Biden's best chance of winning is if Trump is the GOP nominee. 40% of the electorate are floating voters and they will decide the outcome of the coming election. Add to them the female vote who are enraged at the new abortion laws. Biden needs to get them out big style and he'll win.
OS.

That said, Democrats should have geared someone up as an obvious successor. They’ve had years to think about it. The vote will come down to motivation. If Biden’s economy ramps up, he’ll motivate enough people to get out there and do it. I personally would have considered voting for Nikki Haley out of any candidates that are up there.

Many Americans are thick as shit. Turkeys voting for Christmas. The best chance is for Trump to be sent to prison. There at a special level of stupid now, I've met quite a few of them unfortunatley when I travel to the US for work. If he gets in and civil war breaks out they'll just shoot each other anyway. How anyone is gullible enough to buy into him just shows the state of the US, hopefully he gets someone points on the deadpool this year, he's a waste of oxygen. His rapid decline mentally and physically is quite shocking in recent interviews, he's worse than Biden. His rants about magnets recently Anyway the loser president lost last time so hopefully it's the same again - his supporter base has shrunk and from what I've seen a lot don't want to deal with him again as he's didn't do anything related to his promises last time (build the wall and Mexico will pay for it ) and I could go on. This time he'll just waste time chasing his enemies like the patheic man baby he is, the worst president the US has ever had. A sad reflection of their values and society.

Sounds like Trump told European leaders that he would never come to Europe's aid if attacked. 2024 could decide whether the era of the US being on the side of worldwide democracy ends or not. If countries like S Korea and Poland don't get nuclear weapons then they'll be opening themselves up to what Ukraine's going through right now, except that there will be no Joe Biden to come and save them. And imagine if our fighter fleet relied on the blessing of Xi Jinping or Vladimir Putin to get parts or upgrades to stay in the air. This is what we're setting ourselves up for by buying F-35s. It's even more important now for the UK to modernise and upgrade our nuclear weapons & subs.

The Democrats are just fucking incompetent at politics. The branding, marketing, negotiating etc. Policy wise I think they've done a bunch of great things that have really helped Americans. For Trump I didn't like his major policy changes. - Short-term $1.5 trillion more in deficit to mostly cut richer people's taxes? I don't think they needed that much help. - Long term tax increases on people earning less than $100k to fund tax cuts on richer people? I just don't think that helps. - Stripping health insurance from at least 17 million poor people? Killing routine care is a false economy anyway, because then worse problems build up. This failed, I wonder if he'll go back for it. I think there're plenty of richer Americans who get off on having expensive healthcare when poor people can't have anything. It's like having a shiny new BMW you get to drive past the peasants. These folk love Trump.

I’m not sure if people get off on better healthcare to be honest. At least, I’ve not seen that. I’m very grateful for the insurance plan that I have. The only reason Trump went after healthcare was because it was Obama’s signature policy. Spite and nothing else. Our household benefitted nicely under the Trump tax cut but I’d never vote for him. Standard Republican economics: feed the rich and fail to invest then complain when Democrats raise taxes and fund projects that should have been done under their own watch. Ps, I think that Trump couldn’t resist going to war if he had the chance. He’d definitely come to Europe’s aid. All the papers would have to do would be to question the size of his manhood.

Yep, it's been a bizarre race for sure. Trump it is. It's pretty insane to think we are actually going to be watching Trump v Biden again. It will be an 82 year old vs a 78 year old battling it out for the most powerful job on the planet.

I guess the support and influence Trump has in the States can never be underestimated. Biden is also massively to blame with this tin pot effort to stick him in jail. That was always going to rally the troops.

What do you reckon the odds are on both of them winning their party nominations, but then neither of them making it to inauguration day. It would be funny if it wasn't so tragic.

Trump will make it, he's relentless and still so sharp. Massive chance Biden won't make it. Dreadful, senile President who can barely get a sentence out these days. I suppose if nothing else, the reaction of the Liberal left, the majority of celebs/luvvies, the likes of the BBC, Sky News etc when Trump becomes President again will be incredibly pleasurable to watch, even if the overall situation is far from ideal.

I guess the support and influence Trump has in the States can never be underestimated. Biden is also massively to blame with this tin pot effort to stick him in jail. That was always going to rally the troops. It's amazing how Biden went to all those lengths to create these things called "law courts" which are authorized to use a dastardly thing called "evidence" just to get at Trump. Still Trump has the solution - if he does get to be President he's going to declare that anything a President does cannot be prosecuted. Trump is a spoiled little rich boy who has always believed he's above the law and if he gets in he'll make sure he is. A Trump second term would turn the role of President into that of a Dictator. One of the cornerstones of democracy is that no-one is above the law. Trump is looking to change that. He's claiming he's a victim of a witch hunt to elicit sympathy among those who don't care about or don't understand how a liberal democracy actually works. And you've either just fallen for it or don't really care about how government should operate as long as your man gets in.

Trump the man is a egotistical, loud mouth moron. However I don't necessary think he's necessarily all bad on the policy side of things - he likes to think of himself as a deal maker so I doubt he'd simply be turning a blind eye to the situation in Gaza if he was currently president.
