If you can imagine it, there was a fracas by ten Arsenal fans! Many around them had to move out of their seats to avoid the temp mayhem but most of us didn't bother to watch it as the game was too compelling. The chief steward assured me that they would not be returning for the second half. Incidentally it was just two rows BEHIND the director's box and when I asked how opposition (other than club guests) could be seated there, was told that they had moved out of their sponsored box which is rightly allowed.
Having spare cash does not preclude a tendency towards thuggery or a deficiency between the earsβΉοΈ

Having spare cash does not preclude a tendency towards thuggery or a deficiency between the earsβΉοΈ Monica, most clubs, including Stoke, allow visiting supporters into corporate hospitality areas, and sometimes positively market them to visiting clubs, which can cause problems, and occasionally does in the Waddington Suite seats, no doubt because the alcohol has been flowing for a longer period. In short, those with money are subject to different rules on segregation than the rest of the ground. Your final sentence is spot on.

How did they get in there See my post above, Britvic. The rules which are often strictly enforced on the rest of us, of no away supporters in home areas, don't apply in corporate areas. Not just at Stoke, but most clubs. We sit adjacent to the Waddington Suite seats, and there are sometimes visiting supporters there. So long as their support for their team is not unduly provocative, I don't mind that, but it does grate a bit that identical behaviour in the ordinary parts of most grounds would probably result in ejection.

Several Stoke fans were ejected from The South Stand yesterday after reacting to having pies thrown at them. It was totally unjust and bang out of order.
The new segregation is an accident waiting to happen. There will be trouble if they persist with it.

Most clubs in the Premier League has that level of segregation so not sure why we shouldn't be able to cope with it?

Just love the Arsenal grudge match.
Long may they continue.
We could not have asked for a better opening home fixture.
The team and just as important THE CROWD turned up and dealt yet another blow to our arrogant opponents.
Wenger never came out of the dugout until the last few miniutes. When he did it seamed like the entire crowd were on there feet doing THE WENGER.

On a similiar subject re safety segregation etc. Whilst queing up to get into the boothen noticed the girl security on door L was opening it up to people who knocked and waving people through with no search. Would be laughable if not so serious. Security we either do it properly or take our chances and not search anyone and save a lot of grief, until.................

But they were ejected weren't they ? Yes - according to Monica, and rightly so, given their apparent behaviour. My point was that simply openly supporting the away team in a home area will quite often result in ejection, being a breach of ground regulations, whereas in the corporate areas this is not the case.
