/s/www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-68682198.ampThames Water's shareholders are refusing to give the struggling water giant extra cash unless bills rise. They were due to invest almost £4bn into the business over the next two years, but have withheld it saying its turnaround plan is "uninvestible". Shareholders want the regulator Ofwat to agree to a substantial increase in water bills for Thames' customers over the next five years. Fears emerged last year that Thames could collapse due to its huge debts. Thames Water said the funding plan drawn up last July was subject to various conditions being met including improvements for customers and the environment over the next three years. The owners' initial business plan asked for a 40% rise in bills over the next five years but it's thought that the shareholders may want to see even higher bill rises as a condition of injecting more money. The first tranche of the £3.75bn investment was due at the end of March, but has now been withheld.

It may be incorrect info but I understand that this is the only country in the world that effectively enables overseas investors to profit from its water. Beyond farcical. Like the grotesquely overpaid officials in the water industry the investors have no interest in infrastructure. The Government, the water industry, OFWAT and the Environment Agency all play their part in the farce. An expert said that the regulators are serving the failing water companies rather than the public.

They'll probably throw more money at it to be fair. But it'll be wasted as always. NHS needs reform before more money being chucked at it. Its broken.

NHS needs reform before more money being chucked at it. Its broken. The whole thing needs a rethink. The NHS was created in an era where people weren't living into their 80s as a norm. The NHS and Social Care needs to be a completely joined up service else you end up with the current situation of masses of resources being eaten up by people that don't really belong in hospital but there isn't anywhere else to care for them. Labour is the only party capable of delivering this as the Tories don't have the trust/goodwill to make any changes without a huge backlash. Unfortunately it sounds like they won't be doing anything at all.

i think if they sort the social care side of things , the link to hospitals will have to be part of the solution and hopefully reduce pressure on them.

They snort bigger dividing lines in Westminster than what currently separates the pair. This is how you sort the problem and this is an actual dividing line. Not the same shite wrapped up in a different bow. It will never happen though. Anyone who challenges it will suddenly be a pedo, racist, rapist or any other smear which can be used to turn the public against them. And if the smears don't work they'll end up dead.

I've tried without success to find the clip of Stephen Flynn from this week's PMQ's where he states there's basically nothing between the two parties, Starmer can't have been pleased, I'm wondering if that's what's prompted these recent proclamations 🤔

Why should tax payers pay to fox the broken water system ignored for years by the private companies? Make the private companies pay, then nationalise. Let me see. Because the private owners clearly aren't going to pay for it are they. Let's circle back to this in 12 months. We will see if private companies have fixed it and stopped taking dividends. Or if instead water bills increase by 40 odd percent and its tax payers who are paying to fix it while not seeing the profits. They've played a blinder these private owners. Do nothing for years and run up debts. And then people will no longer want to nationalise the services due to "why should the public pay". So then it stays in private ownership. So then water bills increase and thus the public pay for it and the private companies continue to take the profits. Thames water debts are around 14 billion but they've taken over 70 billion in dividends since privatisation. Taking it into public ownership is the long term solution. Getting 14 billion out of shareholders is a pipe dream which ain't gonna happen. Maybe a sale to new private owners will happen and the media will be telling us how great it is until 20 years later when we have the same convo once more.

So much for abolishing the Lords. And also so funny to see the conservative media agent asking about the honours system for the first time ever. She didn't have many questions about it when Boris put his illegitimate daughter in.

Pass a law reclaiming every penny of dividends for the last decade until the holes in the system are fixed. Regulate the fuck out of them. Ban bonuses and dividends until the system is fixed. Then, when the share price is low, bring them back into public ownership. To do so now would bankrupt the country further.
