Just 14 days after arriving, Dia was gone. His one-month contract at Southampton had been terminated midway through.
Dia went back up north, leaving a hotel bill unpaid. Records show he made a brief appearance for Port Vale's reserves—reportedly scoring both goals in a 3-2 defeat against Sunderland at Roker Park.

From what I can gather but I'm just waiting for further confirmation, the mystery Frenchman and Diallo are left backs so full back looks ok. A striker and a central midfielder seem to be the order of the day. 3 new wingers would suggest that Verlinden will spend most of his time in the 21s I guess. Which is good because they need wingers. It's taking shape! |

It really looks like we are making every effort to get the best possible youth players now. I'm really impressed with how the club are moving us forward, this will allow us to compete against some of the bigger present teams without risking us financially.
