That tweet is so cringey. A loan with no option to buy is the complete opposite of ambition. It has been mentioned that PSG wants 22 million and agreeing to that transfer fee is risky even if it was a buying clause after the loan and at the same time not including a buying option is also a risky business which means we either don't have much time to negotiate the buying fee or it was a take it or leave it deal. I think you've completely missed his point there mate. He isn't saying that there should be a fixed option to buy is he? He's saying that the video they've produced looks a bit naff, when it's referencing a loan with no option to buy. It's not the no option to buy he's taking issue with but the video, two different things.

Did ok at Real Madrid Flopped at PSG More of a winger/10 than your goalscoring number 9 so not really what we need Arrogance flows from your words, wtf do you know?

Oh my god what have we done? I rest my case! Makes Stephen Ireland look a bit low rent. Superb. Stoke City - we're still the Dogs Home for Crazy Dogs to be brought to heal but now they come with a night and day matching Lambos and a penchant for 8oz snap back titfers. We fucking rule and let's let Arsenal know on Saturday. COME ON ! ! !

Thrilled with this signing, its certainly exciting!
As for the clubs announcement video, it doesn't matter a jot in the grander scheme of things but it's as lame a video as you will ever see, talk about inviting pride before a fall, what do they say, walk quietly and carry a big stick, that's the way I'd go with these things.

I actually like the video its a bit tongue in cheek and I thought a bit funny while having a dig at the people that we on here have been having a dig at for there comments in the press!! I also think after the drama of Porto and saying we had a buy clause has stopped stoke from revealing this part of the deal as they don't want the fiasco of this year playing out again next year. I would imagine a fee has been set and if Jese likes it here and we like him he will be our player in full next year. So welcome and now prove the doubters wrong that we are a club of ambition!!

If he's fit, he is a brilliant signing.
As for the video, it's difficult to make yourself look uncool when you have just signed jese rodriguez. But someone at stoke has managed it

It's actually "speak softly and carry a big stick" - Teddy Roosevelt. Apologies for pedantry, I agree with the sentiment

If you can't get exciting by this type of signing, then it's time to pack in.
Of course he comes with question marks. What do people expect though? If he was still performing well at the likes of Real Madrid or PSG he would hardly ever consider a career change and rock up in ST4!!!
He's got the pedigree. Let's hope he flourishes again as a big fish in a small pond.

I agree with him on the video but I wanted to clarify that maybe it was only a loan with no buying option because we want him to be present at the Arsenal game hence no time to negotiate a better deal.

Why do we always sign players who are names but past their best?Is it Hughes arrogance that he can bring something out of them others can't. he's done it once -with Arnie otherwise all falures. its a bizarre policy. What about young players on the up?

Exciting signing, terrible announcement video.
Ambition is not a loan to replace a player you have sold for 25m - badly misjudged and has no regard for the prevailing sentiment amongst the supporters. It has Scholes' fingerprints all over it!

I'm sure this would have been covered before but I only dive in & out of the thread so have most probably missed it, but where do we now stand with 'who plays where?'
Does Jesé join Choupo-Moting & Sobhi on the left, leaving only Shaqiri on the right, or can one (both) of these new signings also play on the right? (Or central if we're going back to the old formation?) I've also seen a few posts about the possibility of Jesé, or more likely Choupo-Moting playing upfront, how likely is this?
I'm assuming that both Choupo-Moting & Jesé have come here to play rather than sit on the bench, so how are we fitting them both in?

Looking forward to seeing what Jese can do, whilst we've got a few options in terms of wide attackers it sounds like he's pacy which is something we need.

Nothing much wrong with the video in itself and I didn't find it cringeworthy but I am disappointed that we didn't agree an option to buy, as this would have been a win-win situation for the Club.

Where does the other one of the three play? Are they dropping into midfield, playing upfront or are we expecting them to be happy with a bit-part bench role?

The big issue seems to be, how do you play the three of them behind a striker (Jese on the left, Choupo as the '10' and Shaqiri on the right) and still play three at the back? You can't ... it's impossible. The main consensus of opinion seemed to be that Choupo would be our Walters replacement and find himself more likely on the bench. Not sure if that will actually happen though.

It will be interesting as all three big name centre backs will expect to play, and all three big name attacking midfielders will expect to play. At some stage Hughes will have to decide between 4-2-3-1 and 3-4-3, that is unless he plays Shaq, Jese and Choupo as the front 3 in the latter formation with no recognised central striker or plays Kurt as a defensive midfielder/right back or Bruno as a left back if we go to a back four.

More importantly though I think he's either kicking Berahino up the arse as both Jese and Choupo can play there or preparing for him to fail as he now has options including Crouch

Not sure if that will actually happen though. It's interesting, based from scholes comments about it being really difficult to convince choupo as he wanted CL football do we really expect him to be a rotation player ? He must of been given some assurance that he is a first choice player. I'm convinced that Jese has been offered to us and we jumped without really thinking about it not that I'm complaining the more quality the better for these reasons I can't see another striker coming in. Shaq has to be 1st choice every week. Jese as a loan you'd expect him to be playing Choupo must have been given assurances as above. Is it bera and Bojan that drop out this weekend with choupo playing as the main striker And Jese and Shaq behind him ? The only thing that makes sense to me.

Ramadan can according to Dr Hesham If playing wing backs then it's less of an issue.
