Well no car crash Not sure what it was but she seems to have polished the act a bit She seems to have taken a leaf out of bluffer's book and decided not to answer a single question! And as for clarity of message! Even the hard right Murdoch acolytes were unimpressed

Even the hard right Murdoch acolytes were unimpressed In fairness, it’s a tough gig. It’s so easy to ask questions that are almost impossible to answer satisfactorily. On the other hand, she’s in a senior and important position she should be able to respond in a competent manner. Then again, she ain’t the first politician to fail that test.

Isolated incident? Of course it isn't. The pure greed and abusive practices that are the hallmark of this Government and their buddies Your usual well balanced take I see whilst there will undoubtedly be some genuine cases you need to watch out for the activists like matey below who love a good made up hard luck story. The schools are distributing these packages so you have to wonder why they aren't raising issues before now. That’s no answer to the question being asked. And the question about this needs answering. It’s quite possible this is an isolated incident being blown out of proportion. It’s also quite possible a company is not delivering on its obligations. I want to see this company explain what is going on. For example by publishing details on what they put into their £30 package.

The firm named have said it is not one of their packages, I have seen other pictures of similar basics complaining about what they received as a food parcel from the local council, if any firm is getting £30 for that then they should be facing fraud charges, I expect the truth will be somewhat more mundane and wont be repeated with the same fervour as these claims.

As I read it, its not 2 weeks food its 1 weeks food cost is £11.50 soon to increase but what was provided was not upto the standard expected that they list so I believe they have now refunded the money, so it appears someone at the company was not doing their job for whatever reason rather than evil tories letting their mates profit. This company are also part of Rashford's child food poverty taskforce so you would have thought it could have all been cleared up before he posted anything on twitter.

Yes I did people working in low paid jobs in industries where you can't work from home who have little savings lose hours or jobs completely and end up worse off than all those public sector and middle class home working types who want lockdown to go on forever, big surprise that isn't it. The government has acted to stop evictions and tried to keep as many people in jobs as they can.

According to PMQ's the filth provided by Tory cronies to hungry children is in line with Department of Education guidelines......Johnson refused to agree to changing the guidelines.

Its copied for you in a picture, with picking, packaging and delivery I suspect its not as profitable as you think but this is a choice for schools and one of the reasons they choose parcels is below an unspoken one is they also now that the child gets some food here whereas with a voucher or money these wont be the case for all.

The fact that we're even discussing food parcels vs vouchers is a joke in itself.
How the fuck poverty like this is prevalent in the UK takes the piss.
No one in the UK should have to rely on food handouts other than the homeless.
Again, the focus is on a quick fix rather than looking at the source of the issue.

They shouldn't spend it all on smartphones, fags, booze and SKY subscriptions then. I just thought I'd get that in first save the usual suspects a job.......

I’m more interested to know why food parcels are needed in the first place when we have a welfare system which provides benefits and tax credits.

I’m more interested to know why food parcels are needed in the first place when we have a welfare system which provides benefits and tax credits. Indeed so, and an economy which is set up to encourage entrepreneurialism and everyone benefitting from a trickle down of the profits generated from such an approach... ...almost like the whole thing isn't working too well...

I see Chartwells have issued a further communication.
It’s as unsatisfactory as the first one in explaining what went wrong. It’s beginning to look a lot like they are taking the piss.
I reckon Marcus Rashford should suspend their membership of his Poverty Task Force pending their own investigation into this matter.
Meanwhile the Government should accelerate its own investigation with the intention of bringing criminal charges if appropriate.
Btw - lots of concerns over social media, but this is one area it serves a huge good; exposing bad practice of businesses.
