Can't see Johnson standing - and risking the humiliation of not getting enough votes to go through to the final 2 That effectively makes it a match doesn't it. Very hard to get 3 in under these rules. Could be a coronation if someone were to get 158.

Easy to say from a safe seat. But it's starting. Doubt this will make him popular amongst his red wall colleagues who are a p45 in waiting.

That's funny I made exactly the same point as you a few weeks ago, along the lines that you need to be careful what you wish for - changing things could make them worse. I was criticised for proposing no change, which I wasn't, I was merely pointing out things could get worse. As for coming from nowhere, thankfully Farage came from nowhere and got us out of the EU indirectly by forcing the issue in the Tory Party, which was against Brexit under Cameron. So the apple cart can be upset by an "outsider/new comer" not in the main parties. Farage struck a chord with enough of the population to upset the established parties. Farage. For a good Christian you choose some odd bedfellows Mr Coke. Putin and Trump were/are also anti-EU, and were delighted with Brexit and hoped more would follow. You can see why. It makes Europe and it's countries weaker (however so far it's only us that's been daft enough) Still - if you want to use your spare time doing the bidding of psychopathic criminal billionaires I guess that's your business. I suppose you could say Brexit is a broad church with supporters from the left and right. I am quite capable of making up my own mind without doing anyone's bidding apart from my Christian conscience. I used to support EEC membership but experience led me to a different view. A view made all the more passionate since 2016 and the forces at work to overturn the referendum. There are many Christians take different views on Brexit. There are extreme views in favour of Brexit such as David Hathaway (see YouTube The Rape Of Europe), and those diametrically opposed like James O'Brien. Then there are those like my self who are not bigots but prepared to change their view. www.premierchristianity.com/home/i-voted-remain-but-now-i-think-brexit-will-safeguard-our-christian-freedoms/927.articleThe problem with politicians is once you give them power they want to impose their will on everything and quite prepared to change policy to retain power, so it is imperative that we the people retain the means of removing them, even if it means waiting till an election. How many of the present government voted to Remain because they thought Remain would win, but then support Brexit, when Leave won the referendum. Consequently we get muddled thinking.

My Mum and I have been arguing about politics since the days of Heath, Wilson and the original 'Til Death Do Us Part. (She was on the Alf Garnet side of the argument, while I was probably more in tune with "The Scouse Git". She would support anyone with a pulse as Tory leader and saw them all as beyond criticism, because of the "difficult job" they have to do, so imagine my surprise when I met her earlier today to discover that even she thinks Liz Truss was absolutely useless and a total waste of space and that she is glad to see her go. I am stunned!

Having not apologised for any of his wrong doings he then spent his last few weeks doing no good whatsoever and then finally he went on holiday while Parliament is sitting but now he is now the best person to lead this country. What a moronic party they really are.

We elect a party not a leader. We elected boris’s manifesto
That’s what the next leader should be pushing
Or an immediate election.
I feel the conservatives need time in opposition to get themselves together. Get rid of the criminals and come back stronger.
Unfortunately I do t think labour can win a landslide. And they will prop themselves up with the snp for power
God help us

I agree with you, but Last week I was talking to a business women who runs her own business and has sideline interest like renting out property she owns. She raised the subject of Truss's behaviour, and said " I know he's a lier but I miss Boris".My brother in law frequents pubs, which I don't, and tells me there is a lot of support for Johnson still. The "problem" with democracy is everyone gets just one vote, all opinions are equal, there is no acceptable alternative. He’s a criminal who committed offences whilst he was in power Those offences were breaking the lockdown rules he steadfastly defended and told the police to clamp down heavily on others committing those same offences He also lived in the house that had the most fixed penalties issued to it in the whole of the United Kingdom for breaking those rules Please please fucking please stop defending that twat Don't forget going missing during the early days of covid, when COBRA sat, the multiple affairs whilst in office, purposefully lying to the commons, lying to the queen, and when foreign secretary, ditching his security, and going to an italian villa owned by a russian spy and full of prostitutes. And generally doing his own thing, with little regards to the public, and their safety.

Regardless on the views of truss and I’m no fan Tories elect a leader she deserved the backing of her MPs. It’s pretty much a coup. Gutless cunts They need a prolonged period of reflection in opposition a coup because she cost the bank of england £60bn, and millions of mortgage payers are now hundreds of pounds worse off monthly, with their money going to banks, not the immediate economy with disposable income. Also, not forgetting she refused to put in place a windfall tax on her ex-employers to ease the public's energy bills. seems fair, i hope she never comes back.

I feel the conservatives need time in opposition to get themselves together. Get rid of the criminals and come back stronger. Unfortunately I do t think labour can win a landslide. And they will prop themselves up with the snp for power God help us Here's the manifesto "Extra funding for the NHS, with 50,000 more nurses and 50 million more GP surgery appointments a year" Well this promise hasn't been met with more public spending cuts on the way. And NHS with record waiting times and some people waiting near 24 hours for ambulances. "20,000 more police and tougher sentencing for criminals." We had 170k police officers in 2010. This number has never been reached again since the Torys took over. And the population has grown significantly too. We have a lot less police officers per 100k than we did under labour. "An Australian-style points-based system to control immigration." Well we already had this as Labour introduced it in 2008 for non EU residents and its a carbon copy of that - commonslibrary.parliament.uk/research-briefings/cbp-8911/#:~:text=A%20points%2Dbased%20immigration%20system,system%20for%20non%2DEU%20immigration. "Millions more invested every week in science, schools, apprenticeships and infrastructure while controlling debt." More public spending cuts. I read of a principal in Devon who has his mum and sister helping out for free due to cuts. "Reaching Net Zero by 2050 with investment in clean energy solutions and green infrastructure to reduce carbon emissions and pollution." Didn't they just vote against banning fracking? And it seems net zero is back on the table for debate too. "We will not raise the rate of income tax, VAT or National Insurance." Oh look another lie as this did go up. So what are you actually voting for? A fantasy manifesto which is just a load of lies? Torys gonna tory. You're getting gas lit.

There surely aren't 100 Tory MPs who would go for Boris, are there?
Just when you think there are no depths they won't sink to. You just know there will be. Staggering.
And if he gets to the members, he'll piss it
