This is an incredibly interesting thread to read. It might seem to be a bit confusing to follow at first but it begins with the report last January in The Times about the infamous ABBA party, then moves through possible scenarios before finishing on the rumours flying around Twitter today, that the VIP guest could actually be a member of the Royal Family!
Not sure how much, if any, of it is true but it can't be denied, that Sue Grey said she didn't investigate that specific party in order to allow the Met to but ultimately they left it alone and the Parliamentary Committee seemingly didn't want to go anywhere near it also.
If any of it is true, maybe that would suggest why the PC seemingly appeared to have already made their mind up over Johnson's guilt?

Another loon who needs to fuck off pronto What a mess we've allowed our country to become! How the fuck have so called 'news' channels been allowed onto our airwaves, that are nothing more than right wing propaganda machines funded by Russian Oligarchs and non dom newspaper barons. She is a SITTING MP ffs, how on earth is what she has said there not a contempt of Parliament and/or a breach of OFCOM regulations? I haven't ever referred to the word fascism before when referencing what's going on but sincerely, this is exactly how it started.

Then again, neither is OFGEM, OFWAT ...any more?

Following on Paul - Hmmm..... Are you suggesting the Dancing Queen-(Consort) could have attended the ABBA Party on 13th November 2020 in No 10 Flat? The Party was raised in HoC by Catherine West to audible groans. To be fair BBC quite frequently play the clip but don't provide context parliamentlive.tv/event/index/0520c7da-d876-4a41-84c3-110b0509bf61?in=12:28:42Surely this is not a Feudal State where the Sue Grey, Privileges Committee and Met Police Enquiries could have all been told to back off .... is that possible in a Democracy?

Looking at what is happening in France at the moment with their pension protests, it does make me wonder why the public in England are so subservient and passive.
The corruption and double standards of this government are clear to see. They are not even trying to hide it now. Then we have the blatant lies and hypocrisy which we are constantly fed. Partygate (which angers me incredibly) characterises the contempt that the government have for normal people.
Despite this, there is no public outrage or anger. We just shrug and carry on as normal.
Why are we so passive? Why do so few people actually care?
I read this morning that the French retirement age (even if it goes up) is less than here in the UK and they already have better pensions than us. They are protesting at something that is still better than what we already have in this country (and which people are content with).

In France, they blame the government, whereas here, we tend to believe that we should be blaming somebody else.

They have a name for their “3rd age”. It’s not just something to look forward to, it’s considered a birth right as a French citizen. The French pay a huge portion of their salary as tax so that they can retire early and in relative comfort. I do think it means more to them and the way that Macron has gone about it has been a major issue as well: amp.theguardian.com/world/2023/mar/16/emmanuel-macron-uses-special-powers-to-force-pension-reform-france

This goes back a long way, Wat Tyler's failed peasant revolt cemented the default to the heriarchy mentality that is embedded in English culture The French had a revolution we complained about the Corn Laws There are still millions of English people who think the Empire was a good thing and prefer Public School characters to be in charge

We're going to pay for years for the damage that these shysters did to our country with the Truss budget, yet somehow, Littlewood (the man responsible for it) is about to be made a Lord!
It absolutely stinks how they continue to shit all over us, despite Truss being thoroughly discredited, they really have zero shame.

It should be a simple interview with people like this: Interviewer: "Who funds you?" Littlewood: No answer Interviewer: "We'll leave it there then thanks for your time"

In an attempt to prove that all this talk of fascist manipulation by the Tory party is complete baloney, Sunak bans ALL press, TV, radio and public from the Tory party spring conference! 🤦♂️
