Have a look at this link which explains quite clearly how deaths are being reported. Maybe you can publish a correction after youโve read it.

Coronavirus: Boris Johnson criticised after โmissing five Cobra meetingsโ at start of pandemic linkNothing to see here. The article sort of gives it away by noting there was other stuff happening in January and February. For example, you might recall JC tearing into Johnson (as much as he was able to do by his low standards) at the back end of February about the Governmentโs response to the flooding occurring at that time. You see, itโs all too easy to remember everyoneโs eyes were looking at other things earlier this year. Btw - have you decided if you want to issue a correction to your previous false statement on hiding deaths statistics.

Just watched Matt Hancock on good morning Britain being torn a new one for his lies and total spin. put on the spot about not being ready for the virus when he said he was, how they were warned and ignored advice, how the government sent out the wrong specs for ventilators that were totally useless for the needs of the NHS, In addition questioned over ppe basically span it and also span the reason for no tests, also it seams that they have no exit strategy to get us out of this lockdown.. I also find it remarkable in this time of a national crises one person on here is more concerned with pols and his political mantra rather than being critical of measures and being a critical eye on this government that lets face it cut the NHS to the bone over 10 years of there administration and in real terms cut there ability to operate yes that is a political statement and yes the government should be held responsible for there mismanagement not only now but over 10 years, we need to be a critical eye on this and not just believe the spin The problem with the Government is they have gone from โPragmaticโ governing(getting it wrong, but saying,โthatโs where we areโ& ignoring/denying your mistakes)to โAgileโ government, which means making it up as you go along, cause they donโt understand whatโs going on. We allowed this to happen by believing their bu!!$#!t & it was obviously bu!!$#!t, surely nowone is still in denial... Hi Bath, Iโm not really in to party politics. I get where youโre coming from. This is unprecedented and the likes of BBC News in the morning asking questions like they have all the answers etc doesnโt help (imo). Plus, demand for PPE world wide and guess whoโs making most of it, China to the highest bidder. Irealise maybe there shouldโve been more foresight a bit earlier. The only consolation for me with regard to government control with this is that itโs not in the hands of Corbyn, Abbott & Co. I think it would be worse. I guess weโll never know.

Interesting read from The Telegraph today... Remember how everyone on the right on here blamed the hole in Britain's finances on Labour for not preparing for a financial crisis which no-one saw coming ...I wonder if those same people will now be quite so vocal over the Conservative government not preparing for a health crisis which was actually predicted, modelled and war-gamed...? I think we all know the answer to that one I'd like to read Operation Cygnus, wouldn't you? Wonder why it's been embargoed?! From today's Telegraph... A 'herd immunity' strategy was baked into Britain's official pandemic plans, while South East Asian nations always intended to contain a new virus, analysis by the Telegraph has shown.
Britain assumed a deadly virus would cripple the NHS and kill up 750,000 people during a secret cross-government exercise held in 2016 to test preparedness for an outbreak, officials have admitted.
The assumption a new virus could not be contained is also explicitly stated in the governments pandemic strategy documents.
"We discussed the levels of herd immunity as part of that scenario," a Whitehall source said.
Meanwhile nations including Singapore and South Korea drew up detailed plans to prevent a virus spreading, with mass testing, contact tracing and huge stockpiles of protective equipment.
It comes as the government formally refused a request for the release of the findings of the 2016 pandemic drill, code-named Exercise Cygnus, under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act.
A senior Whitehall official involved in drawing up Cygnus, a major test of this countryโs pandemic preparations held in October 2016, admitted lessons from other countries had been โentirely ignoredโ.
โEverything we planned for was based on the idea that a disease would kill lots and lots of people,โ the official told the Telegraph.
โWe didnโt spend a lot of time exploring how we could prevent it in the first place. Instead we looked at how we could build up mortuary space and intensive care beds after it had already spread.
โI canโt remember that we ever discussed what they were doing in South Korea and places like that. It simply wasnโt on our radar. We were sort of ploughing our own furrow.
โGiven the current lack of testing capacity and PPE, you could say that was a mistake.โ
Exercise Cygnus discovered that Britain would be quickly overwhelmed by a major outbreak amid a shortage of critical care beds, morgue capacity and personal protective equipment.
The Department of Health refused to release the Cygnus report, despite calls from senior MPs.
Analysis by this newspaper shows major disparities between preparations taken by the UK and other nations across the world.
While nations in the Asia Pacific region make up 9 percent of the worldโs population, they have only experienced 1 percent of the cases, and less than 1 percent of the deaths. Britain, meanwhile, is expected to suffer the highest death rate in Europe.
Many Asian nations had already drawn up plans for mass testing using networks of public laboratories to chart the spread of disease, and prevent it spreading, according to documents seen by the Telegraph.
South Korea, which has conducted more tests per head of the population than any other country, already had 17 regional and local labs in place ahead of the pandemic.
โDuring the early stages of the pandemic when testing volume is heavy, private facilities may be used to perform RT-PCR tests for the detection of new cases of infectionโ, its planning document notes.
Britain's pandemic plan, updated after the swine flu pandemic of 2009 took a different view.
โIt will not be possible to stop the spread of, or to eradicate, the pandemic influenza virus, either in the country of origin or in the UK, as it will spread too rapidly and too widelyโ, says the UK Influenza Pandemic Preparedness Strategy.
โThe expectation must be that the virus will inevitably spread and that any local measures taken to disrupt or reduce the spread are likely to have very limited or partial success at a national level and cannot be relied on as a way to โbuy timeโ.
South East nations also built up huge stockpiles of personal protective equipment after suffering outbreaks of SARS and MERS in the early 2000s, the documents show.
In Taiwan, families were advised to build up their own supplies of masks and gloves, while Singapore said all workplaces should stockpile protective gear.
Taiwan also developed a policy of โshelteringโ - a detailed plan for a complete lockdown.
Nearly all the Asian countries, including Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand, also had preparations in place for contact tracing to help stop the disease spreading.
A Department of Health spokesperson said: โThe coronavirus outbreak calls for decisive action, at home and abroad, and the World Health Organisation recognises that the UK is one of the most prepared countries in the world for pandemic flu.
โAs the public would expect, we regularly test our pandemic plans and the learnings from previous exercises have helped allow us to rapidly respond to COVID-19. We are committed to be as transparent as possible, and in publishing the SAGE evidence the public are aware of the science behind the governmentโs response.โ

Don't get me wrong on this this is an international disaster the type that we have seen before this is both economic and health beyond this governments control to some extent however it got me thinking about a financial disaster similar the sub prime crash and the response of some posters on here still to that crash.and the blame game they still to this day attribute to an incident outside of the government control. lets now go forward to a few years time national debt record high and finances down the drain I bet they will be the ones shouting the loudest to defend this government and there two faced stance will be open for all to see.
for the record I think that the record amounts spent to protect jobs is correct as I thought the record amounts to save the banking sector was right too what I think im trying to say is don't ever mention this again roger et el.

If this news is true that has just been aired on the bbc and lets face it they tories have a track record of doing this it is despicable especially at this time.
because of all the criticism that they have received it appears that the government have set up a number of fake facebook profiles praising boris and the government using pictures of NHS staff with fake profiles and names. This is absolutely disgusting if it can be proven beyond a doubt

Apparently one of these doctors was in a trade union ffs. Well fuck me, what a bastard.
Typical Trump playbook, no comment or dismissal of the issues raised.
This Government has caused the death of medical professionals due to their complete negligence, ideological attachment to austerity and their downgrading of the pandemic, a pure act of evil self preservation.
They are scum.
