This is the same Miss Trust that does not need an ethics advisor because she knows how to behave properly, she always does the right thing. I wonder what Mark Field’s ex-wife would have to say about that.

What next - Mark Butcher gives us his opinion on Israel/Palestine? John Crawley shares his 10 steps to driving down inflation? Alan Mullally on the demise of neoliberal consensus across the West?

I guess the thing is, it’s Lord Botham these days. Mad as a box of frogs, but his voice does carry some weight. Which isn’t particularly reassuring. But, then again, he’s not likely to be the only fruitcake in the House of Lords (or indeed the other place).

Met him once hes a prick and a narcissist of the highest order only thinks what's best for Ian Did you take the opportunity to tell him that? Probably not wise, bloke I was in the forces with years ago jokingly asked Botham if he wanted his autograph on a night out, Botham and his mate took him down an alley and between them they gave him a beating. He'd probably heard the line numerous times but I think it was just a 'slight' bit of an overreaction.

I wonder what it was that attracted Boris Johnson to ennoble the philandering, drug-taking Botham who apparently likes beating people up...?

I knew the bloke for about 20 years and worked with him after we left the forces. He genuinely used to get people buying him a beer when they found out who he was because of the Botham thing But hey, if it suits you to believe it's all made up there ain't much I can do

Not sure Emily can take much of a high ground on this one. She ceratinly knew which side her bread was buttered She's not taking the high ground though is she? She resigned her position at the BBC and she is exposing what she believes went on. It's quite clear that she was a part of it, I don't for a moment think she's trying to claim that she's "whiter than white".

Takes the sting out of things for me. She worked under it long enough.
