I voted for the last Leader with the sole intention of preventing this current and horrendous government coming to power. It didn't work. Howwver, I refused to cut off my own nose to spite my face. It is time for the socialist wing of the Labour Party to do the same. The one thing I would say is that lots of people in the centre wing of the party weren't so fair and pragmatic as you. Plenty of Corbyn's own MPs and party officials actively worked against him, some even going so far as to try to lose the 2017 GE. So whilst it's absolutely fair for you to make that plea to people on the left of the party, I think it would be unwise for Starmer, having actively derailed so much himself last autumn, to do anything but keep his trap shut about unity. He has no moral high ground in this regard and it's not a good look for a former troublemaker - as Corbyn himself learned to his cost. All this said, I wish Starmer well, think he's doing ok, and don't have as cynical a view of him as sheikhy It isn't so much as a plea. I will vote for whoever I feel is closest to the centre. In fairness though if I was to be squeezed I would naturally lean left over right but could vote Tory under the right leader/policy. I can't get excited about hard right or left so it will be interesting to see who is leading the Conservative Party into the next election. Admittedly it will take an almighty shift back to get that centre ground again. This sympathetic ear to Jeremy Corbyn though? Nahhh not for me.

No...I definitely voted Tory. Or are you saying all Tories are anti police. Perhaps you could show some evidence. You voted for a party that actively cut police numbers mate. Knowing this fact, you then voted for them again. And again. And again. It's not that hard to get your head round this surely? Oh Bollocks... What have i done... OK...Now I know what they are up to I will vote Labour. Wish i'd bloody well knew that before.

The thing with Corbyn is that as frustrating as he could be, which he certainly could, I do take issue with the notion that he was hard or far left. He was essentially a fairly run of the mill 1960s/70s Labour politician who stepped on a magical paving slab in his allotment that teleported him to the present day The entire political landscape post Thatcher has shifted massively to the right, leaving him looking far more "left" than he is. Certainly by the standards of a bygone era (which is ironically often mourned by very right wing Brexiteers). This landscape also leaves people like BoJo looking far more palatable than they would've been in times gone by. There's a counter argument of course that the post war years were simply artificially further to the left, so perhaps depends on your personal view. Certainly economically, post 1979 has been unprecedented in its right wing slant, whatever you measure it against

2 trillion pounds in debt and a debt to GDP ratio of 105%! The last figure hasn’t happened since the 1960s when we still paying off WW2 debt! Rishi is talking about ‘sustainable finances’ whilst Boris says ‘no austerity’? Which one do you believe?

While simultaneously quietly accepting that austerity (including cutting police numbers) at times of economic crisis is actually not very clever

If I was to be more blunt he was just unelectable through from his performances in the HOC, to his policies and to his abysmal handling of anti-semitism. The choice of 2019 will go down as the worst ever for British Politics.

I'm not sure how you can quite go in on Starmer when he has taken over the reigns a matter of months into a 5 year term? You're not seriously suggesting that he should be in campaign mode when working against an 80 seat majority. I can't even blame him for not going around wailing about people losing their jobs from a government in which you are effectively unsackable. How does Boris Johnson remove someone for their abject failure? Give it time and hold your nose if you have to but stop pining for the last leader and his ideologies, he failed twice. The only thing I'm pining for is a choice. A choice over and above who is less of a twat. Not too much to ask is it? I hate to say it but the country had that choice twice and rejected it twice. And while I have every sympathy with your particular choice and applaud it in many ways, I choose the pragmatic approach in the hope that we will someday have an actual government which does something for ordinary people rather than an opposition which never gets the opportunity.

How about putting a little context to the link you've posted rather than just a naked link? Perhaps, even, an opinion in your own words? Anyone who clicks on a link like that with no idea where it may lead must be bloody mad (in my opinion, of course).

This one is about excessive Tory disinformation being propagated by, and through, the media, and is from The Independent - a fact which would be enough to put off some of the posters on here. The title of the thread says it all for me.

Stokes finest son and billionaire Tory donor twat Caudwell, talking about Socialism and people going back to their workplaces.
Where do you start with this one, is it that this is the shithead basically banned Unions from his workplace or is it that he gave this missive from his fucking massive Yacht in Martinique?

Complete bollocks, research shows people are less stressed, happier and surprise surprise more productive as a result at home. It won't work for everyone, but the majority want it to continue. Understandably so. Who wants to have to drive 45 minutes to go back to a noisy, distracting, ugly, strip-lighting, open plan office or factory? I suspect this is just Caudwell doing the government's work for them, because they're shitting themselves that town centre businesses will die. Oh the Tory hypocrites are all out doing their masters bidding this week for sure. Look at the state of this blazing hypocrite!

Billionaires invariably have security around them, mainly to deter loony left wing nut jobs having a pop at them, not that I am calling you a loony left wing nut job, so might I suggest you ask the rest of your action group AKA The Qwerty Thirty to go with you. I bet if Huddysleftsandal gets a couple of cans of tramp juice down him he'll be well up for a punch up. But Sheikhy.....Please be careful...
