This seems to have gone very quiet. Is no news good news? Perhaps he's now yesterday's news. Bigger more interesting things occurring rather than just him.

He's on holiday.
Nothing will happen until he returns for pre season training.

I am not sure how Arnie can agree to or reject a deal whilst sitting on a beach on his hols! We will know one way or another fairly soon after he comes back to training, I would imagine.

Leicester is his target destination if Mahrez goes . really? does anything you say have any basis in fact? occasionaly you have a sembalnce of a point but you undermine any arguments you have with the rest being complete drivel

Arnie always said he would concentrate on his football then sort it out in the summer - it would be odd to now do so before even coming back to the club to talk to the management personally, presumably with his agent in tow.

I believe that a number of clever devices have been invented that allow communication over distance. In fact, I can't see any reason why people have to meet face to face to agree such a contract.

I think that agreeing a multi-million pound employment contract is most often considered one such circumstance by our management.

That's understandable, but do we want a player that only gives his all when his contract is nearly up I'm not sure that's wholly accurate. His first season he wasn't fully fit for the first half but was excellent for the second half. Second season, he never got into his stride because Moses was playing so well, but was then excellent for the second half after Moses got injured, then last season, he was probably our best outfield player over the whole season. Maybe he was playing for an improved contract or a move to a bigger club, but I think you could argue that that's not the whole story.

Leicester is his target destination if Mahrez goes . I think that would be a huge mistake for him personally. Leicester fans are used to players who are selfless runners. Arni's pets and terrible body language would not go down with them at all IMO. I think his career would quickly go off the rails again. On the other hand if Arni is demanding a ridiculous wage rise and we can get >£20m for him (which doesn't seem to get much these days!) I'd let him go.

I just think we'd draw the line in different places where Arnie's concerned.

How exactly do you know that Leicester "is his target destination if Mahrez goes"??? Do you know Arnie or his agent/brother personally to state this so clearly/confidently?

Not sure if football is the same, but in the music business, deals go back and forth between lawyers and clients, until agreement is reached and everyone gets together for signature. Not saying there is no face to face meeting to kick negotiations off, but the main bulk of the deal is done via email.

He did really well last season , I think some of that was to impress in the Euros and hopefully get a move to big club and I really don't blame him for that because he must want to realise his potential .
If we are to make him our best paid player on a long contract I hope we are sure that its the Arnie of last season we will be getting because if the sulky one comes back it could be an expensive few years

As many people have pointed out on this board, the transfer window is moving along. Just as a club might miss out on a player so a player might miss out on a club.

Charlie Adam on radio five live now talking about transfers... interestingly he said that a lot of our players are waiting to see if Arnie going to sign as he's a hugely important player and some are awaiting his decision before deciding on their own futures. I only switched on halfway through but sure it'll be on podcast later.
