Has anyone else spotted this annoying trend from liberal social justice types? Clicking fingers instead of clapping in public.
It's apparently less threatening than applause! Jesus wept. I fear it may be spreading, because at an Apple product launch some of the audience were doing it.

Here are some more SJWs at a University in Toronto babbling on about some shit, getting all triggered 'cos the professor said "Can I answer her please"... Don't assume anyones gender anymore, fuck me that is worse than killing someone.
Anyroad here is 'SomeBlackGuy' talking about the said incident.
You'll see in there they also go on about people being assulted at the rally, that gets covered in this video. Now this video contains three seperate stories, if you just want to get to the bit about this in Toronto, skip to around 4:30 (Although the first section is about an SJW aswell)

Give this one a watch, this is at Yale (Fucking Yale!) and some SJWs surround one of the top Professors & say, and this is the actual quote, "Why the fuck did you take the job then, this is NOT about creating an intellectual space, it's about creating a home"  Takes about 3:30 odd to get to the quote above .... It even comes with 'finger clicking' I love how she ends it with "You should not sleep at night, you are disgusting" .... All because the poor fella thought that University was for teaching & learning, and not for safe spaces |

While lots of this is reasonably bonkers, by no means is it widespread. Do you think there are thousands in every university going round fucking clicking at each others impromptu trans rights rallies? It's just not happening.
There might be some small groups that are more active in certain elements of student politics, but that's always been the case.
Re: the Yale one: he was a resident tutor for an area of accommodation, so his role also would have been pastoral. There was strong feeling about Halloween costumes and his wife sent an email that upset people in some way and he got embroiled in that situation in a way he shouldn't have allowed himself do. He was never going to win trying to appeal to an angry mob.
Re: abandoning the left for the alt right (which is clearly a term you don't fully understand if you jump so easily): This is a huge overreaction. You've reacted to videos of something that is enormously niche interest and that essentially only exists online. Take the deconstructing whiteness link: they even concede that FOUR people had attended.

If you read what I actually wrote, I was generally critical of lots of the behaviour that you might attribute to SJW types (which is a useless term). Mob tactics and cyber witch hunts and all that. The problem as I see it is the the 'alt right' (also a meaningless term) set themselves up in opposition to 'SJWs' without an especially consistent or coherent position and essentially use similar tactics by return. In reality the position they oppose is either entirely niche (400+ genders and all that) or imagined and they overstate its threat to them, or mostly reasonable, and their opposition represents old fashioned bigotry (feminism, gay rights, race relations). Any claims that the concerns are globalisation and so on are undermined by the language and purported policy support ("another ten feet on the wall" and all that). |
