I really don't understand what's going on here. We don't know Pulis leaked anything to anyone about a drug ban but he's being absolutely slaughtered in the vilest terms for something some people assume that he's done. What we do know is that Saido publicly commented after his transfer that he had no idea why Pulis wouldn't play him. This has been exposed as a clear lie. He wasn't played because he was banned by the FA. He was banned because he was taking drugs. Now, imagine the stance people would take on here if it was revealed that, for example, Wollscheid had not been selected by Mark and the team because of drug use. Footballers earn an absolute fortune and in return should make sacrifices to continue earning the fortunes that us stupid supporters fund. If, for example, Wollscheid had been drink driving, smoking hippy shit and using acid whilst pocketing his wages from our football club he would rightly get pelters on the Oatcake. Saido had done all of the above and then lied to the press that he had no idea as to why he couldn't get a game. No wonder his misdemeanours were then leaked to the press by someone (we know not by whom) who took umbrage at Saido's ingenuousness. Yes but berahino had already been subject to the pulis treatment, bullied and ostracised, hung out to dry in the press. Pulis tends to do that to characters that don't fit in with exactly what he wants.

The only thing that we do know is that Berahino took drugs and abused his profession and supporters.

2 lost court cases for fraud is the difference The question has nothing to do with Pulis. Which answer was a lie from Hughes? Did he know about the ban? Or did he have no idea why Berahino was not selected? Or are you another guy who can not answer the question without trying to twist it back on Pulis? Why would Hughes"know" why he wasn't beig picked unless someone told him? Why would Hughes "know" about the drugs unless someone told him? To protect the player drug offences of his nature are not readily disclosed. Pulis made no mention of why he wasn't been picked other than that he was overweight and unfit. The drug offence should not have become public knowledge. The lad clearly s fit but not match fit, that doesn't happen overnight. If you had bothered to put your question clearly and referred directly to Hughes ( who wasn't the manager if West Brom at the relevant time) you may have got a different answer. As you appeared to compare the honesty of Hughes and Pulis, you got the answer that Pulis has been proved to tell lies. No agenda about Pulis as such, but highly suspicious that the news broke just before we play his team

He was banned for 8 weeks - Pulis hasn't picked him for nearly 4 months so for virtually half of the time Berahino WAS available to be picked. OK after an 8 week ban it might take a week or two to get up to speed but, since the ban ended, Berahino has played 3 (or is it 4?) U23 games for the Baggies.

And is the recovery time for a boozing, smoking, drug taking, depressed athlete the same as a dedicated, tea-total, thoroughly contented athlete? Football is a results game. The manager's head and pay packet are on the line every time he picks a team. Pulls will pick the team that he thinks will give him the best chance of retaining his job and his salary. He quite clearly did not think Berahino merited selection. Let's all agree on one thing and hope that Hughes gets Saido fit, healthy and content so that he can be a consistent goal scorer once more.

Couldn't care less what he takes but I've seen nothing in his cameos that says he was worth wasting all summer and over half this season waiting for , early days but I'm not stress the family will tolerate another expensive non player .

You would care if he did the same again (take drugs) and got another eight game suspension. Whilst us gullible specimens are paying his wages and our team desperately needs someone of his undoubted ability.

Well, what did you think of SB's contribution today? As an Albion fan, I was delighted to finally see a home grown player make the breakthrough to the first team, and look as if he may be destined for the highest level. I have seen every one of his home appearances and have become steadily more disappointed in his performances. Sadly, he was showing worrying lapses before Tone appeared on the scene. His public fallout with Peace was always going to end in tears, as the Chairman had already shown his highly vindictive nature in other transfer dealings and people issues. (So sure was I that Peace would be as obstructive as possible over SB and Spurs, I placed a bet that he would not leave in that window - and won £300). The SB performance today was a reprise of his last few WBA outings, which could suggest that Rowland might have had a valid point in not playing him. He is always going to be high maintenance individual, who should benefit from a change of club and coaches. IMO he is still way above the best playing weight, and needs some real training so why Hughes needed to expose him today baffles me, but I am only a thick Albion tosser....

I thought similar. He should be shipped off on some high intensity training course for a couple of weeks before he touches the first team. If he is as fragile as reported he needs careful rehabilitation.

To be honest we didn't have a clue how to use him. No one seemed to know what run he was going to make. He had to come deeper and deeper to get a touch (think it took 20 mins before he touched it). Then when he did come deep, we'd knock it forward bypassing him and leaving him out of position on the attack. We played into your hands today. We may have had 60-70% of the ball but you used it better and looked far more dangerous. Probably the most comfortable win you've had all season.

No Albion supporter blames Pulis. The clubs issues with him started before he arrived FFS.
Doesn't mean he can't turn it round but no need to distort reality to suit an agenda. Even if Donald seems to be making it fashionable.

As I said previously .. there are a thousand people connected with the Club who could have offloaded. And as I said previously... sparky is probably paranoid. TP has voodoo on him at the moment. In all this though I seriously cannot think what harm it could have done to SCFC in today's game. It should, if anything, fired them up. Particularly our new signing.

Personally l think for the amount of money we have spent he's a big risk.Forget his drugs ban,and his problems behind the scenes which have been going on for years. As a professional athlete you would not let yourself be so over weight that you are unfit.WBA got rid because they don't need him,we brought him because we hope he scores goals.I hope I am wrong he's fucked his career and won't get it back.

I along with many WBA fans think that the SB purchase may be a massive millstone around Hughes' neck. For all his potential, it has been a long, long time since he looked like a match-winner. SB needs to get match fit and his head together, but exposing his current weaknesses (as he was in his cameo today) will set him back even further.

Affy not a winger. Correct! He's spent a large portion of his career as a wide man. The problem with him now is not that he can't play there, but that he needs a whole lot more game time after his serious injury, before he has the physical means and the confidence to play as if he was Stan. But he'll get thereabouts, with patience on our parts.
