But that is exactly what you did suggest. Do you work for the Sun? when the fuck did i suggest this was directly tweeted by allen? 'He says he would rather go to Swansea, for fuck sake stoke' Those were your very words higher up this thread. 'He says' implies direct speech. IE Joe Allen actually said those words. I made the assumption that you have never been within earshot of Joe Allen so the only way you would have ever had any access to direct quotes by Joe Allen would be by the medium of Twatter. I am open to be disabused of this notion though.

Yes. He'll be a great signing, you obviously lack reading skills. He's got two things going against him for you though hasnt he misty? 1) hes not injury prone enough and 2) he's a player stoke are interested in so by default he's shit. Nope. I just think lemina will be more suited to us and we would benefit more from his defensive side . Well done on the opinion chum, that's must've been excruciating for you. Is he as good as Subotic though . Or was that only because another team were in talks with him. You've got to work on being less transparent buddy. Have you got your foot stamping thread prepared yet?

I would like this guy to join us, I think he has got the grit we need in the middle of the field. Glenn and Charlie are not going to be with us for ever.
But I'm not building my hopes up too high. If Swansea come in with a better offer than us or match our offer he could well chose Swansea.
Why? Decent city, lots of nice places to live in South Wales, it's home to him. WE will need MH to sweet talk him.

Just text my mate and he knew nothing about this one at all and he's a bin dipper. After I text him saying thanks for the info taking the piss obviously and after a bit of work his end he text back saying.... "Don't get too excited as Swansea are still 100% want their man and can all but match our bid." He did say we have the advantage as Liverpool want a quick sale and swans haven't made a move but he is thought to want to join them as a preferred choice. This is obviously before we smashed a bid in. May be now looking at the two options and we could be the better move but who knows.
I hope we get him he'd be great for Stoke.

Thankfully, it looks like we are simply doing Liverpool a favour and forcing perennial relegation no hopers Swansea to up their bid. Get you facts right, Swansea were above us in 14-15 season and if we had lost to or drawn with West Ham last day and they had beaten ManC, they would have been higher last season and they had better goal difference.

So Swansea bid £8m for him last month but have been reluctant to up their bid. But things might change once the US investors finalise things at the club. But replacing Gomis is thought to be more of a priority.
So clear as mud...

Smokescreen to 'flush out' out main targets?
Prior to Euros, I'd have said 'no thanks', even at half that price. If he can repeat his Euro performances consistently however, he'd be a useful acquisition.

You deliberately mislead us into thinking that is exactly what he had said rather than that is what he was reported (third hand) to have said. There is a massive difference. His preference may well be Swansea but as you've not produced it you don't have evidence that he actually said that.

But replacing Gomis is thought to be more of a priority. So clear as mud... Yeah. Going home could be very important to him or it could be not important at all. You've got to think going back to a club he spent 10 yrs as a youngster and where he and his wife' families are is likely to play a part if everything else is equal (and football and finances do seem reasonably equal) Although suppose he could be really settled in some leafy bit of Cheshire? But if he wants to go to Swansea, you'd still think it'd be possible for him to engineer it by January at the latest? It's totally in his hands to decide where he sees the next 4-5 years of his career. We'll probably know by tomorrow what's going to happen and if he sees Swansea as something worth holding out for

Never been a big fan but I've only really paid any attention to him when he's played against us.
My most recent memories of him are when I was glad to see him in Liverpool's starting 11 when we were playing them.
Hopefully he's a lot better than I've given him credit for.

Stoke have pretty much given them a take it or leave it offer and despite reports, nobody has bid close to us and this has been going on since March.
