It's refreshing to have a PM just like the rest of us that's easy to relate to. I love making sure there's something nice on the table and getting that nice satisfying finish when I make the bed. If that's Rishi's idea of a Happy Ending, he's a bit weird.

Who national insurance change helps the most: Good year for top earners especially if you're a banker. Bonuses uncapped. Pensions uncapped. Extra grand from national insurance nearly. Shame about low earners though. The extra £49 won't go far especially as these people likely rent and face increases in rent 20x that amount.

This conjuring trick will be sold as helping the "Workers" - partly true for higher paid The reason this barely helps the low paid worker is that millions don't earn enough and have their wages topped up by monthly Universal Credits With every £1 increase to low paid wages from NI reduction Universal Credit is reduced by 55P Obviously those not on UC get the full 2% reduction I assume the chart has factored this in.

Talk about give with one hand and take away with the other. Its classic isn't it!
Are people really daft enough to swallow it?

Talk about give with one hand and take away with the other. Its classic isn't it! Are people really daft enough to swallow it? Sadly many are, it's why they keep doing it. Basically the poorest get no real financial benefit, and will lose out from the cuts in public services needed to pay for lower taxes for the rich.

Talk about give with one hand and take away with the other. Its classic isn't it! Are people really daft enough to swallow it? It won't work - people decided it was time for a change after the Truss debacle. Sunak merely been a caretaker and to be fair to him, he was an absolute hiding to nothing. Starmer will be in a similar position when he forms the next government.

Why is Hunt announcing a sale of the government’s stake in Natwest!? He is selling shares at 254p per share that were bought for 500p per share! Economically illiterate.

New Stand Up comic Jeremy 'The You Know What' Hunt has been doing a gig for the past 30 minutes, with belly laughs and gaffaws from the children on the benches, cheap digs at the opposition benches who cant reply while delivering a pile of horse shite of words and made up numbers (£30billion of this, £40billion of that - just not real numbers!)
No doubt we will get an unaffordable tax break for the middle/rich folk, that reduces services, meaning Council tax will rise hugely by more to pay for it, and whoever (Labour) will inherit a shitshow when Sunak has the balls to lose
Have no idea how anybody can stand there and just tell such blatant lies on the performance of the economy, the impact on peoples lives and pockets, bragging about people in poverty being less (I mean, open your fucking eyes)
He has just been goading Angela Rayner with a jibe on multiple occupancy tax - with gimmicky (and as I understand untrue) jabs at her - if she had thrown a glass at him I would have approved.
The whole of Parliament is a fucking joke, entitled twats having a jolly laugh, half of them pisses as farts, shouting and bawling at each other, and people being able to say stuff without reproach, or repeating absolute lies
Its making me angry!

Jeremy Hunt represents a bit over half of Parliament. Don’t tarnish the rest by the current clowns in charge. Once the next lot get their turn, we can call them clowns too, but let’s see. The tories are intent on as much self harm to the country as they can possibly inflict to make sure Labour are forced into tax rises to cover the costs of clearing up the tory shit.

Annual threshold for isa up to 25k from 20k I see. So is that another 5k tax break for the rich who can afford to put 25k in an isa each year?

I suppose after 2 years of double digit inflation 25k is the new 20k! The real shame is they have frozen the tax bands despite the rocketing inflation. But to do raise them would have cost a fortune.

If you're rich then tax relief in another £5k is neither here nor there. A sop to the middle England Sunday in the conservatory set perhaps - but hardly the rich.

Yeh but nobody on a regular wage has 25k disposibal income to throw into an ISA. So really the only people who will likely benefit are the wealthiest? A bit like the tax free pension contributions going from 40k to 60k last year? So that's 25k they can use to invest in their future and pay no tax on. Assuming they are in the 45% tax bracket, that us £11,250 saved on tax a year for them. Yet if you earn (not save) £15k per year you get £49 more in your pocket? So for every 225 people earning 15k. They'll have potentially saved the same amount on tax as one person in the top tax bracket maxing out their pension and isa contributions. It's a joke.

Isa investements are only tax free on the interest they earn. So an extra £5k invested tax free vs capital gains taxable on - say - 5% fixed interest is worth 20% of £250. I appreciate £25k is out of reach for a lot of people but for people who are investing and extra £5k at a time when CG thresholds are being reduced anyway are neither here nor there. It's another case of taking with one had and giving with the other in the hope of pulling the wool over the eyes of wavering Tories. And it certainly won't be of interest to anyone who is genuinely 'rich'.

I thought contributions were tax reductable in the same way in which pension contributions can be used to lower the tax you pay.

It depends really. If it's an anti British statue then it gets a good load too. If you ever fancy a game of musical statues just drop me a dm mate. 😉💦
