A Labour MP on Politics Live saying that 2 million EU citizens in the UK are the priority. That's a big part of the reason we are where we are now! They still don't get it, do they?

Kuenssberg has just said on Politics Live, that the Government are having discussions right now about whether to call a snap election in the next 72 hours.
If MP's manage to change the law this week, then that will be the trigger for Johnson to go to the polls.
Obviously the Tory rebels will have lost the whip and will be unable to stand in the election.

I put 5 Live on for a change, earlier. They were at Preston market, and they interviewed a florist, who was born before the Second World War. The interviewer pressed her on tariffs on flowers from the Netherlands, and she said we have been through worse, and we will cope. He tried again, but she wasn't moving, and said it might mean she would get English flowers for her stall. He seemed really put out at this. It's nonsense to say that there's no bias, it's fucking everywhere! Perhaps she's well off and an couldn't care less? No context to the conversation. A no deal Brexit will harm more people than it benefits. I can't see for the life of me why people would be happy to make themselves poorer. Some of the context; She runs a florist shop, a business and although there may be difficulties she believes that she can overcome them. A bit of positive spirit. Perhaps she won't make herself worse off, perhaps she or her children ( if she has any) may be better off. Time will tell. Perhaps she is pleased that she will have the opportunity to elect or reject her local representative in parliament. And that she prefers to be in a sovereign independent nation rather than surrendering sovereignty to a German and French led EU. Perhaps Tricky's instinct is correct

Dominic Cummings(not an MP)threatens to sack Tory MP’s for not backing any deal & he’s not even a member of the Tory Party A name people will get used to hearing under Johnsons reign of terror. An extremely dangerous man in politics as I pointed out weeks ago.

So MP's who are returning from an almost 6 week Summer holiday are moaning their bag off because a new administration wants to end the longest session of Parliament (400 days) since the Civil War. A new administration who want a Queens Speech to set out their domestic agenda as have every other new Government. Porogueing Government for the 9th time in 14 years. Shaving 3 days of debate off over 3 years of debate. Meh. 59 days left to go... then after a period of teeth gnashing it will die down, thank God! We saw similar straight after the referendum when the forecasted recession did not happen... until the baying wolves started again....

Last I saw (and that was a long time ago) the Brexit Party candidates looked similar to the rest - Farage, Rees-Mogg and Widdecombe are all career politicians, people like Tice have been on the political scene (behind the scenes) for a while, and the guy they put up in Peterborough left a lot to be desired in terms of saying anything of anything note. Of course, none of that will matter to some. If they are pro-Brexit then they'll be classed as good, honest politicians who rally against the Establishment despite the fact by-and-large they are part of it. I briefly read something about the fact that they opened up the selection procedure to all their members, potentially offering them a chance to become a politician for about 50 quid (if I remember the figure correctly), but despite taking the money it appears very few "average Joes" have actually been selected. I'm sure there's a few in there like every party, but no more than any other party in my opinion. C if you look at the list of candidates they sre largely ones who have not taken part in front line politics snd have not previously stood for parliament. there are more than the usual 650 who think that they are able to run the country....you know the Kinnocks, the Coopers, the Eton mob, the entitled.....a breath of fresh air. The thing they have in common is a belief in BREXIT and the sovereignty and independence of the UK, not a bad thing for a UK Politician. This man is interesting..." loaded" son of a miner. twitter.com/MartinDaubney?s=09C I don't see much which makes this guy different. I'm pretty sure there will be ex-journalists in the other parties - Boris Johnson being the obvious one. There's also people from working class backgrounds - Dianne Abbott for another obvious example. The small bit I've seen of the Brexit Party seems to be a case of the party convincing people to be amazed at the utterly unamazing.

I saw A Nepalese metal band at the Sugarmill a few months back. I don't think they were particularly wealthy but they'd got here and were happily selling their merch. Many small groups survive on their merchandise when they tour abroad ,a third of musicians get more than half of their income from work in the EU27. If we leave with a no deal the groups will have to apply and pay for visas for every country they play Holland, Belgium, France, Germany etc. The majority of EU bands who currently come to the UK will no longer be able to come because a) promoters will not be able to afford it (the actual cost for non EU bands is £244 per person, including roadies, drivers etc plus bank statements to show that all have at least £945 in the bank), b) promoters will not want the hassle and c) most will get refused a ‘work permit’ anyway e.g. “make a unique contribution to the UK labour market, for example, you’re internationally renowned or are required for continuity” d) they must also be guaranteed to meet minimum wage standards as set by MU, BECTU, Equity etc

I don't think it is though Momo. Labour seem to have become incapable of listening and the extreme side of Labour seem to just keep repeating what you are saying. Reminds me very much of Militant in he 80s. Many of us would have liked to have voted Labour but I'm afraid that this lot seem to have become irrelevant. It's not just about the Tories, Labour need to show that they are better. They just don't seem credible anymore, even a bit hysterical. I can't stand the Lib Dems but at least they are clear on BREXIT. Which bit aren't you getting John? The enforced closure of parliament and shutting down scrutiny and debate? The threat to ignore the law of the land should legislation be passed this week The threat to sack MP's who don't agree with a very narrow blinkered entitled view of Brexit We are currently living in a right wing dictatorship under any measure. Points by comparison 1. Labours enquiry into anti semitism 2. Exiting the EU is already law of the land 3. Sacking M.Ps is happening now within the Labour Party , harman and field facing deselection after momentum infiltrated their constituency party 4 .i don't remember corbyn or Macdonalds criticism of Cuba or Venezuela regarding dictatorships

He might be a fantastic politician - but this idea that their candidates are completely different to other parties is complete nonsense. If you wish not to see that Diane Abbott is from a working class background, then fair enough. There's plenty of evidence to suggest that she definitely is. Government cannot stop it unless the can get a GE in before the 31st. They can bring in all the legislation they want but all that will do is force Boris to ask for an extension. The EU member have to 100% agree to this extension of which Boris has a vote and all he need to do is vote no and the UK leaves on the 31st. Teresa May had that vote twice but chose to allow the extension mainly as she never wanted out in the first place
