Well they weren't voted in because of their manifesto: Extra funding for the NHS, with 50,000 more nurses and 50 million more GP surgery appointments a year. - Failed 20,000 more police and tougher sentencing for criminals. - Failed An Australian-style points-based system to control immigration. - Already existed under labour. Re-used existing system. Millions more invested every week in science, schools, apprenticeships and infrastructure while controlling debt. - Failed Reaching Net Zero by 2050 with investment in clean energy solutions and green infrastructure to reduce carbon emissions and pollution. - Failing We will not raise the rate of income tax, VAT or National Insurance. - Failed Getting Brexit done. Investing in our public services and infrastructure. Supporting workers and families. Strengthening the Union. Unleashing Britain’s potential. - Failed (With the exception of "getting brexit done" which is a huge failure in itself) Wait until Starmer I've been a vocal critic of Starmer for a while and continue to do so. It will be difficult for others though who have turned a blind eye to years of corruption to then suddenly impose strict standards on Starmer after imposing none on the tories. If he turns out crap I'm confident that those who are critical of the current government will be just as critical of Starmer. Not everyone bases their politics on the name of the party.

Just seen someone post this on another forum which is pretty accurate of my own views that is quite well put. i just hope when we eventually have a general election, labour puts up a fight. one would think after 12 years of tory rule and 12 years of total decline in the country that it'd be a landslide but i know enough people claiming the tories are socialists to this day that it's concerning.

No doubt fresh from a flight on one of his four private jets (which he probably travelled to in one of his plethora of Porsches), this is just the kind of bullshitter this ballsack of a Government needs to help them "transition to net zero"

the next general should be disastrous for the tories, and rightly so. over a decade of utter incompetence ruining the nation will come back to haunt them. can't wait.

Sounds like a good thing but could also leave relatively open goals for embarrassments like Gullis to enter politics, not that he'll be in it for much longer himself.

British spy being sentenced for leaking secrets to Russia on bbc today.
First of many I'm guessing. Surely won't be long till Boris and the rest of the russian conservative party are up for similar treason.

Re Serco. I was in hospital recently and when I was discharged, I asked if a porter could take me and my stuff to the reception area because it was too far for me to walk there. He came along and we got chatting along the way and I offered my support to him and said I think he and his ilk were being treated badly by this government. I was shocked when he told me he wasn't employed by the NHS. He said he worked for Serco and they charged £40 for every patient they moved from A to B. It's disgusting how private companies are ripping us off and the actual NHS is starved of cash.
OS.

Young is either as thick as fuck, or he believes his constituents are as thick as fuck. Whichever it is, it's not a good look.

Their revenue increased by half a billion pounds in 2021. And people wonder why the pandemic lasted as long as it did. Two weeks to flatten the curve my arse.

The energy companies come to mind.. come to think of it pretty much every area of the public purse is infected with the same disease. Still as long as the rich keep getting richer, it's all good eh?

i can't understand those pushing for privatisation of so many public services. take a look at the yanks, how's healthcare going for them? the tories are a national disgrace and should be held accountable for robbing the NHS.

State owned energy company just announced over one billion pounds profit in UK market.
Good news for French Government, not so good for UK energy users.

I think the starmer thread itself is a bit of a testemant to this opinion Even if it were ever true the days when "Good Chaps" entered Public Service as a Noble Calling to "Serve the Nation" are well gone. The Rules governing disclosure of secondary employments as a Minister or Backbench MP are not fit for purpose Realistically, even if many won't admit it, the basic salary of an MP is far less than many could earn outside Parliament. Therefore the motivation of many will be to climb the greasy pole as high as possible and if attaining Official Office refrain from the most egregious abuses in the knowledge that out of office the sacrifice will be rewarded. If remaining on the backbench fringes of office then you have free reign to become a Committee Member of whichever Interest Group will reward you best for your influence I make little distinction between the Parties but it does appear that Tory MPs pursue this with more vigour than others

From that left wing bible ... www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-11762393/Britains-crumbling-NHS-SEWAGE-leaking-cancer-wards-maternity-units-Es.html"Sewage is leaking into cancer wards, maternity units and A&E departments, according to a damning audit of England's crumbling NHS hospitals. Urine and faecal matter have been found seeping into wards, pouring through ceilings and spewing out of drains, with one hospital trust recording 105 sewage leaks in 2022 — almost one every three days. Patients have slipped on the sewage while staff have become ill, complaining of headaches and nausea from the smell."
