I thought N'Goy looked a bit bored today. He's really got to be given a shot soon as him and Telford will surely lose interest soon.
I was impressed with Taylor and Verlinden as well.
I think Shenton looks like hes taken a step back though. He seemed a bit sloppy today.

Great to hear that you think that and I really hope they can get their chances. Our issue is we have too many "alright" players infront of them so I can't see Hughes giving Telford or ngoy a chance if Walters, Crouch or Diouf are fit even if the young lads are looking equally or more impressive. Verlinden may get a chance if we have sufficient injuries but again Hughes will try and shoehorn a Diouf or Walters into the team first. You're probably right for this season but doesn't it look like there could be an exciting succession plan next summer. The potential for Crouch, Walters, Whelan, Adam.. etc having ready replacements with youth summer 17. Never know what might happen in the FA Cup early rounds, or come spring if we're safe in the Prem. I live in hope. Yeah it would be great, the only way we can progress with it is to start a season with no new signings replacing some (not all) of these players thus forcing these players into the squad. We could maybe start with one player each from Def,mid and attack... Taylor,Verlinden and Ngoy for example... If they don't show they can improve enough within. The season we could put them back into the u23s or sell them.

For me its a travesty that Walters (and I do like him but I think his time is up) is able to put in 2 displays like he did against Spurs and Palace and he's still ahead of N'goy and Telford who granted may not have done any better but would have learnt a hell of alot from the experience.

I'm not interested in forcing it, who knows maybe the process could start this xmas window,

We were very clinical, it was very strange but excellent to watch. Telford, Verlinden and N'Goy were all excellent. Edwards at CB read the game well. Taylor defended superbly. Molina has bulked up a lot since the last time I saw him play which is good to see and he played well too. Agree with all that, mate. Really hard to say who will or won't "make it" at the higher levels of the game but the lads you mentioned all did very well indeed. Telford is a natural goal scorer and while I'd never say he's going to be a top player (too early to say) I am as sure as I can be that he'll have a decent career and score plenty of goals.

Will we be seeing NGoy in the first team squad soon? Not sure he's ready for that but he's definitely got something and looks a real prospect. Sometimes looks a bit out of the game but then comes alive when it counts. Took his goals really well.

We seem to have been signing bright young talent for the last 10 years - what happens to them all

Great performance by the sounds of it, Verlinden certainly got a boost after being with the first team all week. Onto Morecambe on Tuesday then.

Tyrese Campbell has scored for the u18s this morning.
So he's back playing for us but has he signed?

U18s were 2-0 against Everton but lost 5-2.
One of the Everton lads scored 4.

Don't suppose the U23s right-back (is it Edwards?) would be a contender to deputise if Bardsley joins Johnson on the treatment table and misses out at Hull?
In years gone by, as a pro footballer employed by the club, he would have automatically been in the mix to fill in, in the midst of an injury crisis.
But just shows how these shadow U23 systems operate now that it looks a total non-runner and you'd expect Muniesa or even Diouf to step up if we don't want to disrupt the Whelan-Cameron axis
