That's very perceptive of you. As it happens my experiences have proved that some birds quite like dirt. Perhaps an idea is to have not one but two boxes next to each other, one standard box and the other a dirt box. When you have enticed a bird into your premises she can choose which box to be entered. It may be prudent to ask said bird the following question..... Ast thee got thee brown wings? Great idea, are brown wings a sign of a healthy bird? Not really, its more a sign you have a Game Bird on your hands!

I believe this post may be no more than a blatant attempt from Waggy to hint that he is back out on the prowl? ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/0m0lbCuTEBzaRn6f8QaM.gif)

My wife spends a fortune on both her boxes - there's a tan coloured one and a dark one with a smaller hole. I can see both through the window as I type, which is pleasant.
I'll post a pic on here when I get chance.
Her larger one got used by some uninvited guests earlier in the summer and I wouldn't go near it for a month or two.
But they've gone now. The bees, not the boxes....

I am after one or two. If anybody knows where to get the best quality ones around the area let me know. Hole size doesnt really matter as long as an average size gets in. I've been having a few birds in my garden and thought it would be a good idea to sort them a place to go I was alarmed when I read the thread as I thought it was going to be all about female pudenda only to be much relieved to see this is purely in an ornithological slant Please punctuate properly to avoid my future self feeling aghast at such titles 😀😬

Both boxes are on the pic, you can see them much more clearly since the wife trimmed the bush. the nearside darker coloured box is the one with the smaller hole, sometimes you get to see tits in the vicinity. the further away one is bigger and there's always a blackbird around it. My wife also complains about the thrush, but not sure why that's a problem. The pole in the centre of the pic with the nut holders - that's mine!, it's where the birds gather when they want some. You'll notice the whole thing is on a slope, which may become a problem as I get older and can no longer get up there. Fortunately we have a gardener who is always happy to go uphill and crack on.

High maintenance boxes by the sounds of things. Quite a jungle on your hands. I'll bet it's nice servicing them in the sunshine though.

My wife also complains about the thrush, but not sure why that's a problem. Thrush are an irritant i here, you can tell them by the speckles on them and the fact they have a liking for big worms.

Never mind bees Colin, you will also have to keep your eye out for stray pussy! Where there is a Bird there is always a pussy
Be careful though, they like to scratch a firm post, they may also be attracted to the swinging fat balls and have been known to bite said balls

I'll bet it'll be the pussy from next door as well, wandering in unannounced expecting all sorts of freebies from the generous neighbour. You've got to be on your guard these days!.

Good god Bill, mind you after that Bitch Wendy, decieved me with been a sensible lass who was hetro , i will choose wisely next time My cousin is looking for a new boyfriend if you are interested Colin. She wore the last one out with her sexual demands and constant badgering to perform deviant acts upon him. I could introduce you if you like. She's not the best looking of women, but can putt a shot over 6 yards and suck a pea through a straw. ![(thumbsup)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/q4Mqf5MqRwT9PY8UitYa.gif)
