Swansea are in a transition of ownership right now so there's a chance that their transfer activity will be delayed until that's sorted According to the BBC this process has stalled during negotiations Yeah. It's been completed now though. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36849464

How do you know when the bid went in mate? When did the negotiations between the two clubs start? At a quick glance, the Daily Mail (*spit*) had Liverpool and Tottenham linked with him well over two weeks ago, and Everton linked for well over 6 weeks... Just because we don't hear about these transfers until they hit the headlines in mainstream media doesn't mean that every other club doesn't have its own 'sagas' just like we seem to have every transfer window. For example the Leicester forum has threads on Michael Keane (started 18th June) and Wissam Ben Yedder (started 27th May), and their very own Joe Allen thread from a link made nearly a month ago (24th June). Every signing and negotiation will be different; for example the Bojan and Diouf transfers seemed to take forever for one reason or another, whilst Glen Johnson and Bardsley seemed to join within hours of a rumour gaining traction. There will be discussions with players and clubs that we're never aware of at the time (like the Ki bid for example) and others that stretch back over many months, a la Berahino; it is just scrutinzed to the nth degree on here because we are all Stokies just desperate for any news like the suckers we are and we never seem to learn to be patient despite it being like this every single transfer window Blasphemy! Blasphemer! Now own up are their any women here. *coyly looks at floor and shakes head whilst adjusting fake beard*

I think we have to prepare ourselves for the worst here fellas, I've had a bad feeling about this one since it broke as all the noises prior to our bid were pointing to him going back to South Wales.
Shame but hopefully we are working on the Juve lad too.

Odd that John Percy said we wanted to "rush through a deal" and "hoped to conclude a deal within 48 hours", and yet he's supposedly on holiday until the weekend?

Shame but hopefully we are working on the Juve lad too. He's a very different player to siggurdson though it will free up some money. Maybe we'll go back to the DM from Everton if it all falls through though I like the sound of the Juve lad. Heard anything else Cilla?

If Allen wants to sign for Swansea he will sign for Swansea. Every day that passes his value decreases. That means he'll be holding a Stoke shirt by midday Friday then.

Why are we all asking fellow posters for updates on their complete guess work?
Just be patient and the signings will come.
In the meantime. Go play pokemon or something

This could be bad news for us.... However, how often have we seen the press report that some club/manager is 'lining up a bid'? Some of these reports never amount to anything and there can be a long way to go before the player moves. Do Swansea want to sell (though they could get Allen and have a few quid in the bank)? Does the player want to move? what wages are on offer? how is the money to be paid? do the new owners want to sell players before they have got their feet under the table? plus other questions/decisions we never think about. So whilst it causes us concern, it could fizzle to nowt?

With this yank take over of Swansea does that mean huew Jenkins isn't part of the club anymore (havnt read the article) if he isn't, he won't be the driving force behind them making a bid for him. The yanks won't know of this player and the manager might not want him

Thanx. They still might not be too keen on him themselves. Going to have to move soon or they might lose out. We want this one sorted. Plus he can go back to Swansea in his twilight years after we have had use of his services

And if Siggurdsson is sold, would Allen view Swansea as a selling club and decide we've got more ambition? There are all sorts of ways these things can be interpreted by players.
Has he got a deep desire to go home, or has he made a passing comment that Swansea will always be his club and he'd like to play for them again sometime, like when he's about to retire? I still think we've got a good chance of landing this one.

Someone needs to tell Allen it's a mistake to "go back".
It usually isn't the same and doesn't work out, e.g. different manager. I know there are exceptions like our own John Ritchie.
