We dont need to spend big money we need to spend money wisely I actually agree , Hughes has wasted far to much of the clubs money on players who have failed or are failing, time to get rid of the problem get a manager in who can turn this around with limited spending. Actually if you add 20 mill for Allen to say 8 for Joselu plus Arnie plus Shaq I suspect he has actually made a book profit offsetting any loss on imbula , market inflation I know but right now the media bone is stoke are not backing him and understandably so .

It's not one game though is it pal? It's the last two seasons? Yes, i agree last two seasons, but we start this one a new slate, the past is the past. I agree we still have some same issues, but like i said the window is well and truly open for a while yet and we all know they're trying to bring in hopefully good players. Until the end of August we should just keep our fingers crossed for those players and back the boys. That’s bollocks. We’ve been shit for the last 2 years, the slate doesn’t just get wiped clean.

If the slate bets wiped clean for Hughes why did we sack Pulis

hughes has got a reputation being toss with money and the club knew it. so why all of a sudden he isn't getting any backing? have the coates family lost faith in him? I thought peter coates has said all footballing matters are down to mark? so who is picking and choosing who we spend money on? he must of been given a budget plus the cash from player sales.

support the lads or stay away - we don't need you if not! Pray tell, what part of criticising a clueless manager means that we aren't 100% behind the guys on the pitch. Come on, enlighten us with your wisdom.

Come on, enlighten us with your wisdom. Judging by the abuse some of the players get on here, I would say a few fans aren't behind some of the players

Hughes should have been sacked at the end of last season.
Nothing has changed and it will take a big two weeks for it to do so.

To be fair he should have gone before last season, but he is still here and still remains a capable manager. I just hope his subs or at least the timing of them are better this season.

Something very strange about our club at the moment. Improvements to the ground but asset stripping in the team. I know the players that have left (apart from Arnie) are getting on but it looks like we aren't bothered any more

It's a definite weak point in his game, although i didn't think there was a lot wrong with his management of the game yesterday.

If we start this season like last season he has got to go So looking at our opening 8 fixtures how many of them are really winnable? Today we play a good team who are one of the biggest spenders in the league and we've shown great sport and fight. Great start in my opinion in a game that we wouldn't have been expected to win anyway.

I notice Sparky has gone away from wearing his red official Stoke tie on match day.i can only imagine the design and quality of a macron tie.

It's not a matter of being Hughes hater ?
For me
Zouma made a mistake and we comment on it.
Hughes lets the game drift and should have changed things around at the hour and give the changes more time to create something.
Hughes spoke about game management , it is something he personally is not good at.
Do I want Hughes sacked, no !
I am just voicing an opinion on him like I would about a player.

Coates is using Hughes as a sacrifcial lamb In order to achieve relegation, appease the dark gods of entropy, fall through the trap door of the golden crocodile. Into the underworld, release all assets, fill the coffers with gold, reap the seeds of the parachute payments, then retire with all Bet365 loans paid up. Conspiracy.... Tin foil hats available at the club shop.

We lost, no points, only positive is the defense seemed solid.

Since it cannot be that Coates wants us to be relegated, and he knows as well as any Oatcaker that last season was awful, I imagine he told Hughes over the summer that he has x number of games to change things for the better, and that he isn't getting any more money because he fucked up big time with Imbula and Berahino. The only issue is how many games before Coates pulls the trigger. Since Hughes proves week in, week out that he's clueless, with today being no exception, I'm guessing it's not many, say till the end of September at the outside.

I just don't get it. Are their lives so full of anger and hatred? Surely we all want Stoke to succeed. He sure ain't going anywhere, so what's the point it keeping up with hatred? Like we say, it can only be the sad fact in wanting to prove they were right. Season is one game in mate. Everyone has got to unite and get behind them. I thought there were positive signs today. Especially at the back, which will get better and stronger as they gel. If we can add some quality over the next few weeks in the final 3rd we could have a really good season You can't ask someone like Benji to unite and get behind the team. His whole life is built around being nasty to Stoke City and each and every one of its employees.

Who would you employ instead? The only manager I wanted us to get was Silva at Hull. He's now at Watford
