Another day.... The company is Chartwell’s, owned by the Compass Group. Paul Walsh is the chairman, former Cameron business advisor and Tory donor. CEO is Dominic Blakemore by the way, another Tory donor it seems........

CEO is Dominic Blakemore by the way, another Tory donor it seems........ No doubt about it; Tories are evil. Your sarcasm literally goes in one ear and out of the other. The levels of cronyism around PPE and various government contracts would be a national scandal in some countries. It's no skin of your nose though is it, doesn't affect you.........

Remember when Bluffer fucked off to Chequers for a few weeks during the first lockdown of staying at home, no unessential travel etc. Now off cycling wherever he feels like...

Highlighting under privileged kids not being fed under this Tory government is now classed as “whining”. What a take....... Your whining about the people who run the company. As I say, let’s see what the company has to say. Maybe they are behaving like twats. If so, they’ll get both barrels from me. Maybe they can provide a reasonable explanation. If so, fair enough. You’ve already decided however, based on the political affiliation of some of the folk that run the company, that they are culpable. That’s my take.

I'm opposed to all individuals linked to big corporations donating money to political parties of all colours, especially when they by sheer coincidence repeatedly get given mutli million pound contracts on the back of it. And I've said exactly the same about Starmer who is keen to take Labour in the same direction. But you knock yourself out.......

I can see no evidence in that article to suggest that this is blatant corruption. They say it is a short term measure designed to protect the sugar beet harvest which has yielded up to 80%?? less than planned in recent years due to insect manifestation. The article also mentions that France has also approved the use of the same pesticide on a similar short term basis. I am no fan of this govt. and accept that they seem to look after their friends e.g PPE and covid contracts but this news item falls short of blatant corruption in my opinion based on the links provided. I don't think it's corruption either, just another example of Brexit bullshit and the general direction of travel we're heading as a country... In 2017, Michael Gove, the then Environment Secretary, welcomed the move to ban these pesticides and promised that "unless the scientific evidence changes, the Government will maintain these increased restrictions post-Brexit". Oh well, we'll just have to let the bees go... Quite right. Another example of Brexit bullshit... France approves three-year use of controversial pesticide. So, contrary to reports, the pesticide is not banned in the EU and the UK was always entitled to use it pre-Brexit. Apparently 10 EU countries have been using it since 2018.

Who is culpable for this particular hamper. Is this a one off or is it standard practice. The question therefore is not justifying the content of that hamper - it’s clearly wrong. The question that needs answering is how did it happen.

Car crash imminent.

Such as why provide people with food hampers rather than appropriate food vouchers. BTW - as I understood it, the company provides raw materials with guidance on how to cook with it. That seems eminently sensible. A variation on that old saying... Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime. (I'm assuming that they have access to an cooker - if not one should be provided).

So, if they have problems affording the cost of cooking they’ve got much bigger problems staying warm.

The schools are distributing these packages so you have to wonder why they aren't raising issues before now.
