They should fund it from their own back pocket with a full reinbursement due when the scheme is up and running. I'd love to know where the money is being syphoned off to. It's an even shitter idea than the latest proposal to raise the required earnings to receive a work visa, preventing immigration from solving just about the only problem it solves - skills shortages. It's like Julius Nicholson's 'blue sky' thinking back there, and it's costing the tax payer billions. The shadow home Secretary refused to say she'd scrap Rwanda when asked three times today. www.standard.co.uk/news/politics/keir-starmer-scrap-rwanda-migrant-channel-plan-suella-braverman-liverpool-labour-conference-b1112094.html

Why throw good money after bad? It may act as some sort of deterrent even if no flights take off. Why commit to abolishing an entire bill when all you want is to get rid of one part? Just costs more public money and there may be no need/point. Easier to pass secondary legislation amending the act rather than abolishing the whole thing as there may be parts of the bill that are useful. She was very critical of the policy and said she would replace it. So that is a pretty clear indication of what she thinks about it. Which parts do you think are useful? None. However could the refusal to say no (which they may well do if they get in) be based around not giving the daily mail something to stick on their front page along the lines of Labour won’t get rid of refugees or they don’t have a plan?

80% of all immigration to this country has arrived under this current government. It has not boosted the economy, made house ownership more obtainable, improved public services, or achieved the supposed goal of reducing CO2 emissions. So therefore is an utter failure.
And after tripling the annual number under Labour, they promise to reduce by 300,000. So it still makes it double the highest annual number under Labour, every year.

It's certainly helped in boosting the economy. The issue is that the boost in the economy has went into the hands of the top 0.1%. And its those people who want you to blame the immigrants rather than inequality. Until that's addressed we will just continue you on the same carousel going round in circles blaming and pointing fingers at who that 0.1% want you to blame rather than addressing the inequality that they've created and benefited from. Also I think net migration actually nearly quadrupled under Labour from around 50k to 200k. So an increase of 150k. Under the conservatives thst then increased from 200k to 750k. So an increase of 550k. Worth pointing out the hard figures. Because if you say quadruple it makes it sound more substantial. But an increase of 150k is a drop in the ocean compared to an increase of 550k by the party which has promised to reduce immigration on multiple manifestos.

I don't think most want to blame immigrants. Government has full control. And so many of those who welcome them are happy to talk in glowing terms of this slave class who serve them.

I see that under the new treaty signed with Rwanda any migrant sent there who then commits a crime can be sent back to the UK.
So Rwanda get to keep the good guys but we get to keep the criminals.
This really is a gift that just keeps on giving!!!

Awkward. Third world country gives first world country lesson on lawful, ethical treatment of asylum seekers... In two years' time the inquiry into this fiasco will uncover the root cause: Rwandan email:"Hello, UK, I am a Rwandan prince trying to access my fortune of £100bn which is currently locked in a Swiss account. I need a deposit of £140million to unlock this fortune. By return, I will happily put up any undesirables you may have in my very safe and luxurious palace. Looking forward to your speedy reply".

Wonder who will get his role? Maybe Charlotte Owen? Honest Robert Jenrick was actually the Conservative candidate for Newcastle-under-Lyme in 2010. He didn’t get elected then… But, it looks like giving lessons to lawyers in Rwanda, back in 2008, helped him get that candidacy. It’s a pity he didn’t get elected, he would have had a real connection to the people of Castle …. Just like the current Tory MP 🙂 Despite the highly dubious calibre of Tory MP’s, they have managed to hold power all this time and destroy so much. www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/rwanda-deal-robert-jenrick-braverman-b2368368.html

Cleverly has just said that the bill meets international law when on the face of page 1 of the bill it says it isn’t compatible with international law. He says both are true! He is lying to parliament. He is a joke.
