I read it as such.
Hughes does seem to have 'not warmed' to him....whereas there have been numerous players that he could have called out, he's chosen not to.
How about calling out Adam, who is consistently shit? Johnson? Pieters? No, have a dig at the young kid that looks like he's got something about him.
Cue first game up, Walters on the wing..oh hold on....
Diouf one side, Shaq the other π£π£

Have you stopped to consider that Ramadan maybe does need a gentle kick up the backside? Or that this is the manager's subtle way of motivating Sobhi to better things?
And Johnson and Adam aren't 20 year old Egyptian lads preparing for their second season in the Premier League.

I think he's just trying to keep him grounded and not let him think he's an automatic starter now Arnautovic has gone.

Just sounds more like, just because Arnie has gone, don't think the place is yours, you still have to work at it and improve. No room for complacency!

We have no-one else who can play left wing, so unless Hughes is planning to sign someone, I'm pretty sure Ramadan will get every opportunity to establish himself. It's a striker we need and I'm boring myself repeating this on every thread I post.

I predict the purchase of a winger to replace Arnie and Sobhi consigned to the bench for much of the season.
Second thoughts perhaps the purchase of a winger is the bit that might let me down.

Hughes is just keeping the lad grounded. He will undoubtedly be called into action regularly, but is some way short of being the complete winger

Strange comments
Ramadan has been no where near as dissapointing as a berahino
If he thinks Ramadonna has been ' okay but... '
Then presumably to be even handed and show he's got no favourites he going to come out tomorrow and claim berahino has been.. ' total f#cking w#nk '

It's a striker we need and I'm boring myself repeating this on every thread I post. We will need some sort of other wing option as well as Ramadan and Shaq though, even with Verlinden coming through? In terms of strikers: 1) We have struggled to create chances for them in the first place, so we need to sort that first and foremost 2) On the books we have Saido, Diouf, Crouch, Joselu, Ngoy. Surely Hughes is going to give Berahino every chance first, if he's going with one up front? If he's going with two up front, we might need a target man and to move one of Jos or Crouch on, but otherwise, it'd be a surprise to see another come in surely?

Because like Southampton and spurs we have to start bringing good young players through Having them sitting on the bench or looking good in the U23s is not good enough

We know what Crouch, Diouf and Joselu can do, and it's not as if Hughes sees them as much of a first choice option up front. Putting all of our eggs in the Berahino basket is a massive risk. He's not someone who can play up front on his own and lead the line. Let Joselu go and we create a space. Diouf is more of a utility forward and Crouch represents the desperation of a Plan B that looks more like Plan C with each passing month. It's my biggest concern.

I don't think there is anything wrong with what Hughes said there he's still got to make it here and show it in pre season and training although we all no he has talent and huge potential he still has to prove himself at this level he is still young.

Think hughesy needs to have a word with the whole bloody squad, and not to forget himself. I hope they have a picture of the empty stadium at the end of last seasons lap of honour for how poor we have been!!! '

I think a kick up the backside is a good way to motivate them, not always sure going public like that works. Only other point I would raise is the vast majority of our squad have performed below their best but not gone public in the same way We will see if it works soon enough

Same problem he's got with Imbula, Bojan, Joselu' Diouf, Wollscheid and Johnson. He's incapable of getting them to play well consistently.

Hughes does seem to have 'not warmed' to him Funnily enough I still haven't warmed to Hughes. He's not an easy individual to warm too, let's face it. Despite having high hopes for Hughes when he replaced Pulis I'm now of the opinion he has lost his way. His uneven treatment of various players is becoming increasingly apparent and problematical.

And Johnson and Adam aren't 20 year old Egyptian lads preparing for their second season in the Premier League. Granted. But doing it publically? A 'kick up the arse' via the Evening Sentinel? Johnson and Adam, you'd expect, should not need the 'kick up the arse' that a young Egyptian lad does. Despite both being beyond wank since God-knows-when.

He's also probably trying to lower the expectation of him which is quite frankly laughable on here.
I know fans can be optimistic but thinking Ramadan is like for like with Arnie is one the most hallucinatory ideas Ive come across yet.
I think its more like 'our' problem with Ramadan than his.

Just a thought but maybe, just maybe, Ramadan hasn't been putting it in during training? As the manager, who sees him on a daily basis, you'd think Hughes is best placed to judge.
I think we're all guilty sometimes of seeing what we want to see in the limited amount of time we get to see players. The manager surely has a much deeper and detailed understanding of his players.
Well, in theory......

Reading the actual words said by Hughes it seems he's come back out of shape after his wedding (which is understandable, but he is getting paid an awful lot of money to stay fit). If that's true the words used are extremely tame compared to what most managers would say.
