Throwing this in the mix our whelans mrs is good mates with Coleen maybe she's had a word I'm guessing that Phil Bardsley may be more of a pull

If you wanted a rock the city signing, surely this is it?
It certainly would put us in a different league transfer wise.
Raises the profile of the club and gives Bet365 visibility in Asia/America.
But to be honest, it must be bollocks. Surely?

I can see him moving to Florida. Perfect for Wayne, its grab-a-Granny night every day of the week in the retirement state

Sorry if already posted or asked, but without scaling through all eleven pages could someone please point out roughly the percentages of fans either for or against this speculated move?

Surprised a certain ex Stoke manager isn't after him, he loves signing big name players who are past their best, then never plays them.

Surely the only way somebody is going to give you an answer to that question, is, by, erm ... 'scaling through all eleven pages'.

Why do that when you can get somebody else to do it for you?

Wonder if its to our sister club Orlando are paying Kaka 100k a week so you never know. Rules in MLS won't allow another player on the same team with those wages. Plus I think Orlando already has their allocation of DPs used up.

Surprised a certain ex Stoke manager isn't after him, he loves signing big name players who are past their best, then never plays them. Plus they have massive Chinese investment. If you consider that Man Utd are by far the most supported club in Asia, and that Rooney was a key player for them for over 10 years, then it would actually make sense if West Brazil went for him. I bet there would have to be a stipulation in the contract that says he has to start every league game, and TP would have his hands tied by those upstairs until he inevitably walks. Please Shrek, go ANYWHERE but HERE, I heard there's big money in India, not to mention plenty of elderly womanfolk.

He will probably almost pay for himself through shirt sales alone where he goes. But on the pitch he is a mostly spent force only going in one direction... And it certainly isnt up.
A great asset for a club and what a player to have around for youth players to interact with. But I don't think there is any chance of this happening and even if there was, the finances involved would likely be offensive in relation to any other players at the club.

The way Hughes appears to be going with potential new recruits at the moment, it's more likely to be Rooney's dad he's after.

An adult shirt costs £45, and the deal is supposedly a £45 million package. I'm not sure that we're going to sell 1 million shirts

He wont get top end Man Utd contract money at Stoke.

He peaked many years ago and is rapidly losing his quickness. No wonder really, as he has been playing football professionally at the highest level since he was very young. Still, I'd take him on a short contract anyway. he would be a good signing for any team in the prem except the top 5 or 6. I'm not sure how I feel about commenting on this thread, as this rumor seems to be based on one single article consisting of some strange guesswork and a badly photoshopped picture of rooney in a stoke shirt. But this is silly season afterall!

Sorry if already posted or asked, but without scaling through all eleven pages could someone please point out roughly the percentages of fans either for or against this speculated move? 99.37% are behind the Rooney transfer by my calculations. Being realistic, I can see us putting a deal together to have him on loan, guarantee him playing time, so he can go to the world cup.
