Who the hell coaches them. They look absolutely terrible, can't string passes together, and the movement non existent.

Bainbridge and Donohue the two lads who were on trial from Everton are on our squad list on the Premier League website, so I'm guessing they've both signed.

A wrexham mate has this to say about shenton
'Creative'
'technically sound'
'eye for a pass'
'stocky'
'will easily play at a much higher level once he gets the experience'

The Preston site is saying that their youth cup quarter final against us will be on Monday 27th Feb ko 7 pm. Free for Preston supporters so I suppose it will be free for us as well. Only the Main (Sir Tom Finney) stand will be open.
There will be a carload of us from Cumbria going.

I will be at Preston only 20 miles away. Decent parking on the council estate behind the invincible stand and then straight back to M6 after our win.

bernews.com/2017/02/bristol-city-football-club-signs-osagi-bascome/Looks like one we looked at but did not take further. He comes from a family of international footballers and cricketers. We do have a few in each generation that are worth considering here in Bermuda - from Clyde Best, through Goater and Lightbourne, to Nahki Wells. We obviously have some links (presumably through Lightbourne who is a club coach and national under-20 coach now), as we had Dale Eve, and took a look at Chae Brangman. They have UK passports, so it makes bringing them over easier. Chesterfield and Ilkeston have a link up with some of the coaches here and another youngster has gone via Ilkeston to sign for Chesterfield (Rae Simons). A couple more are in non-league and there is a young winger at West Ham (probably via a Clyde Best recommendation).

How did we let Ben Brereton slip through the net? Think I read somewhere we actually released him. No idea why though. Just seems strange. Our policy is obviously to sign as many talented youngsters as possible, in the realisation that very few actually make it. The more you recruit, the better chance you have of getting one that makes the grade. Seems strange that we'd let go a player who very shortly after started playing first team football at a very decent level in the championship. With the likes of Liverpool being heavily linked too.

How did we let Ben Brereton slip through the net? Yup we released him. He played against our 18s in the cup and was marked out of the game by our CBs and was lucky not to be sent off for a dive and then booting the ball away and Campbell was 100 times the player that day (and that's no exaggeration and obviously no fair judge of his talent as its a one off). What it does show though is that it's a funny old game!

What it does show though is that it's a funny old game! I work with a guy who's quite heavily into the local footy scene through his two sons. He raves about him (but I suppose he would stand out playing in and against local sides). Be interesting to see how he develops.

Which does make me laugh. But what his situation does show though is that developing youth players is as much about the pathways as it is the talent. He was disposed of by us and Man Yoo in quick succession, has had one good season at Forest in the youth ranks and their situation (shit owners and desperate) has given him the chance to shine. And we had a CB (Souttar) who had him in his back pocket pretty easily.

Is that the same Brereton lad that's being linked with a move to Liverpool? If we are letting go of youngsters who are then getting game time within a competitive league such as the Championship, surely questions should be asked?
