The Conservative Party is promising there will be 10,000 more staff working in mental health treatment in England by 2020.
But Labour's former shadow minister for mental health Luciana Berger tweeted to say that the number of doctors and nurses working on mental health had actually been cut by 6,700.
In an answer to a parliamentary question from Ms Berger, Health Minister Philip Dunne provided figures showing that the number of nurses working in mental health in England had fallen from 45,384 in 2010 to 38,774 in July 2016 - a fall of 6,610.
On the figures for doctors, if you look at the monthly NHS England workforce statistics in the psychiatry group, there were a total of 8,676 people listed from consultants to clinical assistants in January 2017, compared with 8,699 in May 2010, so that's a fall of 23.
But that may not cover all of the doctors working on mental health

How can a 'revolution' in workers' rights be silent about zero-hour contracts which cause such terrible insecurity for so many workers?

Don't see the problem with those tax adjustments.
Anyone earning £80k+ a year will be pumping a lot of money into their pension, have access to salary sacrifice schemes such as a car, child care vouchers, health care, etc and possibly other options to do with company shares.
Any half decent company gives you these options at this wage as they are tax efficient for employee and employer.
This will drop their taxable pay by a lot, meaning they would need to be on around £100k+ basic to fall in to the £80k+ after salary sacrafice 45% tax bracket.
How many people do you know are on £100k+?

How can a 'revolution' in workers' rights be silent about zero-hour contracts which cause such terrible insecurity for so many workers? May isn't silent about zero-hour contracts. She commissioned an inquiry into the 'gig' economy back in November 2016. Expected to be published in June.

A TORY COUNCILLOR has sparked anger after a racist tweet was sent from his account when Ireland failed to give the UK any points in the Eurovision.
Shortly after Nicky Byrne had told Europe that Ireland’s 12 points had gone to Belgium, Nick Harrington – a councillor for the Warwick area of Coventry -tweeted: #Eurovision2017 thanks Ireland. You can keep your f***ing gypsies! Hard border coming folks!”
The true face of the Tories!!!

The conservatives where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer!!When labour left office in 2010 the unemployment figure was 8%, it's now 4.7% at a 42 year low, that's a lot more people in work now than when labour left office, at least a couple of million I think, shall these people go back on the dole drawing welfare, is that what you want ? From the office of national statistics site: - The quality of jobs is improving too, as more workers gain full-time employment. The overall rise in employment was driven by a 136,000 increase in the number of people working full time, to 23.3m, while the numbers in part-time jobs dipped by 44,000 to 8.5m. Economists expect the falling rate of unemployment to force employers to pay more if they want to hire more staff or even retain their current workers, however. “We think that the current tightness of the labour market will result in a rise in nominal average earnings growth over the coming months,” said Scott Bowman at Capital Economics.

"Fair and controlled immigration"..... excellent. That's one of the things I wanted from Brexit.

#Awkward They've also raised VAT from 17.5% to 20% Insurance premium tax from 6% to 12% This effects people on lower wages even more than anyone else as they only have a limited amount of money and very little disposable income. Tories have also changed how the second state or contracted out pension contributions have been worked out. Meaning even if you've worked for 40 years paying a stamp you will not be entitled to the full state pension unless you cough up a big lump sum or work until you're 70 odd. Great if you are due to retire anytime soon, eh? Anyone with a private or company pension should check this out as it's a shitter to get to the finish line and get punched in the dick. All this while rigging the system to benefit themselves. What a lovely bunch of people they are.

Jezza says free movement of people will end after Brexit. "Fair and controlled immigration"..... excellent. That's one of the things I wanted from Brexit. I say this as someone not really bothered by immigration but that just comes across as something made up just before the interview, no substance and the third or fourth time he's done the hokey cokey on free movement. I don't think May putting a number on immigration makes sense either will almost certainly fail and there should be the freedom to recruit if there be becomes a skills shortage in any particular industry, we don't want to stop doctors, IT experts, engineers coming in because the immigration quota is filled by baristas for Costa etc. Something more sensible like for every 2 or 3 skilled migrants that a company employs, they have to take on a local apprentice / trainee in the same field would then upskill local workforce and reduce demand naturally.

The impact of the VAT increase is about £18 on every £1,000 of expenditure that is vatable, the biggest expense for most people rent or mortgage is not variable. Insurance tax increase would be £150 on £2,500 Of insurance. Whichever way you want to cut the lower paid are undoubtedly better off.
